Translation Voices and Texts (Italian, French, Spanish)

Overview

IntroductionThe purpose of this guide is to give you the official translation of Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death videogame and the procesure to make it works with the steam version.The translation is available in Italian, French and Spanish.This will translate the following element in the game :Voices (in-game and cutscenes)Game MenuAll texts (dialog, HUD, objectives etc…)This translation will not overwrite any of the original steam file.

Installation

How to install

1/ Download the language pack you want to install

2/ Extract the “DreddVsDeath” folder of the zip file into your Steamapps folder (Where the game is) to merge the two DreddVsDeath folder.

3/ There is also some regedit file that came with the translation zip, execute the one corresponding to the version of Windows version you have

x64 if you have a windows 64
x86 for the 32 bits one

4/ You can now launch the game and it will be fully translated.
5/ If the game is still in English :

edit the registry Language value in
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREClassesVirtualStoreMACHINESOFTWARERebellionDredd
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREClassesVirtualStoreMACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeRebellionDredd
depending of your version of windows 10 (x86 or x64)

Set the language value to
1 : French
2 : Spain
3 : Italian

English voice with translated Texts

For those you want to have the text in their native language and want to keep voices in English.
Just follow the installation procedure above.

You will have then to rename a folder and a file.

Go to the DreddVsDeathSounds folder

Just delete the XX_gmsnd and the Spch_XX folder a
(where the XX = Sp for spanish, it for italian, Fr for french)

Make a copy of the Spch_En folder and name it : Spch_XX
Make a copy of the en_gmsnd.asr file and name it XX_gmsnd.asr

Example for the french version.

Delete spch_fr folder and fr_gmsnd.asr file in DreddVsDeathSounds folder
Copy and rename the en_gmsnd.asr file to fr_gmsnd.asr
Copy and rename the folder Spch_En file to Spch_Fr

Uninstall

As none of the original file are overwritten, the simpliest way to return to English is to remove The admin right on the Exe and delete the Dword key in the registry :

depending of you windows version.
