Hidden and Miscellaneous Achievements

These achievements can be easily missed and are often related to collecting items or information.

Could’ve Been A Loremaster – Correctly answer all of the questions in the student’s quiz. In the Academy’s library in Act I, a student will ask you a series of nine questions. The answers, in order, are Eth’leen, The Warlord, Scholar, Mage, Julien, Brawler, The Holy Three, Damon, and Three. Here are the explanations-

1. Eth’leen is to the west of Guinevere. Cor Anara is to the south, and Hinode is to the east. This information is obtained in the glossary.

2. The Warlord was the last person to try to take over Guinevere. This is seen during the intro cutscene, is talked about by a few students in the Academy, and is stated in the library book, Guinevere.

3. In the Metaphysics entry of the glossary, it says that Hinode’s mages are metaphysicists. Using process of elimination, you will know that all of the other options for this question are mages that use elemental magic, and the scholar is the only metaphysicist present. Flame Adepts wield fire, Tidecallers wield water, Stormcallers wield lightning, Exarchs wield darkness, and Bishops wield light. Additionally, if you have battled, you will know that Amber uses shields, which is also covered in the Metaphysics entry in the glossary.

4. A student on the skybridge will tell you that mages are treated as royalty in Cor Anara.

5. A student on the skybridge will tell you that Julien guards Llymayn’s faithful.

6. A student in the library will tell you that Queen Lowangen is a Brawler.

7. The same student from question 5 will tell you that The Holy Three are represented by Llymayn’s Mark of Faith.

8. A student in one of the skybridge’s classrooms will tell you that Damon Lorienth was the first king of Guinevere.

9. The library book, Guinevere, will tell you that the city has three districts, the Trade District, Nobles’ District, and Peoples’ District.

Some Things Are Better Left Buried – Read all of the ancient journals in the Academy’s underground vault. The first is located on the bookshelf in the room where Morgan is summoned. The second is in the bookshelf in the southern room on the same floor, just left of the blue lever room, and the third is located on the northern bookshelf on the sublevel.

Their Life For Theirs – No one was left behind. Rescue all eight students scattered throughout the Academy in Act I. There are actually only five that you have to go out of your way to rescue.

1. Karissa is located in the hall right after defeating the assassin. Move the obstruction to help her escape.

2. A female student is in a classroom at the north end of the hall where you find Karissa. She has had her staff taken and cannot defend herself.

3. Three students are rescued when you reunite with Amber, and cannot be missed.

4. A male student is located in a destroyed classroom in the Hall of the Founders, right after rescuing Amber and the other students.

5. A male student is located in the leftmost classroom in the hall right after talking to Sylar and his friends.

6. A female student is located in the tunnel in the burning hall. You must defeat a tough group of sellswords to reach her.

A Chance Meeting – Talk with an esteemed Cor Anaran leader. As soon as you enter the Brazen Kaluga in Act II, talk to the man in the green robe above the stairs. Do not interrupt Cormac to win this achievement.

Arm Of The Past – Find the Galeweaver’s Staff. Fully complete the teleport puzzle in the Otherworldy Domain, and do not use the Chat feature to skip to the end. You will get the staff and the achievement after Lane’s character battle.

Library Of The Past – Collect all of the Eldyrian tomes. There are four tomes scattered throughout all three Acts.

The Ancient Treatise is earned in the mining tunnels beneath the Academy in Act I. You must defeat the difficult bat battle, and Amber will comment once you’ve opened the correct chest the bats were guarding.

The Ancient Contract is found in a chest guarded by Racaiah at the end of Act I.

The Ancient Encylopedia is found in an attic in Castle Guinevere. In the daytime, after Rowena’s dream, ascend the rightmost stairs and search the small collection of books on the right side of the room.

The Ancient Scripture is located in the bookshelf guarded by Commander Veran at the end of the Guardhouse in Act III. Simply examine the bookshelf after defeating him to find it.

Scholar – Unlock all character biographies. You must read the book titled Guinevere in the Academy’s library in Act I. This will unlock three character entries. Next, defeat both Racaiah in Act I and Commander Veran in Act III to unlock their entries. This achievement will unlock before the final checkpoint in Act III.

Character Battle Achievements

These achievements are earned by winning the solo character battles encountered by the heroes. All but one are mandatory to winning the game.

Unquenchable Cyclone – Win Lane’s character battle. This battle takes place about halfway through Act III.

Her Faith, Unwavering – Win Rowena’s character battle. Winning this battle isn’t needed to continue the story, but is mandatory if you want to earn this achievement. This is the last fight in Rowena’s dream.

Master Of Their Secrets – Win Cormac’s character battle. This is one of the last fights of Act II.

Pioneer Of The Weave – Win Amber’s character battle. This fight takes place towards the end of Act III.

Her Strength Was Herself – Win Morgan’s character battle. This takes place in the Guardhouse in Act III.

Character-Related Achievements

These achievements are tied to important characters, and can be missed.

Songbird Set Free – Rescue Karissa during the Academy’s attack. She is right outside the room where Lane defeats the assassin. Make your way towards her and clear the obstruction to free her.

Angel In All But Name – Morgan remains loyal to you in the final fight. Morgan’s loyalty is determined by four tests, and she will turn on you if you fail two or more of them.

1. Morgan’s influence with Lane. Be kind to her whenever you can, and comfort Aeric when he is angry with himself. Lastly, be sure to talk to her before setting off from the final checkpoint in Act III. You must have at least five influence points with her to pass this test.

2, Karissa must be rescued. See the aforementioned achievement. If you leave the map before she is saved, you fail this test.

3. You must save at least seven of the eight students during the Academy’s attack. Any less and you will fail this test.

4. Morgan must resist the demon’s ruse in Act III. Say you’re going to look for Lane and Amber, do not believe the fake High Magister, and decline the invitation. You must make at least two of these decisions to pass the test.

Optional Boss Achievements

These achievements are earned by defeating the two optional bosses in the game.

Blazing Deliverance – Defeat Racaiah. She is located in a small tunnel before the end of Act I.

Hate Was His Downfall – Defeat Commander Veran. He is located at the end of the Guardhouse in Act III.

Antagonist Achievements

There are two ways to defeat the antagonist of the game, and each will earn you an achievement in return.

Mistress Of Words – You are able to talk the antagonist into seeing the error of his ways. You must choose your words carefully, and one mistake will result in a fight. The correct order is Betrayal, Pride, Failure, Sorrow, and Peace.

Together They Stood, Facing Destruction – Defeat the antagonist in battle. You will have to win two battles in a row, so make sure you are prepared. In the second battle, you will have help from your allies, but you will still need to land the final blow.

Character Ending Achievements

These achievements represent the best endings for each of the characters.

Her Mystique, Demystified – Your answer was correct. This achievement is unlocked only if you correctly discern Whitney’s nature. She is a sending of Ycantha. Clues that hint this relate to her being obsessed with money, appearing in places that would otherwise be inaccessible, being much older than her friends, and telling Kody that she is not really in charge of her destiny. Lastly, Whitney is turned into gold when the spell enabling her expires.

His Memory, Honoured – Morgan’s best ending. Complete the requirements for Angel In All But Name, and you will earn this achievement. Morgan is inspired by Teo, and his memory helps her gain confidence in herself and fight for what she wants in her life.

His Past, Conquered – Cormac’s best ending. When you are in the tunnels beneath the Temple of Llymayn in Act II, ask Cormac to reconsider. He will study his Ancient Eldyr and provide a means to restoring him from the effects of his Spell. Rowena must achieve her best ending as well for Cormac to unlock his, so be mindful.

Her Goals, Selfless – Rowena’s best ending. Win her character battle during her dream, and make sure you ask Cormac to reconsider in the tunnels beneath Llymayn’s temple. Even if her character battle is won, you won’t unlock her ending without Cormac.

His Error, Pardoned – Sylar’s best ending. You must tell Sylar that he should be forgiven at the end of Act I. At the final scene of Act III when Amber is studying her speech before the ceremony, talk to the Guardian to the immediate southeast of Professor Denian, and he will tell you that Sylar used his newfound powers to help the Guardians.

Her Passion, FreeKarissa’s best ending. Make sure you rescue her in the hall right after Lane fights the assassin in Act I. Lastly, talk to Karissa in the end camp scene when Amber is studying her speech for the ceremony. She will tell you to keep a song in your heart.

His Sin, Absolved – Kody’s best ending. In Act II, after you defeat Irrena and her handmaidens, Kody will become angry with you for letting her go. Hold your ground and tell him everyone has a chance at redemption. Continue with this point of view whenever he asks about it, and do not enter his room once you’re in the temple. Kody will respect you and start on his path to forgiving himself. Lastly, talk to him once you reach the final checkpoint of the game, before piercing the barrier.

His Love, Realized – Lane’s best ending. You must have enough influence with Amber. Always side with Amber during conflicts, and encourage her studies. Lastly, find as many of the Ancient Eldyrian tomes as you can. You will know you unlocked this achievement if Amber mentions and thanks Lane during her ceremonial speech at the end of the Epilogue.

Her Dreams, Reached – Amber’s best ending. Collect all four of the Ancient Eldyrian tomes. See the Library Of The Past achievement for details. Because of this, you must defeat both optional bosses to win this achievement. Amber uses the tomes to make a breakthrough discovery in Vitaran magic.

Perfect Ending Achievement

Arguably the hardest achievement to obtain. The perfect ending represents the best possible ending for the characters, and is influenced by many variables throughout all three Acts, as well as the Epilogue.

Their Lives, True – You must complete all of the requirements for every achievement in the Character Endings section, as well as rescue all of the students in Act I. Additionally, you must correctly discern Whitney’s true nature when Cormac asks you in Act III. This ending checks a total of ten requirements, making careful attention necessary. If successful, this achievement will unlock after the end credits.

Here are all ten factors that are a must for this achievement to unlock –

1. Morgan’s best ending

2. Cormac’s best ending

3. Rowena’s best ending

4. Sylar’s best ending

5. Karissa’s best ending

6. Kody’s best ending

7. Lane’s best ending

8. Amber’s best ending

9. You must correctly identify Whitney as a sending of Ycantha.

10. You must rescue all eight students in the Academy.
