Troubleshooting for "connection no longer available" for Call of Duty: World at War

Troubleshooting for “connection no longer available”

Overview

Possible fixes if you cannot connect to coop or multiplayer servers. I have added a few screenshots to help.

PunkBuster

PunkBuster may not seem like it would be the problem, but enabling it in Cooperative Options fixed it for me.

Connection

For the best connection, try to connect to your router through an ethernet cable, and that nobody is downloading something.

Port Forwarding

An issue I don’t have, but many others do. Port forwarding may not be the problem but is worth trying if you have time and want to put in the effort.

There are multiple ways to go about port forwarding, but the easiest is to find your router on this website: [link]

Another way involves a few steps;
1: Go to Windows start menu
2: Type in cmd , and then press enter
3: Type in ipconfig
4: Find “Default Gateway”.
5: Type that into your web browser of choice
6: If you need a username/password, it is usually user/user or admin/admin. If not, you can find the login on Google as the login is almost never changed from the default.
7: Depending on router, go to GATEWAY, and then FORWARDING
8: If it has a box to enter an ip, go back to CMD and find your IPV4 address, as this is what it should use
9: CoD: WaW uses ports UDP: 3074, 28960 TCP: 28960 (my port forwarding page is kind of messy but you get the idea)

I haven’t needed to port forward for WaW so these ports may not be exact.
