Overview
A guide to crafting various turrets in Avorion
Introduction…
You will find many turret factories around the universe of Avorion in various sectors, which when you have the right amount and types of materials will make you various types and quality of turrets for your ship.. listed below is a selection of turrets from 1 such iron zone turret factory.
this is however a work in progress guide so more to follow in updates soon 🙂
hopefully you will get the basics of what is needed for all factories and start building your own weapons soon and not rely on those found from enemies and alike…
so what does a turret factory look like and what do you say to make turrets..
the turret icon on the station is a giveaway, as is the build turret option in the dialog when highlighting said station and hitting F key.. as seen in screenshot below..
you maybe wondering where to get the components for making said turrets, unfortunatly an exact list isnt possible because of changing seeds and starting positions.. but what you should be doing is looking through all space stations for goods to buy and stock pile the required items in your cargobay. however there is a slight risk for some components that i have found which makes it slightly harder… when travelling you may have to deal with ” faction ship patrols” that “confiscate some of your goods” as they are deemed “danerous” or “illegal” without a “permit” from them…
no idea how or where to get said “permit” but there we go just some of the issues with space travel i guess… you can if you choose ignore the ship request to remove your cargo and not pay the fine or you can loose the cargo and pay fine to avoid a fight.. the choice is your’s to make…

iron material turrets.. (incomplete listing w.i.p)
This section covers iron salvaging, mining and weapons turrets. an early material for lowest level ships ingame…
you will need a variety of items found around the iron material area’s and hopefully not to far from an actual turret factory..
please note pictures showing turrets/materials needed are subject to a RNG rule and may well be different for the same level of material in your game then to mine..
1st up salvaging turrets..
you will see 4 general rarity or quality of turret in the salvaging section of the turret factory as a drop down list. (on the leffhand side panel) in the main bulk of the window you will see a list of needed items and either a + or – button.. pressing the minus lessens the required amount of mats needed, while hitting the plus button will make it cost more mats. the higher the mats needed the better the base stats of the salvaging turret, and the more credits it will cost to make.
(the pictures below are all set to the bare minimum requirements, click pictures to enlarge..)
————————————————————————————————————————–
2nd up mining turrets
as before there is 4 general rarity or quality turret options and as before you can change the amount of mats required to use in building the turrets and change the overall stats and costs.
(again all requirements arfe set to minimum)
————————————————————————————————————————–
now for weapon turrets..
there are 2 different weapon turrets options for you to choose from at this time in the guide…
(though i doubt very much if thats all there is to choose ingame) but at the moment the turret factory im at is limited to the following 2 types..
lets start with triple chain turrets.. same rules apply to the weapons as do the mining and salvaging turrets.. changing the mat requirements changes the stats and costs and is 4 rarity or quality turret options.
(pictures show the minimum requirements for mats)
————————————————————————————————————————–
The Quad bolter turret, and again like before all mats required can be changed to make the turret stronger or cheaper to build..
(pictures shows minimum requirements for mats)
————————————————————————————————————————–
now the double chain turret, same rules apply as always to these turrets as before for mats and costs options..
————————————————————————————————————————–
double bolter turrets as always same rules apply to these turrets for mats and costs options.
————————————————————————————————————————–
Double force turret a slightly different sort of turret but same rules apply for mats needs and costs..
————————————————————————————————————————–
this is not a complete guide to every weapon type as yet. this is just the begining of the guide and just 1 such turret factory, other factories maywell create different weapon types with different requirements aswell.. be on the look out for such differences and feel free to message me with details ( seed name and co-ords if you like or leave a message to join in the guide creation and add to it as and when needed thanks…)
next up will be titanium turret factories when i get to 1 tonight.. stay tuned for more over the following days or so..
Titanium turrets factory section.
This section will cover Titanium turrets from salvaging and mining to weapons of various sorts..
So you found your way into the titanium area’s of the universe, and have now started hopefully collecting the required mats needed to craft titanium turrets and upgrade those iron turrets you been using so far.. here you can find some of the mats needed and start powering up your ship defences and mining/salvaging abilities..
—————————————————————————————————————————–
to start us off we will continue with the salvaging turrets in titanium.
as before the mats required in screenshots are the minimum needed options starting with the lowest rarity/quality and credits costs.. just remember to use titanium turrets you need titanium blocks on your ship to place all turrets on, iron is no good anymore. the same goes for when you get to it the higher the material turret the higher the block material has to be to use it..
—————————————————————————————————————————–
mining turrets
————————————————————————————————————————–
now we can move onto weapons turrets and get that firepower higher. its also important to remember that the bigger the ship the more upgrade slots it can hold and use to increase the amount of turrets placeable on a ship. its worth looking into some of the all turret or military turret upgrades and using them if you can as having 2 good turrets is ok in iron areas but 4+ is better for titanium areas… this is because the enemies get stronger and stronger the further into the centre you go. at some point you will find the enemies have shields also and more hull strength and firepower themselves… be prepared!.
1st up on the list of weapons turrets is Double Chaingun turrets
————————————————————————————————————————–
next up is the Double Bolter turret
————————————————————————————————————————–
and now for a slightly different sort of turret, Double Force turrets.
————————————————————————————————————————–
this is not a finished section of the guide as yet.. i will be looking to cover as many types of weapons as possible in future updates of this guide.. stay tuned for more to follow shortly 🙂
