TV1000 Team Builds

Overview

This guide will give you a few suggestions on starting build for the different races in Blood Bowl 2.Most of these suggestions are either by me or a coach in the cKnoormunity steam community.-cKnoor

Humans

Humans

Newbie friendly
5 Linemen
2 Catchers
1 Throwers
4 Blitzers
3 Re-rolls
No Apo
Total 970k

You’re missing the Ogre, which is non-essential. And with 30k still in the bank you should be able to buy an Apothecary after the first game. If you want you can skip 1 lineman and get a 2nd thrower.

Grindul’s build
1 Ogre
1 Thrower
1 Catcher
4 Blitzers
4 Linemen
3 Re-rolls
No Apo
Total 980k.
This gives a solid starting passing game as well as the strength of the ogre and full blitzers.

Gilky’s Evil Twin
1 Ogre
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
3 Re-rolls
No Apo
Total 960k

Orcs

Grindul’s build
3 Black Orcs
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
3 Linemen
3 Re-rolls
No Apo
Total 1000k

The rerolls are twice the price after team creation, so it makes more sense to save 80k for a Black Orc than 120k for another Reroll.

diogenes’s build
4 Black Orcs
4 Blitzers
2 Linemen
1 Goblin
3 Re-rolls
No Apo
Total 1000k

Throw goblins
1 Troll
2 Black Orc Blockers
2 Blitzers
3 Linemen
4 Goblins
3 Rerolls
1 Apo
Total 990k

This is probably a horrible build, but you’ll get to throw lots of goblins at players. (Took this one from fumbbl)

Dwarf

Common
5 Blockers
2 Runners
2 Blitzers
2 Troll Slayers
3 Rerolls
No Apo
Total 1,000k

You’re once again starting without an Apothecary, but you’re getting everything else and 3 rerolls.

Skaven

4 Gutter Runners
2 Stormvermin / Blitzers
4 Gutter Runners
1 Thrower
4 Lineman
3 Rerolls
1 Apothecary
Total 1000k

Starting with 4 Gutter Runners means you’ll be really fast and mobile. But the low strength on the Gutter runners means you might take a beating. You’ll probably still win as long as you just run away.

Gilky’s Evil Twin’s build
1 Rat Ogre
2 Stormvermin / Blitzers
2 Gutter Runners
1 Thrower
5 Linerats
3 Rerolls
No Apo
Total 990k

Weedbrood’s build
1 Rat Ogre
2 Stormvermin / Blitzers
2 Gutter Runners
6 Linerats
2 Rerolls
1 Apo
Total 960k

Swap lineman for Gutter runners while you lvl up,lineman are gonna die or get injured anyway.

High Elves

All elf-teams have really expensive players, which means you won’t be able to buy everything you need.

Common
6 Linemen
1 Thrower
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
2 Rerolls
Total 990k

With 2 catchers you’ll have an easy time scoring. Get an Apothecary as soon as you can.

With Agi 4 anyone can catch-build
8 Linemen
1 Thrower
2 Blitzers
3 Rerolls
Total 1000k
The catchers are really good, but you can live without them.

cKnoor’s funtime elf-build
11 Lineelf
4 Re-rolls (or you could do 3 Re-rolls and 1 Apo)
Total 970k

The lineelves have a really strong statline and with every piece the same you can build them any way you want. Once you get more money you can buy positionals if you want.

Dark Elves

Peter.ka.johansson’s build
4 Blitzer
1 Runner
6 Lineman
2 Rerolls
Total 1000k

A classic build for experienced coaches, you start with only 2 rerolls and no Apo, so make sure you don’t roll 1s

Newbie friendly-ish
3 Blitzer
7 Lineman
1 Witch Elf
2 Rerolls
Total 1000k

We are swapping 1 Blitzer for a Witch elf and remove the Runner as Dump-Off is a skill that’s hard to get right when you’re a beginner.

cKnoor’s funtime elf-build
11 Lineelf
4 Re-rolls (or you could do 3 Re-rolls and 1 Apo)
Total 970k
Exactly the same as the High Elf build, but you can get funner pieces once you get enough money to buy more elves.

Bretonnians

Get everything, except Apo
4 Blitzers
4 Blockers
3 Linemen
2 Rerolls
Total 980k
This is what I (cKnoor) started with. It’s ok, but 2 rerolls makes it hard at first.

Newbie friendly
3 Blitzers
4 Blockers
4 Linemen
3 Rerolls
Total 980k
We are swapping one Blitzer for one extra reroll. The Blitzers are really good, but Brettonians have a hard time in the early games as they have no skills to handle the ball.

Chaos

Newbie friendly
7 Beastmen
4 Chaos Warriors
3 Rerolls
Total 1000K

You get most of what you need by skipping the Big Guy.

Minotaur build
7 Beastmen
3 Chaos Warriors
1 Minotaur
2 Rerolls
Total 990k

With the Big Guy you’re forced to make some hard choices when it comes to rerolls and Chaos Warriors. On the other hand if you want to play with the Minotaur you might as well get it early.

DLC – Wood Elves

Can almost afford an Apo-build
2 Wardancers
9 Linemen
2 Rerolls
Total 970k

No apo, but more rerolls
1 Wardancer
10 Linemen
3 Rerolls
Total 970k

Look a Treeman
1 Treeman
1 Wardancer
9 Linemen
2 Rerolls
Total 970k

Wood Elves don’t need a Big Guy, but you can buy one if you want I guess.

DLC – Lizardmen

Common
1 Kroxigor
4 Skinks
6 Saurus
2 Rerolls
No Apo
Total 980k

This allows you to start with all the high strength pieces. But with no Apo for the first game or two you might lose a skink early and be sad.

Newbie friendly
5 Skinks
6 Saurus
3 Rerolls
No Apo
Total 960k

You’ll miss out on the Big Guy but get an extra reroll. Which is nice if you are a beginner.

Safety build?
6 Skinks
5 Saurus
3 Rerolls
1 Apo

You’re losing out on strength on the team but you do get 3 rerolls and 1 Apothecary. I haven’t tried this build but it seems pretty risky, and it might take a while before you get your last Saurus and the Krox. Two pieces you want on your team.

DLC – Norse

Semi safe start.
2 Ulfwereners
2 of either Blitzers or Runners or 1 of each
7 Linemen
3 Rerolls
1 Apothecary

Snow Troll build
2 Ulfwereners
1 Snow Troll
8 Linemen
3 Rerolls
1 Apothecary

Enough players to stay of the pitch build
2 Ulfwereners
11 Linemen
3 Rerolls
1 Apothecary

All of these build have the Ulfwereners and the Apo, with AV7 on everyone else and no reliable dodge away you need so extra security to make sure you have enough players on the pitch in the second half.

DLC – Undead

Classic start
2 Mummies
2 Wights
3 Ghouls
4 Zombies or Skeletons

3 Rerolls

More Ghouls, less rerolls
2 Mummies
2 Wights
4 Ghouls
3 Zombies or Skeletons

2 Rerolls

In general you can mix and match the Zombies and Skeletons, if you are putting them on the LoS zombies are a bit better. I prefer to have a Skeleton or two since they have higher movement and can more easily find fouling targets.

DLC – Necromantic

Get the Golems
1 Werewolf
2 Flesh Golems
2 Wights
1 Ghoul
5 Zombies

3 Rerolls

Skip the flesh golems
2 Werewolves
2 Wights
2 Ghouls
5 Zombies

3 Rerolls

You can get ghouls later
2 Werewolves
2 Flesh Golems
2 Wights
5 Zombies

2 Rerolls

I kind of like skipping the ghouls early since they are the easiest to level up. On the other hand, by doing that you only have 4 players with ag3.

DLC – Nurgle

3 RR and a Beast
6 Rotters
1 Pestigor
3 Nurgle Warriors
1 Beast of Nurgle

3 Rerolls

2 rerolls, if you believe that Nuffle smiles upon you
1 Beast of Nurgle
4 Nurgle Warriors
1 Pestigors
5 Rotters

2 Rerolls

The boring build without the beast
3 Nurgle Warriors
3 Pestigors
5 Rotters

3 Rerolls

For Nurgle I prefer to get The Beast early since she’s hard to level up, 3 rerolls are also needed since they have no skills to start with. The slowly but surely spend all your money buying Pestigors
