Overview
I’m assuming that you’re reading this because you thought my basic controller control guide was excellent. Now, you’re probably here, wanting to squeeze some info out of me.I’ve taught you how to handle the game’s controlsBut now I hear you scream, ” F*ck the online mode! It’s full of tough or cheap players! They all call me a no0b! “*sigh* Well, I’m going to teach you one simple ” loop ” or ” infinite ” that can be performed with one of the mostoverrated characters in the game: Doctor Doom. Simply to prove a point.Wanna beat the crap out of annoying jerks already? What are you waiting for? Foot-dive into this manual already!
Chapter One: What is a Loop?
In Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, a Loop is simply a term used to replace the word, ” infinite. ”
That’s right. It’s a several-hit chain combo that goes on and on again until one of your opponent’s character gets KO’d.
Why is this useful? Well, so that your opponent ends up being trapped by an endless spiral of ” doom, ” (pun TOTALLY not intended) at a point where they give up, accept that victory is hopeless, throw their controller onto their PC screen or across the room and start yelling in agony. Sounds like something you want to do to a pro player or some random jerk online screaming at you to get better, right?
There are many specials, hyper combos, characters, and different combos in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. (UMvC3 Basics #3 – Terminology, coming soon.)
You probably watched YouTube videos in awe, as you saw your favorite pro-player or YouTuber pull off many flashy infinites, or loops, or endless combos.
Of course, like any game or disciplinary art, you must start with the basics….
….which is why I will teach you how to do a simple Doctor Doom Loop. Trust me, this is probably the easiest loop to pull in the game.
Chapter Two: Understanding the required inputs for this combo.
You might be fretting right now, screaming, ” There are fighting game inputs for this too? Aw man, I can’t learn this at all! It’s way too complicated! “
Fear not! This loop in particular doesn’t require any necessary skill!
Here are buttons you need (XBOX Controller):
X – Light (L) – Optional way to start a combo, you’ll get a lot of hit-combos!
Y – Medium (M) – Optional way to start a combo, you’ll get one hit less than when you start a combo with a light attack
B – Heavy (H) – Optional way to start a combo, but is EXTREMELY important if you want the loop to be successfully pulled.
A – Special (S) – REQUIRED to start the air combo and continue the loop-chain.
Now, here is the only input you’re going to need:
LS (leaned left or right) + H = Foot Dive
Got that memorized? Now to teach you how to perform this loop… Onwards, to the next chapter!
Chapter Three: Actually performing this loop
Continuing from the previous chapter, I hope you got everything down! This doesn’t require much skill, but requires precision and patience.
In this guide, I’m going to start this combo directly with an S attack:
Afterwards, follow-up by jumping and performing an air-M attack:
And another air-M attack afterwards:
And follow-up with Left + H or Right + H afterwards:
And then follow-up with an air-S:
Having fun foot-diving your opponent like a pancake? This is where things get tricky.
You see how your opponent is lying down on the ground?
Don’t hesitate to give yourself an opportunity to REALLY punish your opponent by following up with an H attack:
:
Afterwards, follow-up with an S attack, just like how you started:
Afterwards, REPEAT EVERYTHING!!!!
To make it simpler for you, these are all you have to do:
1. S attack
2. Jump, then M attack
3. Do another M attack
4. > + H or < + H depending on your opponent’s direction
5. S attack
6. H attack
7. S attack
8. Repeat
To make it even more simple (XBOX Controller Buttons):
A, Tap LS Upwards, Y, Y, Right on LS + B, A, (on ground) H, S, and then repeat!
Outro (Conclusion) and Preview for Upcoming Guide!
If you’re stuck, try again! Pulling off infinites are a bit complicated and intimidating at first!
” I’m sorry, but the amount of hits you pulled off in each screenshot doesn’t match up with each other. That shows that the combo isn’t a confirm and this guide is a sham. ”
Sorry, then. Taking screenshots while playing and then putting it altogether into one simple guide isn’t easy. Use this combo for yourself and keep practicing until you realize that you were stupid for saying that and that this guide was useful overall! (And gimme a break for my hard work, too!)
Other than that, I hope my second Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom guide helped you take one step further into your journey of climbing out of the beginners’ shell!
