Overview
A list of how to spare all monsters and bosses! (Credit to [ ], I’m just making this more accesible.)
How 2 Spare
Dummy – Talk once
Froggit – Either Flirt or Threaten once
Whimsun – (Can be spared right away) Console once (Whimsun runs away without attacking), for gold Terrorize once
Moldsmal – (Can be spared right away) For gold, either Imitate or Flirt once
Napstablook – Cheer four times (Tip: DO NOT Threaten him after he has done his hat trick, otherwise his attacks get much harder and you need to cheer him a lot afterwards)
Loox – Don’t Pick On once
Vegetoid – Dinner, then touch the green vegetable during his attack
Migosp – Always appears with another enemy (Vegetoid or Moldsmal), can be spared immediately after the other enemy has been beaten/spared
Toriel (BOSS) – Continuously Spare until she gives up (approx 24 times) Also, when your HP gets low enough, her attacks will purposefully avoid you so it’s pretty hard to die in her battle
SNOWDIN
Snowdrake – Check once, then Laugh once
Ice Cap – Ignore twice, Steal once, then Compliment once
Doggo – Pet twice
Lesser Dog – Pet once, OR if you want gold, pet until Lesser Dog’s head has gone above the screen
Jerry – Ditch Jerry. No one likes Jerry.
Dogamy and Dogaressa – Roll Around once, Re-sniff once (doesn’t matter which name you click on when doing this), Pet Dogamy once, Pet Dogaressa once
Gyftrot – Undecorate three times
Greater Dog – Beckon, Pet, Play, Pet twice
Papyrus (BOSS) – Flirt or Insult once, then Continuously Spare (approx. 20 times)
(Special note for Snowdin: All dog bosses can be immediately spared if you use the stick on them, however this does not give them a yellow name in the credits)
WATERFALL
Aaron – Flex three times
Woshua – Clean, then touch the green bullet
Shyren – Hum five times
Mad Dummy – Continuously spare (approx 13 times)
Moldbygg – Unhug once
Special Enemy Temmie – Talk once OR for gold, buy temmie flakes and make sure they’re in your inventory when you encounter Temmie. Feed Temmie Flakes and choose the yes option.
Undyne (BOSS) – Keep sparing until you get the option to flee, then Flee. Repeat, and keep fleeing until you make it to Hotland
(Special note for Waterfall: To make Aaron’s name yellow in the credits, go to Napstablook’s house, and play one of his Spook tunes. Then, leave his house, and go directly down so you’re at the area where the save point is. Walk around and you’ll have an “encounter” with Aaron and Woshua that I won’t spoil ;))
HOTLAND
Vulkin – Encourage or Hug once
Tsunderplane – Approach, then touch green areas around the planes (need to touch at least 4 I think)
Pyrope – Heat Up twice
Royal Guards – To RG 02, Clean Armor and touch the green armor symbol thing in the middle approx. 6 times. Then, to RG 01, Whisper once
Muffet (BOSS) – If you bought either a Spider Donut or Spider Cider and still have it on you, use it for your first turn in her battle, as it will let you skip the whole fight. If not, continuously spare until she gets the telegram (approx. 14 times)
CORE
Madjick – Stare twice (once at the chaser orb, then once at the corner orb)
Whimsalot – Pray once
Final Froggit – Mystify once
Astigmatism – Pick on once, or Don’t Pick on once (For this attack, pay attention to what Astigmatism says before its attack. If it says “Don’t pick on me”, don’t pick on it and vice versa)
Knight Knight – Sing twice
Mettaton EX (BOSS) – An easy way to get to 10K ratings is by posing while you have low health. There’s isn’t really one set way to beat him so yeah . Good things to keep in mind: Eating anything you buy from the hotel fast food place will give a nice boost to the ratings (especially face steak). Use the stick for a lot of ratings. During the essay question, “legs” gives you the most points. Good luck!
END OF NEUTRAL RUN
Asgore (BOSS) – Just keep attacking then when given the choice, spare him (Tip: talk to him three times to lower his attack and defense, and if you’ve kept the butterscotch pie, eat that in the battle with him to also lower his attack+defense)
Photoshop Flowey (BOSS) – Oh god, just try not to die ok? Get the green things, avoid EVERYTHING ELSE and you should be good ᶫᵒʳᵈ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵐᵉʳᶜʸ And spare him continuously after he has been “defeated”
TRUE LAB
Memoryhead – To either A B or C, Cell once, then to either of the three, Refuse once
Lemon bread – Unhug once, Flex once, Hum once
Endogeny – Beckon once, Pet once, Play once, Pet once OR use the stick once (which makes him immediately spareable but doesn’t allow you to get a yellow name)
Snowdrake’s mom – Joke three times
Reaper Bird – Pray once, Mystify once, Pick On once
TRUE PACIFIST END
Asriel (BOSS obviously…) – Tip: Make sure your intense tears and feels don’t block your vision. Dream gives you healing items, Hope reduces the damage you’ll take for the turn. Continuously Dream Hope or Spare to go through his dialogue. For the lost souls, any/all choices are fine. For the single souls, you have to act three times, for the double souls, four times (doesn’t matter which soul you choose to act on).
