Updated Crafting Guide, Some Stats and Stuff

Overview

An updated crafting guide for Royal Heroes with special items

Basics

Hi, Like CdrGrimReaper this is my first guide. I used his crafting guide a lot in playing when getting started (thanks!) and borrowed from it for this updated version (and then took stuff from Badim’s page). Anyway, for content I started with absolute basics for those just getting started, others just skim 🙂

Spoilers – Guide contains spoilers as the standard recipes are collected during the game with blueprints although special recipes are not.

note: Clicking heroes and enemies in the encyclopedia / achievement screen will give either a skill book, raid ticket or blueprint so can be helpful for getting more blueprints.

Crafting Basics

Drag and drop materials into the correct combination and push create to craft new items. You can also click the item and then each time you click in the magic box it will put one in the square.

Items in the blacksmith shop have power ratings and you dont need all the items to be the same. In the pic is the combination for boots with 2 x iron and 2 x adamantin. It is expected that it will make steel boots (although there always the possibility of making an item 1-2 tiers above or below the expected)

Standard Equipment

Sets and Tiers

The three classes of heroes each have different sets designed for them.
Melee = metal sets
Archers = thread sets and
Mages = magic sets.

Weapons also form part of the set with bows being part of the thread sets for archers, staffs in the magic sets for mages and all other standard weapons being metal sets for melee fighters.

Using all basic materials at the same power level or having the overall equivalent as shown in boots (further up) will create an item of that tier level.
ie. 1 x teak (power 2) and 2 x iron (power 2) will usually create an iron sword which is tier 2 and iron set.

A hero with multiple items of the same set will get a bonus.
Thread sets first get a bonus with 2 items and an extra bonus with each set item up to 6
Metal and Magic sets also get the first bonus with 2 items but stop getting bonuses at 5

Armor and Accessories
Additional Items

Rings and a 2nd type of amulet (made with thread and magic) can also be crafted
Rings can be one of three types (random)
type 1: ‘xxx Ring of Poison’ – named by magic type so void ring of poison etc (1% damage and 1 second poison for fire up to 5% and 5 seconds for void). These are part of thread set for archers.
type 2: ‘Deadly xxx Ring’ – also named by magic type. (tier x 5 damage and tier x 1 critical chance) so fire +5 damage & 1% crit chance, void +25 damage & 5% crit. Also part of thread set for archers.
type 3: ‘xxx Rings of the magic hunter’ also named for magic element, they give a boost to damage and resist (tier x5 damage, tier x 10 resist). They are not part of any set. They can be recycled as a normal item based on tier.

The 2nd amulet will randomly give either an
‘xxx amulet of survival’ Part of the threads sets and gives armor and dodge boost (tier x 5 armor & 4-8% dodge based on tier) or
‘xxx amulet of the magic hunter’ which gives 10-40 hit points and 5-25 resist based on tier. Unlike the rings these are part of the metal sets.

Recycling

Unwanted items can be transformed into a random item of the next higher tier. Items dont have to be the same type or the same set but do have to be same tier so cotton cape, old sandals and bronze sword together would create a random tier 2 item.

Prices increases for each tier, place items as below and push create

Miscellanous Items

Healing Potions

3 x experience potions in a row create a healing potion that can be equipped as an accessory item for any hero.

Runes

Runes are made with wood surrounded by the same tier of magic. They can also be equipped by any hero as an accessory.

Scrolls

A scroll is made from a rune of desired scroll type surrounded by blueprints

Tier 6 and 7 special items

Tier 6 Special Items
The Broken Sword

After each warp you get a ‘broken sword’, surround it with blueprints and pay 25000 gold to create the ‘BFS’ (Mithril Set)

Neodersy Staff

A very strong staff usable by any mage. Void staff in the middle, healing potions on either side and a void rune above. Cost 25000

Beast Spear

Take a mithril spear and surround it with fire magic and pay 25000 gold to create the Beast Spear which is part of the Silk set (usable by elven 3 star archers and some melee fighters but not 2 star archers)

Ukonvasara Hammer

When you have a Mithril hammer the blacksmith will talk about the Blacksmith ABC’s and say how H is for Hammer. Put Mithril Hammer in the Middle, blueprints on left and fire runes on the right to create a H pattern. Pay 25000 gold and you will have Ukonvasara.

Tier 7
Mjolnir

When you next enter the blacksmith and Ukonvasara is not equipped by a hero, he will continue with ABC’s saying about letter T. Put Ukonvasara in top center with air scrolls on both sides and fire runes below. Pay 25000 to create Mjolnir

Weapon Stats

Weapon Stats

All the stats for the various weapons

Neodersy also adds 50 Mana / Magic points

Equipment

Rather than try and list all the equipment I’ve just shown the top piece for each type

The lower tiers give the same types of bonus just not as strong.

Although weapons are specific to the type of hero, the rest of the equipment is not so you can give heroes equipment from other sets i.e. a mage can have a full set of mithril armor, boots and helm etc if you want.

This goes for accessories too (so I listed all the types together), if you say wanted a melee fighter to do poison damage you could give them 2 x poison tip quivers and get 20% magic damage and 6 seconds of poison. This lets us play with different builds which I will get to later.

Set Bonuses

You get a bonus for having at least 2 items from the same set and tier. It is possible to get multiple bonuses for multiple sets i.e A hero with 2 x bronze items, 2 cotton items and 2 fire items will get +10 hit points for bronze and +10 damage for cotton and +10 damage for fire.

of note is that 5 magic items of the same type will give a 30% bonus so it is often better for a mage to have all their items of the same type rather than a mix of levels.

Special Sets

There are five special sets of equipment, each made up of six pieces.

6 Levels / Maps will give you a piece of the R’HA the God special set, defeating the skyscraper on Windy Island will give a piece of the Chris the Messenger Set and two random pieces from any set are given each time you warp.

The sets and stats are below

R’HA the God

Weapon: Sword – Usable by Melee Fighters and airbender (pref sword or wand)
Combination armor and resist.
Strong troop bonuses

Chris the Messenger

Weapon: Whip – no heroes preferred weapon but usuable by anyone
Aura Speed gained with all six items allows Hero and troops (or anyone in the aura space) to jump/teleport directly to within range

Adam the Supporter

Weapon: Super Mace – Usuable by heroes that can use a hammer (Phoenix hammer and dwarf regardless of their preferred weapon)

DN the Engineer

Weapon: Super Staff – Mages
Complete set gives 5% instakill and 20 seconds poison

Tiodor the Artist

Weapon: Chop-Chop Axe – usuable by melee fighters who can wield an axe
High damage and hit points

Heroes

I got to the point where I wanted to build the perfect team 🙂 and was trying to compare various heroes at various levels with different equipment, preferred weapons etc so I decided to see what they were like once they were at high levels with maxed skills etc.

So I warped (lvl 12 not that should make a difference) and chose 25 different heroes and started leveling. But there are more than 25 combinations so I had to leave some out. Those missed are the 1 star heroes, dwarf (both hammer and axe), high elf (scythe), pirate (sword), paladin (spear), phoenix hammer (axe), airbender (sword) and necros (scythe).

I took them all to level 62 so that all skills are maxed and compared with no equipment and then a standard set for their class. What I didn’t do though was note the starting bonus that some have so there might be some small variation because of this.

The max dps column is when mouse over the dps for the hero (which includes critical chance/damage).

For some people this is not going to be of interest but I thought seeing how I’d collected the info I might as well put in here.

Level 62 Mages

With no equipment and then with Neodersy wand, Void Robe, Royal Sandals, Royal Diadem and 2 x Royal Books (I kept the same for the 2 star healer even though more likely to use void books for increased healing).

All at level 5 for their spell, Airbender, Genie and Succubus are all lightning, Necros is curse but I dont think any of that would make a difference.

I tried to find a good map to put them all through one at a time to add to the comparison but it didn’t really work with the healer dying and the lightning destroying swathes of enemies so it is just stats

Archers

2 star archer then the 3 star with preferred weapon of spear and bow

equipped with nothing and then with Redwood bow (Silk) and with Beast Spear. Other equipment was Royal Cape, Boots and Helm. There are a number of accessory choices so I went with 2 x void tip quivers for each.

3 Star Melee / Fighters

I seperated the 3 star from the 4 star fighters so it isn’t such a big page of numbers.

Equipment is none and then with Mithril Weapon, Armor, Boots and Helm. I generally use a mix of accessories for my fighters but wanted a standard comparison so gave them all 1 x Void amulet of the magic hunter (HP +40, Resist +25) and a Tough Void Amulet (HP +80). I also added the BFS for those with sword preference.

4 star Melee / Fighters

Same as before but with the 4 star fighters

Troops

Troops for the heroes are below, unfortunately I didn’t get any skeleton warriors so can’t include them

Working out specific builds and who to give the special sets is to come 🙂

Specific Builds

Using the heros from above we can test builds (at least statistically)

Armor and resist etc are obvious and some have only have a few option ie healing which can only be improved via books and the speed of any hero can be improved with sandals.

Poison

2 x Poison Tips (quivers) – 6 seconds poison (120 damage) + 20% magic damage +20 damage (linen set)
or
2 x Void Ring of Poison – 10 seconds poison (200 damage) + 10% damage +30 damage (silk set)
using barbarian with no other equipment – quivers dps 906 + 6 secs – rings dps 856 + 10 secs

Boosting Experience

Putting sandals and 2 x damage based books will give any hero experience bonus (can be good if you are trying 1 or 2 heroes up – or trying to get the whole team to the same level 😉
at maximum royal sandals and 2 x royal books = +30% experience, 10% speed, 50% magic damage and +20 damage (void set)

Max Troop Damage

Armor vs HP vs Dodge
An elf archer with beast spear, Royal Cape, Boots and amulets of survival gave 112% dodge and so I happily sent them on their own against 2 Jackali where they were quickly wiped out 🙁

Every 20 armor gives a 1% reduction. A knight with mithril sword, armor, boots and helm and 2 x void amulets of survival has the highest of the 4 star heroes using standard equipment with 370 armor. This gives a 78% reduction as well 3380 hit points and 630 dps (picking up +30 damage from the silk set).

Keeping to the mithril set the option is tough void amulet or void amulet of the magic hunter, either of which gives 5% (which I haven’t accounted for). Working with the 2 x tough amulet for +160hp (the magic hunter amulet is +40 hp and resist) gives the knight 320 armor (76% red.) 3556 hit points and 577 dps.

According to the encyclopedia 2 strongest enemies can each do 180dps.
so with 0.76 reduction and 3556 hit points the knight should last 82 seconds
and with 0.78 reduction and 3380 hit points the knight would last 85.35 seconds
working on multiple enemies doing 1000dps
0.76 / 3556 lasts 14.8 seconds
0.78 / 3380 lasts 15.3 seconds

Not a lot between the 2 options. 0.76 has block although 0.78 lasts a little longer and a little higher dps. So using the 0.78 build here are the other heroes (high elf is using spear, zealot and shadow knight have scythe)

Of note: The 3 star pheonix sword has slightly higher armor but still 78% and the difference between the phoenix sword, paladin and knight taking 1000 dps is only around 1 second.

The barbarian only gets 77% reduction but has higher HP so would actually last the longest. It also has the higher dps as well.

So tank units in order of how long they would last is barbarian -> knight -> phoenix sword ->
paladin. After that it is drop and probably worth looking at a different config.
