Using I.D.P.D To your advantage

Overview

Welcome! Today i will show you how to use the pesky I.D.P.D to your advantage!

The kinds of I.D.P.D.

Hello! welcome to my guide! Today, i will show you how to use the I.D.P.D to your advantage, as I said before.

First off, the types of I.D.P.D.

Grunt

Basic enemy, does all the dirty work. Can roll, and throw grenades as well.

Next up

Shielder

This guy can be tough to beat, as he has a shield that will reflect all bullets that you shoot (Except laser, lightning, explosions, and melee swings) not only can he deflect a lot of things, but he also shoots a large group of 8 shots with small spread.
The Shielders Shield can’t be bypassed by bolts. They get stuck inside of the shield, and when the shield goes down, the bolt is able to hit the Shielder.
Were half way, almost there.

Inspector

This guy is no joke. He has telepathy similar to Eyes ability, not only that, but he has an I.D.P.D Slugger that will do 5 damage per shot! So, i recommend you don’t get hit by one.

Now that were over with the easy guys… It’s time for the more complex IDPD
The Elite versions of the IDPD Only appear after looping.

Elite Grunt

He’s kinda like before, except more beefier. Instead of throwing grenades he shoots a rocket once in a while, How do ya like THEM apples?

This ones pretty scary.

Elite Shielder

This guy looks pretty cool, you must admit. Anyways, this guy’s shield is exactly like the old shielders shield. Plot twist, he has a plasma minigun. Yep, you heard me right, and did i mention that the lasers it shoots can destroy walls? Yeah… Good luck with him.
As i said before, bolts pass through the Elite Shielder’s Shield as well
And last, but not least.

Elite Inspector

The IDPD aren’t joking around this time.. This guy’s gotta sword. A laser sword infact. He can reflect your bullets, although they don’t hit you, they only hit enemies. Which is odd but… Thats how it is. He works sorta like the assasin in the way he moves and does damage with his blade (The blade of both do 8 damage)

Hats off to the Nuclear Throne Wiki for providing me with most of the info about the elites and the GIF’s of the IDPD. I’m too bad to loop ;-;

How they can help

Okay, here’s the part you’ve been waiting for.

How the I.D.P.D. can help you.

If the I.D.P.D. spawn by a bunch of enemies, wait for them to throw a grenade, it will hurt the enemies nearby.

You can get Shielder to reflect some bullets from your gun and hurt a few enemies.

Reversal! You can also get enemies to help you fight the I.D.P.D. if your having trouble!

Having enemies fire at the I.D.P.D. The enemies and I.D.P.D. won’t fight, but they can hurt one another. Just trick an enemy into firing at the I.D.P.D.

Mutant Specific Tricks

The ones that have (VV) in the beginning are able to be done to the enemy or I.D.P.D.

(VV) Fish: Roll around and trick the enemy to hit the I.D.P.D!

(VV) Crystal: Deflect their bullets! (Especially Inspector bullets)

(VV) Eyes: Bring them toward the enemy.

(VV?) Melting: Blow up their bodies? Not sure about this guy.

(VV) Plant: Snare them and make them shoot enemies in front of you.

(VV) Y.V: Pop Pop can add extra knockback to a hit, so you can launch a enemy to a IDPD unit. Curtousy of Albert Einstein (On Crack)

The rest are self explanatory, or too easy to figure out.
