Overview
A common problem with Valkyria Chronicles is the full screen mode. The game will stretch outside the monitor boundaries and the desktop will be partially visible. If you try to force borderless windowed mode the resolution will reset to default and changing back to your native resolution will give you the same full screen problem. The solution is a simple option you enable by going into the game folder.
Game Root Folder
Navigate into the root folder of Valkyria Chronicles.
C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonValkyria Chronicles
Find the Valkyria.exe file at the bottom of the window and right click on it and select Properties.
Navigate to the Compatibility tab and look for the option “Disable Full Screen Optimizations”.
Ironically this is the option causing the problem for most players. Go ahead and Enable this option and apply the settings. Now you should get the proper full screen effect next time you launch the game!
People started reporting this problem after the Windows 10 Creators Update. Not sure why the update broke the Valkyria Chronicles but this solution shouldn’t have an impact on how the game performs.
