Guide Overview

Thanks a lot for using this guide. These take many hours of work to put together, so I hope you can spare 3 seconds to give it a rating, because it really helps. If you find this guide extra helpful, please also consider giving it an award!

I was initially going to make this guide a map of all the worlds in Vivian Clark, because I couldn’t find any useful information in any existing guides, but I soon came to realize that this would be far too complicated a task, and since the game is best experienced when shrouded in mystery, I decided to make this instead. This guide contains the complete guidebook in Vivian Clark for you to use to make the game just a little less confusing (the guidebook itself is still very confusing). As a bonus, I have also included a few helpful tips, which I have dubbed Soda Drinker Protips™.

Turtles can be used in-game

Using a soda turtle brings you to the previous world, supposedly where you died, but what you may not know is that you can use a turtle to go back to the previous world without dying. For example, lets say you wanted to reach the end of a platforming world, but you fell off, and falling off doesn’t kill you in this world, it just brings you to a new world, with a different mini-game. After falling off, just wait until you arrive in the new world, and then use the turtle, and you will be brought back to the platforming world, letting you have another shot at it. Be warned however, as you cannot string multiple turtle uses together, so if you accidentally enter a world, and then die or enter yet another world before you get the chance to use the turtle and go back, you cannot use two turtles in a row to go back twice. Doing this will just bring you to the previous world with the first turtle, and then the second turtle will put you back in the world you used the first turtle in, basically nullifying the effects of the first turtle and wasting two turtles.

Turtles can still be used when the fire is out

This one is pretty self explanatory. Using a turtle and then dying still lowers the level of your fire, but using a turtle when you have no fire left and then dying has absolutely no consequence, so it is best to save all of you turtles for when your fire goes out, unless using them is absolutely necessary. However, there is one downside to using this strategy, which is gone over in the tip below.

It costs extra to relight the fire

If you die with 1 log left in your fire, you will have 0 logs left, and the fire will go out. Attempting to enter the fire when you have 0 logs left gives you a game over. What many people fail to realize is that if you buy a log when your fire is out, it does not give you a log. Buying a log while your fire is out only re-lights the fire, and you will still have 0 logs left after buying it, so entering the fire will still result in a game over. This means that you will need to spend another 30 collects to buy a second log, just to bring your log count up to 1 so you can keep playing, making buying a log for an extinguished fire cost 60 collects, not the usual 30. Because of this, it is recommended to buy logs as soon as you have enough for them, instead of saving your collects and buying logs only when you need them.

Grinding for collects

The best way to grind for collects is as follows:

  1. Enter the fire
  2. Touch as many clouds as possible as you ascend
  3. Transform into a cloud
  4. Play the rain level, avoiding other worlds and grabbing as many collects as you can. (You should get at least 70-80 collects each time)
  5. Continue playing the game as normal until you die
  6. Spend 30 collects to add a log to the fire
  7. Rinse and repeat Precipitate and repeat
