water rides how to

Overview

from how to create paddle boats to placing splash battle targets. this step by step guide tells you how to create, control and theme water rides in theme park sim Parkitect

intro

in most real-life parks there is at least 1 ride designed to get you soaked or interacts with water. the same mostly applies if you make a park in parkitect. from scenic diving submarine rides to fast and thrilling water coasters here is how you create and theme water rides.

NOTE: this guide does not go into detail about rides in the Parkitect DLC (the rowboats and river rapids). It mainly focuses on the default rides.

paddle boats and bumper boats

paddle boats are peddling rides powered by guests to move along water. bumper boats are bumper cars on water. Each bumper/paddle boat ride has a changeable time for how long each car is out the station.

paddle and bumper boats are easy to make. first create water

then select paddle boat or bumper boat and build it

then use the arrows in the circle to extend the boat ride backwards to create more station.

then build entrance and exit and your all set. to boarder off areas of river use boys found in scenery, props, water

if you want you can change the paddle boat cars from swan boats to generic

calm river rides and log flumes

often found in real life parks calm rivers and log flumes use water channels to move and automatically chain lift when they go up. they use the coaster builder and are popular in summer months. if built well these rides have long lines and high excitement. log flumes have steep drops and get guests wet. calm rivers have small non-steep drops and spin in the water channel.log flumes and calm rivers are designed for theming here is some inspiration

splash battle

splash battles are interactive water rides where guests can fire water guns at targets, other boats and guests off the ride and are built using the coaster builder. where brakes are in normal coaster builder is interactive features. the one with the mini target is how you build targets that guests shoot at. The other button which looks like a water gun disables/enables shooting (first time you build it it disables guns 2nd time you build it enables guns). this ride is most popular in summer months.

submarines

submarines are slow scenic water rides built with the coaster builder. However, unlike other tracked rides submarines can dive under the water level without tunnelling. submarines are slow rides that are easy to theme. here is some inspiration

other water rides

not every water ride is in the water ride menu. here is a brief list of water rides that are not in the water rides tab

1) water coasters are in the coaster tab. they are a giga coaster/log flume hybrid capable of helixes, steep drops and big splashes into water using the splashdown feature as shown in photo.

2) boat transport is in the transport tab. they can only be built on water and carry substantial amounts of guests in jungle cruise esk boats.
