The Escapists 2 Guide

What the Multi-Tool is and why it's Great (kinda) for The Escapists 2

What the Multi-Tool is and why it’s Great (kinda)

Overview

This guide will describe what the Multi-Tool does, and why it’s pretty good to have.

Section 1: What is the Multi-Tool?

If you’ve never heard of or crafted the Multi-Tool, honestly, most people are in the same boat as you.

The multi-tool is THE most powerful Digging/Chipping tool in the game.

It’s crafting recipe is as follows: Sturdy Pickaxe, Sturdy Shovel, and Duct tape
(Base Crafting): 5 Timber, 7 Duct Tape, 3 Sheet Metal, 1 Crowbar, 2 Files
And requires 70 Intelligence to craft.

The Multi-Tool can break up to 10 tiles total which is ABSOLUTELY INSANE!

The tool requires 15 Stamina per each use.

and yes, it is contraband.

The Multi-Tool can also be used as a weapon, with stats similar to the Normal Baton (Not to be confused with the Metal Baton)

Section 2: Why the Multi-Tool is good

The Multi-Tool is one of the most powerful items in all of Escapists 2

-Because it can mine up to 10 tiles, this makes mining much less of a hassle.

-The addition of long range and high damage makes it good if you’re mining expedition gets cut short by a wandering guard.

-The 50% damage to walls and ground from the multi-tool allows for some quick mining if you’re in a hurry to escape.

-The Multi-Tool does not require any extremely difficult-to-obtain items to craft (the hardest being the Crowbar in my opinion).

-The Multi-Tool, using the Sturdy Pick and Sturdy shovel, adds and extra 2 tiles to be broken, at the cost of just 1 Duct Tape.

Section 3: Why the Multi-Tool isn’t so great

Although the Multi-Tool is extremely powerful at what it does, it of course has it’s downsides.

-It costs 15 Stamina to use, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but after 6 uses from 100 Stamina, you’ll have run out.

-For most people like me who escape the prison but very fast, usually the multi-tool is just too out there for how fast I’d go, as it takes 70 intelligence to craft, and Sturdy Pick and Shovel. (For context, usually all that is needed is a Sturdy Pick OR a Sturdy Shovel to escape.)

-It’s sad to fully use. Once you’ve used up the Multi-Tool, it’s gone and you’ll have to make another one if you want another one. This is heartbreaking to most casual players as you’ve probably already given it a name. Don’t worry, I always name my Multi-Tools, so if you do do that, you’re not alone. (RIP Matt the Multi-Tool 6/3/2020-6/3/2020)

Section 4: Concluding statements

In the end, the Multi-Tool is really for big memeing and making HUGE tunnels very quickly (apart from needing timber braces every 3 tiles.

Multi-Tools CAN come in handy sometimes, but I often do not use them.

Multi-Tools are the Saviors of casual players, and I mean it. Nothing says “Casual Run” other than “Tool that mines a ton and doesn’t break so easily”. And of course, no offense to you casual gamers, do what you want, you bought the game lmao. I’m just here to tell you about the Multi-Tool.

That about wraps up my stupid guide, thanks for reading.
Hopefully I’ll make a ton MORE stupid guides for you to read and possibly learn something you didn’t know.

As they say in Japan, Adios!
