Whats next

Overview

A shorter version to the ‘Robot lore’ guide. The ‘Whats next’ guide supports the initial and later game explorations.. Initial game exploration relies on the easiest means to cross game spaces.. Later game exploration taps space-to-space connections unlocked during initial exploration.

Foreword

The ‘Tutorial’ section suggests some items to keep in inventory.

Both ‘Robot lore’ and ‘Whats next’ guides’ secondary objective is naming game locations

. The ‘Nomenclature’ section explains my thinking on words and phrases.
. That is, to have some location names when describing an issue in a discussion post.

The ‘Game exploration’ section explains ‘Robot lore’ and ‘Whats next’ guide relationship.

The ‘Guide use strategy’ section points to other available game guides.

The ‘Other guidance’ section covers all player support.

Tutorial

Useful game play items: Potato seeds, planting soil, preserve jars, recycled material.

. Provides resources useful for Workbench purchases such as chests, recyclers, etc.

Game exploration

Whats next’ and ‘Robot lore’ guides are meant to be used together.

The ‘Robot lore’ guide is meant to give the new player an overall perspective of game space.

The ‘Whats next’ guide has two purposes:

1. Assist in the initial game exploration.
2. Serve as a reference in later game navigation.

Nomenclature

An explanation of my thinking in naming game locations:

Navigation cues: ‘→’ = sub-space opening; ‘;’ = additional sub-space access.

Ellen’s farm, The village and Lonely hills describe the Nplh game spaces.

. ‘farm’, ‘village’ and ‘hills’ serve as a means to point to the space that a sub-space is in.

Use of ‘Main’, ‘Auxiliary’ and ‘Extension’ = first, second and third.

Sub-space naming: Space reference + sub-space function (+ sub-space shape)

. ‘bridge’ means an overhead path … usually crossing a river.
. ‘bridge + teleport’ means the overhead path leads to two doors ‘teleporting’.
. ‘channel’ means a short connection between two or more sub-spaces.
. ‘connection’ is the collective term for: ‘bridge’, ‘path’ or ‘teleport’.
. ‘division’ means that a sub-space is divided into smaller pieces.
. ‘passage’ means a winding path connecting sub-spaces.
. ‘path’ means there is a road within a sub-space or division.
. ‘plain’ means the ground referred to is mostly flat.
. ‘plateau’ means a plain on a hill or mountain.
. ‘slide’ is handled similar to teleport but is a disc that Ellen stands on.
. ‘teleport’ means two doors that Ellen approaches and keys ‘e’ to switch sub-spaces.

Sub-space shape mimics the shape of the letter in quotes.

‘Grey balls plain’ = a sub-space with an object (grey balls) unique to it.

Ellen’s farm

Gain experience fighting spiders (enemies) and cleaning up trash.

Main farm → bridge + teleport ; Auxiliary farm → Extension: bridge, ‘L’,’O’ → Village slide

. The Extension is in 3 parts: the bridge, and a fence dividing the ‘L’ & ‘O’ sub-spaces.

. Player must obtain the ‘Rubble’ drill upgrade in order to enter the Auxiliary farm.

.. The Village channel shop sells the recipe (blueprint) for the ‘Rubble’ drill upgrade.

. The Extension ‘O’ shop has recipe (blueprint) for the ‘Electric waste’ drill upgrade.

.. The Main farm’s Workbench is required to activate shop purchases.

The Village

What is left of Ellen’s grandparents community … just shops and houses needing repair.

Ellen can travel, initially (After electric waste upgrade):

. Main village → Auxiliary village → Village passage → Grey balls plain
→ Village extension; Lonely hills channel

Village channel
. (→) Main village: (→) Grey balls plain ; Teleport: Village extension, Lonely hills channel

.. The ‘Electric waste’ (2nd) drill upgrade required to enter the Main village.

… (That means shop purchase of the recipe then Workbench purchase of the upgrade)

.. Grey balls plain has a button that drops a bridge connecting with the Main village.

.. → Auxiliary village (‘L’) → Village passage → Grey balls plain

. → Village extension (‘L’) → [City teleport]; Grey balls plain teleport

.. The Village extension sub-space is split with a wood bridge over a drainage pipe.

.. City features are visible from the Village extension but no access is possible.

You now face big and little spiders … teaming up to spoil your game play … eliminate them.

Use Brutal Brutis’s ‘Underground map’ guide for underground game navigation.

. There is an inaccessible, unknown wooden doors teleport in the Village passage.

You might want to practice your billiards shots on the spiders … they go down faster.

Lonely hills overview

The only connection is the teleport doors connecting with Grey balls plain sub-space.

The Lonely hills channel uses a drop and paths to access the sub-spaces.

Lonely hills channel → Main Lonely hills; Lonely hills auxiliary; Lonely hills plateau (sub-spaces)
Lonely hills extension sub-space can only be accessed via Main Lonely hills base division.

Main Lonely hills divisions: south and base.

Lonely hills extension divisions: shops, center, west, east, north, Funghi

. Funghi division is accessible after Rudy’s Bulbulator quest is completed.

Lonely hills

Lonely hills channel →

1. Lonely hills plateau sub-space
2. Lonely hills auxiliary sub-space
3. Main Lonely hills plain sub-space

→Main Lonely hills south division → Main Lonely hills base division

→Lonely hills extension sub-space

. → shops → center → west → north → east → Funghi (divisions)

Funghi division is accessible after Rudy’s Bulbulator quest is completed.
