How to return the guide button functionality in Windows 10.

Prerequisites

For this guide, you will need the following…

• Windows 10
• Xbox controller

The Problem

The reason this occurs is because as of Windows 10, the guide button is bound to the newly implemented “Game Bar”.

The Solution

Tap the guide button on your controller.

If you are prompted to confirm the application as being a game, check the box to continue.

Click the settings cog.

Uncheck “Open Game bar using guide on a controller”.

Functionality restored.
