Wolfpack: Tips, Tricks & How tos

Overview

Learn everything you need to know about Wolfpack mode here.

Basics

  • Go for points per kill. NOT just kills. Each sequence gets progressively harder with tougher target and requires more points to reach the next sequence.
  • The more you rush, the lesser points you’ll receive. The unique point of the game; goes against what most people think; Sprinting depletes your Approach Meter and you will receive lesser point in return.
  • Fast walk (default spacebar) to your target if he is in your line of sight, shown by a blue compass, to prevent the approach meter from depleting. [Co-op: An alternative way is to check whether your Approach Meter becomes a solid white bar, since sprinting around secondary target will deplete your Approach Meter!]
  • Always lock (default right mouse button) your target to easily obtain an Acrobatic / Aerial kill and focus bonus. It also signals your teammate which target you are going to take. Very important for sync-kills!
  • Getting focus bonus is easy: After locking your target, get close to him and wait for a few seconds till the left mouse prompt has started flashing. You will receive a stackable 150 Focus bonus points.
  • Always try to blend in to the crowd for Hidden kill bonus, which is a whopping 300 points instead of a basic 100 points. Your target will also take much longer time to detect your presence.
  • Pursuing after an extra target does NOT deplete your approach meter unless there are targets nearby, be wary of alerting them upon finishing off the extra target
  • Use cover to your advantage by blocking your target’s line of sight so you could sprint closer without depleting your approach meter.
  • Approach meter determines your kill type. Silent kills take the least time to perform and hence more chance to obtain a multi kill, plus more score.
  • Try to fulfill those extra objectives for even more points.

Common score combos
  • Basic + Incognito + Focus (100+350+150) = 600 points per kill. Easiest to pull off. Pretty straightforward.
  • Hidden + Incognito + Focus (300+350+150) = 800 points per kill.
How to perform: Lock your target, blend in to a crowd, when both focus indicator and approach meter are full, go in for the kill.

  • Acrobatic + Silent + Focus (200+250+150) = 600 points per kill. Do this when blending into the crowd is not an option AND your target is not in other target’s line of sight to avoid being detected.
How to perform: Lock your target, full focus indicator, 90% approach meter (you won’t be getting an Incognito bonus while climbing, might as well make that early), press shift to climb and then the left mouse button.

*Stackable bonuses apply to poison kills. Bonuses are applied at the time of applying poison.
*It is possible to receive Hidden bonus while performing Sync-Kills, but not for Focus bonus.
*Ranged kills do not award bonus points no matter what you do. That is, a fixed 100 points for pistol kills and 250 points for poison dart kills.[/list]

Perks / Abilities

Recommended Abilities

Disguise
Usage: Stops the targets’ detection meter from building up.

Money Bomb
Usage: Target identification. More range and affected civilians compared to Morph.

Wipe
Usage: Target identification. Affected target would expose their visible outline. Also used to suppress the target from using their abilities for a limited time. Better range compared to Morph and Money Bomb. May alert the targets.

Morph
Usage: Target Identification. Limited duplicates and range.

Knives
Usage: Use it on a fleeing target nearby to secure a silent kill. Also used defensively from incoming stun. Target identification is also possible, morphed personnel would return to civilian form.

Poison
Usage: Extra points. If being cautious, multi kill can be easily achieved.

Smoke Bomb
Usage: Your teammates always panic the target, getting ♥♥♥♥♥ slapped and can’t score as much as you? Being the first to reach four targets with full Approach Meter? Pop this to set up multi-kill and have decent score per kill!

Recommended Perks

Blender
Morph a nearby civilian while blending in.

Kill Buffer
Instead of having your killstreaks reset upon being stunned, reduce it by 1 instead.

Overall Cooldown
Reduces all ability cooldown by 10 seconds.

Resistance
Shortens the time you suffer a stun or contested kill.

The ONE and ONLY Kill Streak

For each 5 kill streak, gain 550 points.

Advanced Techniques

  • Approach meter is full but still a distance away from your target? Sprint a little bit to close the gap while letting the meter to refill. Rinse and repeat.
  • The REAL target does not get morphed (flicker). Now you don’t have to worry about using Disguise and Morph at the same time!
  • Pulling off an ambush is generally not worth it, since it might be time consuming and you might end up getting reckless kills, wasting your precious time.
  • If a target is fleeing, let it flee! Breaking line of sight for a few seconds and they will return to calm state. *Unless you have knives as ranged weapon.
  • It takes longer time to recover from Reckless approach to Discreet rather than Discreet to Incognito. So try not to deplete more than half of your approach meter.
  • Doing suspicious activities near the targets (using Firecracker, landing from heights, using abilities while you are in their line on sight, etc.) will impose a penalty to the targets’ detection meter.

Co-op ethics

  • Do not sprint to kill. 150 points will not help much. The most common source of low quality kills, rage and high blood pressure.
  • Do not kill the target that the other players locked on, you will waste their 150 focus bonus. Always lock your own target. It is especially useful for obtaining Aerial / Acrobatic / Sync-Kill / Focus bonuses.
  • Do not kill poisoned target inflicted by the other players.
  • Slightly under the target’s portrait, the blue-filled triangles indicate how much players have set their compass to that target. Switch your target by rolling up / down scrollwheel so that it only shows one blue-filled triangle to prevent killing your teammates’ target.
  • Being the first to reach your target? It is advisable for the latest person to have the kill first so they could accumulate Focus + Incognito bonus, unless you’re being detected.
  • Multi-kill bonuses are awarded to each player involved (400 for quad kills). You may use the upper-left lock and kill HUD to set up multiple silent kills.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading this guide. I hope the above information will enhance your Wolfpack experience and bringing you to new heights.
