Here you will find some boss fights tips and answers for common questions. (no spoilers)
1st launch
Can I play normaly without controller?
Yes, it’s possible. But on very hard and above it will be quite a pain…

Sure, it will unlock more difficult levels.

Blocks and evades
How do i block?
You have to press movement button/lean joystick at the direction of an attacker (from POV of camera, not the Raiden), and press light attack. You can’t hold mov.button, you have to tap it.
I keep doing this, but he still doesn’t block!
You cant use block any time you want, you have to do it right before the attack, do it then you see a red bling comming from the enemy.
Also, If enemy use chain attack, you have to block every hit!
P.S. if you block at the last moment, you will be able to counter.
Some enemies still damaging me even then i block!
It’s normal. Sometimes, if enemy is bigger then you, then your block will not be so efficient.
And more, you can block only ‘red’ attacks. If you see enemy is glowing yellow, you can only run from him.
Can I evade attacks?
Yes, but you have to buy this ability. Also, you can almost always run/ninja run/jump away.
Attacks
I can’t cut enemies in pieces!
Before you can do this, most of the enemies must be damage to some degree. Then they reach it, their body or body parts will glow blue.
You can cut in pieces only blue parts. If the body is still not glowing, you will only make more damage.
Also, you need to have at least blue energy bar.
Can i slice projectiles?
You can slice everything bigger than missiles. You cant slice bullets(but can deflect them using ninja run), RPG rockets or tank shells.
Boss fights in common
I can’t beat this boss!!!
1) Every boss has it’s pattern. You have to know it.
2) Block every attack you can.
3) Equip medkits, so Raiden will use them automaticly.
4) Use henchmen as medkits.
5) Forget about usuall grenades and RPGs.
6) Use lock-on.
7) Run in circles around the boss.
8) never let boss lock you in corner or near the wall. This will mess up the camera.
That dog!
1) Red phosphorus grenades are quite handy.
2) Try to block in near wall then it’s vulnerable, lift it and use blade mode. Try to keep it in the air!
3) Evade knives, they go through the block.
“handsome”
1) Remember about dwarf gekkos, you have to usually attack them if you don’t want to be captured by one of them. Even one simple attack will keep them out of you for some time.
2) Also, every DG leave a repair unit after death. It’s like a small medkit you can pick from the ground.
3) Try to evade burning balls.
That “helmet”!
1) You can’t evade most of his attacks, so keep defencive style. He also uses only chain attacks, so be ready to parry them all.
2) Try to slice transport that he will throw in you. Usually, there are medkits in it.
3) If you can’t, just run away from it. It’s possible.
4) Your target is his head. Don’t try to attack rest of his body parts (then they are separated).
5) If boss makes a huge “wheel”, try to run from side to side.

When he glows purple and becomes invulnerable (before he does his chain attacks with his assorted body parts), you can throw an EM grenade at him to make him vulnerable again and skip that entire combat sequence. EM grenades often drop out of the vehicles that he throws at you after you destroy them.
That one on helipad!
1) Destroy helicopter, it will make your fight way easier. Just use homming missle. But later, the new one will appear.
2) Then he dash to you with shield, try to jump over him, so you will have a moment to attack him from back.
3) You have to cut his shield. THen he stay near you, use “blade mod” to see where exactly you have to slice. After that, try to cut off some panels, but don’t touch panels itself.
4) If you have trouble with his attacks after you broke his shield, remember, that you can kill him even if he still have it. So, just don’t cut them.
Fight in a field
1) Lock-on is really usefull in this one
2) Every time he goes far from, it means that he will make an attack through a long distance, he will never run close to you.
That huge one!
1) Almost all of his attack will damage you even if you block them. So try to avoid them.
2) (On normal dif.) His legs can’t go far, but can go sides. So, if you need to run, run back.
3) Don’t attack gekkos, they will most likely die from rays. But you can manage to zangatsu them before they fall and restore your health.
4) You can avoid rays by standing between them or running to side (vertical) and by running to the back of the map (horizontal).
That “patriot”!
This part is the reason i wrote this guide.
Yellow attacks
1) He have 2 yellow attacks. To avoid first one, just keep medium distance. For the second one, try to run to side and jump at last moment to the opposite direction of boss.
2) If he made one yellow attack, don’t touch him for a pair of seconds. Otherwise, he can repeat it.
Lava tricks
3) It’s hard to block lava attack, so avoid it by ninja run. (it’s possible to attack him during charge and stun him, but it’s really risky)
4) Lava wall will follow Raiden, so try to keep an eye on in.
5) After every lava attack, he will dash to you. Be ready to block!
Slicing scrap
6) You can press and hold blade mode 1 sec before you have to do this to slice huge metal blocks. This will give you chance to start slicing imidietly.
7) Too succeed in cutting, you need to slice only 3 red boxes out of 4.
8) The faster you cut pieces, the bigger will be distance between you and next piece.
9) If you will cut them fast enough, you may damage the boss
10) In 90% lines of slice will be the same.
Submited by ‘Knerow’: you can run toward boss before he start throwing scrap and hide under cliff.
Green light
11) If you see boss is glowing green, this mean he’s regenerating. Get behind his back and in blade mode cut his green mark
Final
12) At the end, boss will make unevadable yellow attack, and you will have to face some QTE. You cant kill him without completing them.
13) The trick with blade mode (6) work here too.

Try to apply minimal graph.setting to get max FPS and have more time in QTE.
For those, who plays with keyboard and mouse. About final boss.
Some of you may have trouble to slice huge scrap parts during last boss fight.
Most common problems is to manage in time and set right angle.
I will show you one way too pass this moment.
Here i draw a scheme of mouse.
Red star is sensor of mouse.
Blue circle have radius nearly 7cm.
Green area is a bit larger.
If you will move mouse in blue circle, you will slice with the same angle you move your mouse relative to sensor.
But if you slowly move your mouse out of this area and move it around centre, you will controll angle of sword.
It will take time to use it freely, so i recomend you to open VR training and practice a bit.
