Overview
If your game has ever had a corrupted save and you were unable to delete through pressing load, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. In this quick guide, I’ll tell you how to fix your game and get you back to the best TES game.
When to use this Guide
The first bad sign is when you get to the main menu and it says that your save has corrupted when you try to click “continue”. If your game crashes when you press load, that normally isn’t good. This is when you want to bring this guide up.
What to Do
Now a lot of people will say all these crazy things. An example of this being “Backup your game, delete it, and reinstall it”. Suffice to say, don’t follow these. Alright, first make sure that all the game files are selected and downloaded. You can do this simply by opening the launcher, clicking “Data”, and making sure that all the checkboxes have a checkmark in them. Now close this and press play. Alright, now hopefully you can create a new game at the moment, otherwise this won’t work. Hopefully you can still use create a character. Now, I recommend just typing something in the namebox and clicking done. If you are wanting to create a new character though, feel free to do so. Now press your escape button and go down to load, this time you won’t CTD. You can now delete your corrupted save, which is typically going to be the latest one, although it might not be, so look for a save that doesn’t look normal. After you have deleted this save, you will now be able to go to your last non-corrupted save. Unless of course you’re wanting to continue with the character you just made, in this case close your load area and proceed with the game.
Closure
Alright, so that should have fixed your game. Thank you for stopping by.
Now, “Close shut the gates, of Oblivion..”
