what you want to do is build a swarm of hastati and triarii and then turn your family into a general factory. Why? because when the marian reforms pass, general bodyguards become demi gods. so simply use around 200 bodyguards and some hastati/velites banzai charges and you should be set! have fun conquering!
tip-the only way to beat this strategy is to have the starving malcontents of a province rebel, they will then turn into spartans. i’m only 20% sarcastic with this one.
