How to play Mercury

Overview

Teaches you how to, well, in a scope of things, 1-2 shot people with a basic with Mercury.*This is my first guide, so tell me how to make it better not call me an idiot. This is simply my preference of Merc and works great.*

Build

This is the whole build I have for him.

First, I start off with Warrior Tabi. The picture is Ninja but get Warriors. His 2 is enough attack speed so you don’t need Ninja.

Second, Golden Bow. Yes, I know, it’s not very common. Don’t underestimate it. When you’re punching people around, having it hit as an AOE (Area of Effect) makes you only more op as the game comes on, and golden bow also helps you clear early.

Third, comes rage. Smack smack smack and now here comes the crits. This is where it gets interesting. With your rage affecting the aoe damage of golden bow, mad crits start to happen. Mercury is pretty much all crit damage with basics. Don’t get attack speed or frostbound etc. Once you’re 1 shotting people critting for 1200, you won’t need to slow them down; they’ll be dead.

Fourth, more crit. I promise it’s the last one. Deathbringer. This item is a god among the items. With rage affecting golden bow, and now deathbringer affecting rage, they’re dead. Deathbringer takes that insane crit percentage and makes sure that all of them do 50% more damage. Yeah.

This fifth item will make sure that everyone with the slightest protections will still die no matter what. Titan’s Bane. Adding extra damage and INSANE pen, you don’t even need Jotunn’s. Having amazing crit and pen, you’re unstoppable.

Last item is Bloodforge. This is for late-game, pretty much ensuring that you don’t die. Most of the time I don’t even end up having the last item becuase we won. The more you hit, the more you heal :D.

Gameplay

Gameplay with Merc is pretty simple, actually.

Leveling his abilities should prioritize like this: 1-2-3-4.
His 1 is by far the most important ability. It needs it’s size as it levels up, and crazy damage. Plus, it has on hit effects, so your insane crits also carry over to this ability.
His 2 is a movement speed buff as a passive, and attack speed buff on toggle. Once this bad boy is max level you’ll be hitting at lightning speed.
His 3 is a dash, which goes through minions doing damage, but he spins around the first god he hits. He then throws them in the direction he’s facing.
Mercury’s ult is maxed last because the damage is not what you need. Merc’s ult is used for the stun or escape, and maxing it does not increase the stun time.

Clearing: Use his 1 and golden bow basics to clear. You won’t need to use your 3. Save it to run away or chase.

To engage: just use your 3 on someone, throw them backwards. The tricky part is throwing them into your 1. To do this, just instantly use your 1 after you throw them where you think they’ll land.
If you’re across the map, his ultimate is a great engage. Speaking of his ultimate, if you’re getting chased, it’s a great escape because of it’s distance.

Now go wreck some kids.

GOTTA GO FAST!
