Extensive Smite Class Guide (Warriors)

Overview

An in depth look at the different Warriors and play styles of Smite.

Warrior Overview

Warriors are a specific class in Smite that can easily initiate team fights and peel effectively. They play like the warriors of old do in that they are very “in your face” gods. They like to start fights and deal loads of damage so the team can gain pressure.

Warriors:

  • Amaterasu
  • Bellona
  • Chaac
  • Cu Chulainn
  • Erlang Shen
  • Guan Yu
  • Hercules
  • Nike
  • Odin
  • Osiris
  • Ravana
  • Sun Wukong
  • Tyr
  • Vamana

Gameplay Style

Warriors require a specific set of skills and all of their abilities help them be more effective in and out of team fights. There are a few different types of warriors that are very good at performing specific tasks. Use this section to understand what each god can and can’t do as well as have a more broadened view of what each warrior’s role is:
Bullying:
These warriors are very good at dealing damage and getting out. They mostly target enemy mages and hunters to keep them out of the team fight.

  • Amaterasu
  • Bellona
  • Cu Chulainn
  • Erlang Shen
  • Odin
  • Tyr

Constants:
Constants are gods that are able to stay in team fights for prolonged periods of time dishing out damage and CC. These are the warriors with the highest sustainability.

  • Chaac
  • Guan Yu
  • Hercules
  • Nike
  • Sun Wukong
  • Vamana

Divers:
These warriors are good at diving the enemy backline and dealing massive amounts of damage very quickly and getting out. Divers will probably require the most skill to play because they require both precision and speed.

  • Osiris
  • Ravana
  • Cu Chulainn (can be both)

How to know if you would be a good warrior

Warriors require quite a bit of skill to be good at. You have to know when to start a fight and when to get out just like you know how to breath. Here are a few basic skill you must have to play warriors decently:

  1. You have to know when the right time to start a fight is
  2. You have to know when to get out
  3. Understand who you can kill and when
  4. Find a good opening
  5. Be patient for your team because you can’t 1v5 a whole enemy team.

Warriors tend to be the more valuable damage dealers as when you are in a team fight, you are tanky yet you can disrupt the enemy team. In the video down below, Raynday talks about being the “jack of all trades”. This is good advice because you need to be okay with not being a hyper carry or being alright with dying. You can deal a lot of damage but it is somewhat hard to confirm a kill.

In this series I like to show the work of Raynday as he gives a basic overview of how to be better at specific roles. Make sure to subscribe to him as he works really hard to improve the Smite community.

Lethal Tips

Here are a few tips that might help you become a more malleable and effective warrior:

  • Understand that you will die and that you might get a few kills but you can’t try to be a hyper carry
  • Knowing when to initiate a fight is key. Wait for their team to use some of their abilities clearing minions or wait for a few of their team members to back off. This will give you constant pressure without needing to lose anybody of your own.
  • Know what you can do to counter the enemy team.
Ex: If the enemy team has a Loki and you are Amaterasu, if you see somebody with low health, try and cancel out Loki’s abilities with your dash.
  • Be in the midst of a fight. Never back down. If you are playing a “Diver” know when to deal that damage and get out. Always be looking for an opening to deal damage.
