Overview
This guide will explain to you what each part of a card is!
The Card
- Name: Every card has it’s own name.
- Cost: The cost is how many resources is needed to play the card.
- Threshold: The Threshold is the amount of shard type (Blood, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond or Wild) needed in order to play the card.
- Traits: The trait is the race + the class. In our example, the race is the Shin’hare and the Class is the Rogue. Together they make the trait “Shin’hare Rogue”.
- Card Type: There are 5 different types of cards in HEX Shards of Fate. Troops, Artifacts, Constants, Actions (Basic and Quick) and Resources.
- Faction: HEX Shards of Fate is broken into 3 factions, the Underworld Alliance, The Ardent Alliance and neutrals.
- Card Text: Some cards have special effects, the card text explains what they do and the conditions for it.
- Attack (Troops only): This is how much damage the troop will do when it attacks.
- Defence (Troops only): This is how much damage the troop can take before it dies.
- Lore text: Some cards have small snippits of text that provide insights into the characteristics of the character/card.
- Rarity: There are 4 basic rarities and 2 special rarities in HEX Shards of Fate. Common, Uncommon, Rare and Legendary form the basic rarities. Alternative Art (AA) and Tokens (these are temporary cards created via a card effect) for the special rarities.
- Restriction: Some cards have text that states ‘Unique’ this means that only 1 of this card can exist in your playing field at a time. If you have 1 a unique card in play, and you play the same card again, then the original one will die and go to your crypt.
PvE Card
PvE Cards have a few extra symbols that PvP cards do not. Also please note, whilst PvP cards can be used in any game modes, PvE cards can only be used in the PvE modes of the game.
- PvE Markings: This consists of the small crown symbol under the card cost, and the golden flairs that surround the card name, cost and threshold.
- Book Number: Where PvP cards are split into sets, PvE cards are broken into books. The number inside the rarity indicator tells you which book the card belongs to.
All other parts of the card are read in the same way as the PvP card shown in the previous section.
