A Beginners Guide to SMITE for SMITE

A Beginners Guide to SMITE

Overview

New to the game or just want some tips? You’ve come to the correct place.

Starting Out

When you first load up SMITE, finish all the training missions and get used to the menu. Now, pick a god you will play with, I really recommend focusing on one god rather than constantly changing between random gods. I would recommend chosing Ymir, Neith or Ra. Once you have chosen a god, check their stats, abilities etc. Now jump on to your web browser and look up “ymir god build smite” Obvisously put in the god your going to use. Find the Smite Guru website and it should throw up a picture of the most used god build for that god. Use these items for now until you can create your own. If you have a 2nd monitor you can put the web browser on it, but if not, just memorise the pictures.

Tips And Hints

If your here for tips and hints jump to the line below, but if your here for the next part, then read on. Now, it is really best to play Normal-Joust or Clash vs AI, but pick what you feel like playing, and get a taste of what the SMITE experience is like. After you’ve done, just keep playing matches and join a clan. You will learn as you progress.

———————————————–TIPS AND HINTS——————————————————–
1. Dont Get Cocky.
If you just run into a bunch of 3 gods on your own, you may kill one, but its much better to pick them off one by one, rather than trying to get a killing spree.
2. Keep Your Distance
There’s nothing worse than being spawnkilled, to prevent this, don’t attack other gods until they charge to you, you’ll die alot less if you follow this. Pick off minions instead of killing gods, a team is nothing without minions.
3.Strafe
For those who dont know what strafing is, it’s moving side to side in a quick fashion, this is especially effective if you have a fast moving character, you can dodge shots from Hunters and Mages.
4.Always Focus on a Objective
Don’t try to do 10 things at once, it won’t get you anywhere, this is the same for abilities, focus on upgrading the best one early game, and then mid game, use it alot. Don’t spread stuff out, it doesn’t work in SMITE.
5.Avoid attacking ANYTHING when your on your own.
This will just get you killed, if the rest of your team is dead, stay back and watch the enemy team, dont agressivley attack.

God Classes

Gods are a big contreversy in SMITE, there is a constant battle between which god is best. There are 4 classes, Mage, Hunter, Warrior, and Guardian. Mage is normally a mid health – high damage character, the ones that do more damage are usually weaker, so be careful! Hunters are the ultimate killing machines, they consist of slightly less health than Mages, and do outstanding amounts of damage with their basic attacks, easy to learn, hard to master. Warriors are normally melee, and have the role of a bruiser. Their objective is to hurt the target enemy as much as they can, and let a hunter/mage finish them off. Lastly, Guardians. These are high health gods that carry their team to victory! Having one of these on your team is very useful.

Strategies and Tactics

You cant just “use” a god, each skill has a thing that its best suited for, im going to use Artemis as an example here, her 1st skill, is a trap, that holds the enemy and does minor damage, these are used for getting away from enemies and stunning them, making them super easy to hit. Her 2nd ability increases her attack speed and crit chance, this is used for doing devastating damage onto a single target. Her 3rd covers a small area and rains arrows on the enemy, used best in crowds of enemies or just on minions. Her 4th is used in combination with her 2nd, it sends out a boar that strikes every enemy god in its radius once, and stuns them for about a second, this can be used to solo multiple gods pretty easily. These kind of combinations really help to play well with a certain character.

Conclusion.

This is WIP, so feel free to tell me what to add and what to remove.
