Overview

everything you need to 100% that game (and collect all hats)

hats, 1

the Traveling Merchant is your main source of hats. he sales all the hats that you cannot get from finishing achievements or special tasks. all hats that you can get from Random Encounters, Digging minigame, Trick-or-Treat, etc – all them you can buy from the Traveling Merchant

he appears after defeating the fourth boss, Goliath, and his inventory (loot pool) will expand after clearing Boss Rush (a bridge)

you can check what hats you already have from a Hat Trader in a Pub (located in the City)

2) kill appeared AI teammates; the easiest way is to block bots near the statue, so they couldn’t get to you and spam zombies until they dead
3) do that two times. you will get a “Knight Helmet” after the second win

• those are the storyline achievements. beat the game once to unlock them all

GIBZ – Easy

GIBZ – Hardcore!

• you receive achievements for the lower difficulties when you complete the game on a harder difficulty
• for a “GIBZ – Hardcore!” achievement you need to beat the game without spending a single penny on your character, meaning you can’t buy perks, buffs, hats, weapons, items (even a repellent). for the hearts, you are stuck with hearts you get from defeating bosses
  • if you play in coop (which is easier for that achievement), the all players in a current session cannot spend their money
  • the shop in the Pub will give you Dynamite for free; also a Bed (respawning in Pub) is free
  • when you pause the game you can see “Eligible for Hardcore” line at the top, that informs about achievement status

• most of those achievements you can grind in Mayhem minigame, just use whatever weapon (method) is required
• “Melee Kills”, “Sidearm Kills”, “Shotgun Kills”, “Auto-rifle Kills”, “Rifle Kills”, “Supa Shotgun Kills”, “Supa MG Kills”, “Supa Sniper Kills” and “Obligatory Kill a Lot Achievement” are all trivial and you will get them naturally with a bit of grind
  • for a “Melee Kills” the type of melee weapons doesn’t matter (blunt, slash or Bone Chainsaw…)
  • “rifle”, “single-shot rifle” and “sniper” are the same weapons, just the various terms

  

• for a “Zom Sawyer” you need to use Bone Chainsaw; you get it after killing Surgeon boss
• you make headshots for a “Custom Bandit Mask” and “Dark Steampunk Goggles” by shooting at zombies’ heads via sidearms or sniper-rifles respectively
• for a “Black Gas Mask” you need to use a flamethrower that appears only in Random Encounters
• for a “Explosive!” you need to blow zombies around explosive crates that appear only in Random Encounters
• for a “Decapitator”, “Crippler” and “Armputator” you have to chop various zombies’ parts. any weapon will go, but from my perspective shotguns work the best for all three achivements

• there are special items that can increase a chance of spawning of a certain mini-game. Pith Helmet can increase the chance of appearance of any mini-game further
• “Pith Helmet”, “Blood Wave”, “Surf’s Up!”, “Crank It”, “Holes” and “Mayhem Massacre” are trivial achievements
• in order to get “Taller Top Hat” achievement you need to understand how Digging minigame works:
  • game randomly puts the number of crates in the ground. it makes 8 sectors around it of a different colour to give you a hint that crate is somewhere nearby, check the image below to get an idea:
    
  • your task a find a golden crate of a different shape; inside of it you can find a Taller Top Hat that is needed for an achievement

• for an “Army Hat” you need to revive bosses with the special items the you can buy in Church and in Pub

• for a “Bloody Metal Mask” you need to equip a Machete and deal all the damage to the first boss – Machete Slinger – with that melee weapon only. you shall not attack him with any other weapons; the Flying Bats you can kill with any preferable weapon, tho. obviously use a special item from Church to revive a boss
  
• for a “Cheese!” kill the fourth boss – Goliath – and place your character in a position behind his body so that your head will appear in the hole, and stay for 3-5 seconds. if you didn’t get that achievement, then move your character a bit left or right
  
• for a “Black Cowboy Hat” you need to equip a T1 single-shot rifle and kill five bosses with it (deal them a final shot from that weapon)
  
• for a “Fish Ninja” equip any sharp melee weapon and swing it around to cut ten fishes that boss will throw at you. game tells you how many fishes you cut in a row. it is easier just to mash a button until you succeed instead of trying to time a swing correctly
  
• for an “Ultimate Boss Rush”, you need to ensure that all five bosses are triggered by you and then kill them all. you can kill them one by one, and not necessary at the same screen. Surgeon and Slinger are faster than Glutton, Fisherman or Goliath, so it is wise to lure them out from other bosses and kill first
  
• “Skeleton Goliath” is an extra optional boss that you can find on a world map by a graveyard icon. he drops random T3 weapon when you kill him the first time

• “Blood Donator” is easier to do in a final battle against Wizard. there is a moment where you will be surrounded by lots of Maggots, just let them leech on you all at once
  
• for “Batter Up!”, “Dark Crusher Mask” and “Lumber Jack” you need to use a blunt melee weapon (yes, you have to chop a tree with a blunt weapon, don’t ask)
  

Festive Hat

• you can start a Halloween event with the following launch code:

• interesting enough, but you can get a Festive Hat at any given point regardless any events. just buy it from Traveling Merchant or find it in Random Encounter
  
• for a “Snowman” start a Surfing minigame and look carefully for a snowman that may randomly to appear on a track; just smash into it to get a hat and achievement
  
• for a “Deerwolf Hunter” start a Digging minigame and dig around until you find a Werewolf (he will be instead of a crate); kill him to get a hat and achievement
  

Sweet Tooth

Trick-or-Treat!

• you can start a Halloween event with the following launch code:
  halloween
• for a “Sweet Tooth” you need to eat 200 candies. you can find them in Random Encounters and Trick-or-Treat houses
  
• for a “Pumpkin Smasher” destroy 100 pumpkins in Random Encounters and Trick-or-Treat houses
  
• for a “Copy Cat” you need to unlock two hats: Werewolf Mask & Spitter Mask (read “Hats” above for details)
• you can find Trick-or-Treat! Houses on the world map. put on Werewolf Mask, Spitter Mask, Pumpkin Head, Witch Hat and Witch Nose and knock in the door

I’ll Sit This One Out

“Rocket Jump?”

• use the following build for a base. with it you will beat 90% of waves effortlessly, just rebuild destroyed barricades during a break
  
• for a “Foreman” and “Leader” just research everything on a research screen:
  
• for a “The Squad” you need that all four of AI survivors had a hat, a facewear, T2+ sidearm, T2+ weapon, T3+ melee, and had all four stats maxed out
  
• for a “Dinner Time!” ring in a bell 5-10 times in a row
• “Eggcellent Defence” is tricky achievement, but can be cheesed easily. whenever you see that the next wave contains the chickens – just sell all barricades and move important units away from the main battlefield, also move all AI survivors closer to the enemy spawns
  
• for a “I’ll Sit This One Out” wait until Slinger – he is the easiest boss that constantly moves back-and-forth when gets enough damage. let AI survivors to attack him, while repairing the destroyed barricades
  
• for a “Rocket Jump?” first you need to defeat Wave 100 (Wizard) to unlock a Rocket Launcher. then grab lots of dynamite (an ammo for a Launcher) and shoot at your legs and dodge-roll perpetually. if you managed to lose a Rocket Launcher, then build a Weapon Rack and pickup it from here

• “Dark Aviator Goggles” and “Smashing!” are trivial and self-explanatory
• for a “Tall Top Hat” you need to die 20 times
• for a “Plague Doctor Mask” you need to use 4 Repellents in a row, without entering any minigames or buildings. just wander on a world map until 4 Repellents die out
• for a “Custom Cap” start spamming “Left-Right-Left-Right-Left” and move a crosshair around from the start of Random Encounter (or better – start doing it at the loading)
• “Ping Pong Boom”, arguably the trickiest achievement in the game. if you have a coop friend – good for you; if you are playing alone, then pickup a controller for your second hand. if you don’t have a controller, then use a Virtual Joystick like this one[sourceforge.net]
  • the idea is to put two characters in front of each other, throw a dynamite and start moving closer, while smashing a melee button (you need to use blunt melee weapon, obviously)
  • dynamite’s arc and acceleration will reduce with each hit

• you need lots of money to get “Perky” and “Buff” achievements, as well build a good Base for Defense minigame. there is few ways how can you boost your income:
  • Mayhem minigame with a Horned Helment can net a good amount of money if you can survive 2000+ enemies
  • Trick-or-Treat! houses during Halloween event give you a small amount of money and you risk to fight the enemies, but on other hand – there is lots of them and you can exit to main menu if you got yourself into a trouble
  • Digging minigame during Easter event gives you bonus money on digging out the colored eggs, as well 750 coins if you managed to find a Treasure chest
  • Reviving the bosses for the money isn’t worth it, don’t bother
• for a “Large Rack” you need to collect all weapons. if you missed some, then play Base Defense – bosses drop weapons you have missed (with exception of weapons that you get for the achievements)
• for a “Fashion Lover” you need to collect all hats – see the list above
