Overview
everything you need to 100% that game
[1]
Penultimate
Reach Zone 50
Reach Zone 50
- for that achievement you have to unlock the final level, Zone 50 (“Vilio’s Wrath”), but you don’t have to beat it (or even play)
- to unlock that level you need to collect 5,500 EXP. you get EXP by completing the zones in required time, rescuing a certain number of survivors and getting a highscore. all and all – just play the game, try to get as many PERFECT levels as possible you shall unlock Zone 50 when you reach ~Zone 40
- the max possible EXP in the game is 7,515 EXP (all levels are PERFECTED, and all bonuses are collected/finished)
We Don’t Need Roads…
Complete Zone 50
Complete Zone 50
- …and now you have to finish the final level, Zone 50 (“Vilio’s Wrath”). no need to PERFECT it, just finish
Double Whammy
Disable two switches in quick succession
Disable two switches in quick succession
Triple Whammy
Disable three switches in quick succession
Disable three switches in quick succession
Quadruple Whammy
Disable four switches in quick succession
Disable four switches in quick succession
- easy enough achievements, that will, very likely, earned during a normal playthrough – just quickly activate 2-3-4 switches in a row. you have ~3 seconds to activate them all
- if you still struggling to get them, then play Zone 12 (“Eldredge Boundary”). near the end of level you will come across four yellow switches very close to each other – teleport between them and activate in a rapid succession

Mastered

Earn a PERFECT medal on Zone 50
Perfectionist
Earn a PERFECT medal for every zone
Earn a PERFECT medal for every zone
- to earn a PERFECT medal for a Zone, you need to do the following at the same time:
- beat it under required time
- rescue all survivors
- get the best high-score
- don’t die
- if done right, then there will be a big shiny PERFECT label below a medal
- for the most levels time-par is not an issue, game gives you quite enough time to spare, like 10-20 of free seconds per level. but it is not a case for “Critical Urgency” zones – in those levels you barely have enough time to finish them under a cap and you have to use boost non-stop
- rescuing survivors is not an issue too, but keep in mind that some of them are hidden in isolated areas away from main path. use the map (E) to find them
- getting a high-score is a big trouble, because of some many little quirks. in order to get a high-score you need to:
- use BOMBS (not blaster!) to activate switches. seriously, how the hell I suppose to know that?
- collect all pickups (health, firearms, lazers, ammo) even if you are full, just don’t leave anything behind
- destroy all turrets
- destroy all enemies in the wave (cluster), especially those little ships, which fly away after shooting you once
- funny enough but you can sorta abuse the score system by the following: bomb a right switch, then bomb a wrong one (game will reset the counter), then bomb right one again, then wrong one again – doing that over and over gives you some extra points each time
Champion
Achieve above average XP on every zone
Achieve above average XP on every zone
- that achievement is part of “Perfectionist” and if you are going for the latter, you will unavoidably get this one too
- for that achievement you need to reach at least second highscore (which gives +20 EXP) on every zone:
River
Rescue every survivor
Rescue every survivor
- another part of “Perfectionist” achievement. just rescue every single survivor in each level, really nuff said
- that achievement is a little glitchy – you may not receive it after rescuing you last survivor. if that happened, just replay any zone and collect some survivors in that level (aka gently poke the game into knowing that you already hit the counter)
- you do not need to rescue survivors in Bonus Missions for that achievement
Neutrino Speed Is Too Slow
Earn a PERFECT medal on all Critical Urgency zones
Earn a PERFECT medal on all Critical Urgency zones
- I am not sure why there is a separate achievement for this, but you need to PERFECT levels 4-10-14-21-25-30-34-38-42-46-50. needless to say, that task is a part of “Perfectionist” achievement
- as with “River” achievement above, game may not figure out that you PERFECTED all those levels. in that case just PERFECT Zone 4 one more time
Deadly
Destroy 500 Zetachron ships
Destroy 500 Zetachron ships
Very Deadly
Destroy 1000 Zetachron ships
Destroy 1000 Zetachron ships
Elite
Destroy 5000 Zetachron ships
Destroy 5000 Zetachron ships
- 5000 enemies seems a lot, but honestly, you will get those achievements in no time – during some levels you kill 500+ enemies at once. you will likely get that near ~Zone 35. after grinding all achievements I have ~22,000 enemies killed
- despite saying “destroy ships” – turrets DO count
Manhattan
Use pulse bombs to gain 50 multikills
Use pulse bombs to gain 50 multikills
- multikill – killing two and more enemies with a single bomb. very easy task, just press SPACE whenever you see a fleet of ships moving vertically close to each others, like this
Nakatomi
Smash 500 pieces of glass
Smash 500 pieces of glass
- very easy and comes WAY before you finished the game, like in ~Zone 30. there are plenty of glass blocks in the game, sometimes ~100 per level
- PS. makes me wanna to watch “Die Hard”
[2]
Face Palm Napalm
Get trapped and killed by the scroll
Get trapped and killed by the scroll
- funny little achievement that you will unavoidably get – simple let the screen scroll kill you (for example, trap yourself into some deadend and don’t teleport further/back)
Velocity
Complete a zone without letting go of boost
Complete a zone without letting go of boost
- from the very start of the zone hold SHIFT to activate boost and never let it go until the end. you will, likely achieve that goal during PERFECTING some zones, but if you still struggle with it, then just replay Zone 1 or Zone 4
Kangaroo Fuel
Hit boost 100 times in a zone
Hit boost 100 times in a zone
- an odd achievement, but here we go – during a single level press SHIFT (boost) x100 times
The Force
Complete Zone 18 without upgrading weapons
Complete Zone 18 without upgrading weapons
- easy task – just replay Zone 18 (“Kerridge Gate”) without collect the weapon upgrade (Lazer-gun on the right side of the level)
- no need to PERFECTING that level, just play through
Dark Side
Complete zone 21 without rescuing any survivors
Complete zone 21 without rescuing any survivors
- easy task – just replay Zone 21 (“Ka D’Argo”) without rescuing any survivors. there is no trick here or any outside-of-box thinking, the task is straightforward
- no need to PERFECTING that level, just play through
Discoverer
Discover at least one secret area
Discover at least one secret area
Explorer
Discover all the secret areas
Discover all the secret areas
- here I will talk not only about “Secret Area Medals”, but also about “Bonus Mission Medals”, since they are quite similar and you need the latter to get all achievements in the game
- in some zones you will find the pickups, collecting which gives “Secret Area Medal” or “Bonus Mission Medal” message. for “Discoverer” achievement find at least one “Secret Area medal”, for “Explorer” collect all x10 of them
- they are usually hidden in various places away from main path:
- there are x10 “Secret Area Medals” and x20 “Bonus Mission Medal”
- to find which “Secret Area Medals” you have collected, go to “Flight Computer” -> “Progress” -> and look for “Explorer” medals
- to find which “Bonus Mission Medals” you have collected, go to “Flight Computer” -> “Progress” -> and look for “Unlock Bonus” medals
- the whereabouts of all “Secret Area Medals” and “Bonus Mission Medals”:

- there are two difficulties: “Casual Gamer” and “8-Bit Gamer”, or in plain and simple: “Easy” and “Hard”. play on “Casual Gamer”, no need to make it any challenging
- the premise is simple: collect all survivors and escape the area (via the entrance). use gun to destroy enemies and use shield to get a temp protection from their projectiles
- this minigame will be extremely frustrating for the first 10 minutes – you will hate every single thing about it. just be patient

- those two achievements you will earn at the same time, and they, roughly, mean “complete everything in this game“
- “Flight Computer” -> “Progress” -> here you can check all the in-game awards and see what left

- the list below explains how to get in-game awards that are not related to achievements
Completionist
Complete every Zone and every Bonus Mission
