Overview
You’d be surprised just how good Ymir is as an ADC, so I tested this build for 25 games and it held up stupidly well, with a higher K/D than my normal tank build, and a 78% winrate. Here is how my favourite frost Giant is built
Preliminary info:
First off I wanna apologise for the branding image, the normal God profile picture was too small to be uploaded and I didn’t want it all pixelated so I’ve got this placeholder until I can be bothered to make a new one.
Next I think it’s important to mention that this build doesn’t work masively in conquest, and there’s a reason that no one ever uses this… All I’m saying is don’t cry if it doesn’t work for you, and don’t cause your team to lose games in ranked because you wanna test this, please do it on arena or casual joust, or bot matches, where it doesn’t matter if you win or lose.
Also I am diamond + 100 Ymir so I must be good š
I’ve tried to keep this as short as I can, because my AMC build was just too long for people to read and I kinda wanna see this one getting used :3
Basic principle:
so I figured as Ymir’s passive means he does double damage on basic attacks after damaging people with abilities, and he is (apparently) the tankiest God at level 20 without items, he has some serious potential and his kit works well with this build, allowing him to stun, slow, and nuke anyone who tries anything funny.
Items:
Alright so you can get these items in almost any order, but I will write them in the order I would get them, after trialling it for quite a few games, please feel free to let me know if you would change the order of the items, or even the items themselves :}
Starter:
Shoes of focus. the cooldown is going to help you a lot to clear the waves, and the power and speed will come in useful if you want an early gank (not reccommended).
Core:
Polynomicon- This means that after freezing / spiking / ulting people, your next attack does bonus damage, quite a bit more actually (and it’s going to get even crazier in season 3), but get this: it applies the bonus damage BEFORE your passive doubles it! With full build I’ve done 700 damage to someone with some magic protection (I don’t remember which item) with a single left click. Fair and balanced!
Telkhine’s ring: the bonus attack speed is useful for chasing, but this leads to even more insane left clicks for your nuke-clicks as I call them (the poly-buffed ones)
Fatalis: You think you can run away from Mug-mir? you are wrong. Mug-mir is too fast.
Demonic grip: in case you didn’t hit fast enough this gives bonus smack speed, and the passive of the item (reduces magical defense on basic attacks) means that longer fights will be easier for you. chances are that if something got away from your nuke-clicks, it was a tank, or something with a bit of defense, and this means that the chase and click strategy ends up shredding all the noobs who play actual strategies with actual adc’s and stuff
Last item is up to you, feel free to buy a tank item or a huge magic power buff, I would get either Hide of the Urchin or Rod of Tahuity here, but a chronos’ pendant can also work. Here’s the list of items I’d buy (tank items under core, and ADC items under attack / defense)
This one is bigger because I think it’s a bit clearer what’s actually going on here. Because it’s jungle practise I just bought the items and didn’t check the order, so I’d refer back to the early part if you want it properly ordered, sorry for that
Tips&tricks:
I’m also going to cover active items and abilities here becuse they are entirely dependant on your preferred playstyle.
OK so you just loaded in and you wanna start the gank machine rolling? I can totally relate but this build has a much stronger mid-late game than early, and without any of your attack speed or damage items you are a weak dirty peasent. With team present you can however set up some nice early ganks, but that’s just Ymir.
I don’t reccomend this build for conquest, because it takes too long to get gold, and clash you will often get 5 people on you the second you move and I’ve known people to send their whole team into a fountain to kill me because I had a godlike once, but that was Medusa, but even so, be careful people get salty when you do well and so assassin Ymir is no good here either. This means that you will start at at least level 3 when using this build, and I reccomend putting a value point in all abilities.
When you leave your spawn, it is very important to use wall to block teammates in the door, and if the dirty peasents didn’t buy boots first then see this as a challange, and run to the camp, and block them again before they get there. Use your body or your wall, or both as you see fit :} this is an important step as it will cause all the small children on your team (usuallly Anubis, Sol or Loki) to disconnect, and you can enjoy a much calmer game than normal. Be careful not to block Ah Muzen Cab or Rama’s, as they are too busy trying to carry the game to deal with your tomfoolery.
If you can, land 3 basic attacks on your target before freezing them or landing your 2, because this will mean your nuke-click will penetrate their armour (and other bits of them) a lot more, and this is integral to the 600 damage nuke.
Buy blink so you can surprise squishy-squishy’s, who think it is acceptable to be alive in the presence of Mug-mir, the one true Mug-king. Not combat blink because the cooldown will make you want to pour bleach in your eyes / ears / keyboard, and this will cause your team to lose, and they are always very salty when they lose.
Buy one of the damage boost actives if you want to hit harder, I don’t know what they are called but if you playing 1v1 or have dirty feeder’s for teammates then buy the solo one, and carry the game on your big frosty shoulders.
put most of your points into your 2, as it has the best scaling per level. After landing one Nuke-click then deploy the spikes to make sure they lands, dealing some crazy damage, refreshing your double damage meter, and slowing them to a point where they just can’t even. If they aren’t slow enough then you can buy gem of isolation as your 6th item, and weakening curse instead of damage buff, which will also stop them from being able to hurt you
After bits (not gameplay tips)
This is just the boring bit where I say thanks for reading, and re-iterate that this is not a serious build, it’s a way of playing the game for FUN, which seems all too rare in smite these days, ever since the release of Sol and Chiron…
I will try to make a video showing this build in action, and going back over the build and some tips, but I will do this after the release of season 3, in case I want to change the build based on the new items, but there were none I saw that really seemed to fit in here…
Comments and likes help me see that people accept me for being an Ymir main blah blah
Don’t give me the….. COld shoulder ahahahha I am so funny here are some trashy hand-made Ymir memes
I think this is a screenshot of my first game as ADC Ymir, but the thumbnail is about 50×100 so I can’t actually tell >.<
OK I just checked, it is, and their team went tryhard strats and we still destroyed them
