Updates
- 2016-11-16 Small change on Team 3 for deep runs, switching ISIC with Reyna.
- 2016-09-06 Added new artifacts in the list.
- 2016-08-15 3 Teams for different runs (Early Game, Mythstones, Deep Runs)
- 2016-06-10 New prefered team is online (after unlocking all heroes)
Unlock all Heroes
To really start playing, you should unlock all Heroes.
This one is simple. Get Oskar Mike (constant damage & strong skill) and keep killing Enemies and Bosses until Stage 30. Prestige and start over untill you got all the Heroes.
Be told, your Heroes with Gear are strogner than without. Use those with gear 😉
Picking Heroes (updated 16th Nov. 2016)
There are threee different Hero-Loadouts your shoudl use. Each of it has it’s ups and downs.
Ulti. = Ultimate Skill (the ones you can chose to activate)
Team 1: Good for pushing till Lvl.100 fast even without the gear all leveled up.
Team 2: Quicker in pushing to Lvl.100 (23 Minutes) – Lvl.113 in 30min
Team 3: My prefered team for deep runs (going as high as you can) – Lvl.170 in 1 Day
Team 1 – Early/Mid Game
1. Deande (fast-recharge high-damage ulti for quick pushes)
2. Kelvin (ulti for pushing stages, fast attacks, good damage)
3. Miko (ulti. for pushing stages +can heal, can swap with another character if needed)
4. Kleese (ulti for pushing stages, fast attacks, can heal and boost team attack speed)
5. Reyna (priority target ability and fast-recharge ulti both amplify damage and multiply with eachother) [do NOT give ability power, has zero effect]
Miko can heal your whole team and his skill can – just like Raths – pushes you through 10 Stages, so they do easy shards.
Most Heores have skills being able to clear multiple stages. So use your skills to push stages faster, but DON’T use all together, be smart about it and use one skill at a time. This way you will be able to push 30-40 Stages in a short time. In the Endgame you will not be able to push through 30 Stages with those skills, but they’re way better than others.
In the high levels you will have to save your ultimate abilities for the bosses.
Team 2 – Quick Mythstone Farming
1. Montana (highest dps)
2. Caldarius (2. highest dps + good crit.)
3. Oskar Mike (3. highest dps + ulti. for pushing stages)
4. Mellka (4. highest dps)
5. Kleese (5. highest dps + healing + increased firerate + ulti. for pushing)
This team is build on the DPS they can do, I’m excluding ISIC because his charge takes to long for the short mythstone runs up to lvl 100. By DPS in this case I mean the amount of dames they do over one minute devided by 60sec, not the ingame calculated DPs they do per strike.
Team 3 – Deep Runs
1. Kleese (good dps + healing + increased firerate + ulti. for pushing)
2. El Dragón (shard generating + great abilities)
3. Benedict (shard generating + great abilities + ulti. for late game bosses)
4. Galilea (shard generating + great abilities)
5. ISIC (shard generating + great abilitie + highest dps in game) Reyna (priority target ability and fast-recharge ulti both amplify damage and multiply with eachother)
16th Nov. 2016:
After alot of testing and switching back and forth I came to mind, that Reyna is the better choice for high level deep runs. Her aplifyer and the priority target were better than the extra shard generator from ISIC.
Team 3 is totally based on shard generation and some good ulti. and abilities to clear the higher stages. Keep in mind that I have all the gear leveled up to legendary and I have 19 artifacts maxed out (11,7k% bonus dmg). You will reach a “brickwall” and to conquer it you will need shards, lots of shards! In the deep runs shards matter more than DPS, so this is my fav. team ATM.
These screenshots give you a look at what gaming around level 91 looks like, while trying hero-setups.
Leveling Heroes
There are a lot of different options when it comes to leveling up. You want to try to keep things balanced. Level up each hero a couple of rungs at a time. Work on their maximum level upgrades (that make them even more powerful) when money is flowing a bit faster, but do weigh up where the biggest DPS boost is coming from.
Don’t neglect health either. There’s not much point having a super strong hero if they keep getting knocked out every other wave. When it feels like their health is dipping too quickly, or other heroes are way tougher, that’s when you need to bump up the HP.
Don’t waste the premium credits on reviving. It’s not worth it, when those credits can be put to much better use.
Augments
Thanks to Sanaki for this part of the guide!
For each Level your Battleborn gains, you get to choose one Augment out of two possibilities (up to four with the right artifact). These act as small boosters and do not arrive in a fixed order.
Worth a note: Ability strength from gear and from augments does multiply!
100% from gear + 15% from augment = 130% total boost
Battleborn cost is additive (50% from artifact, up to 40% from augment, 90% total max). Generally the math on various combined stats seems to favor the player, which is nice.
If you have the “Fragment of Valor” maxed out, two -20% cost aufments will drop that Battleborn’s cost to 10%, so that should be your FIRST PICK.
Complete List of Augments (hirachical)
1) -20% Upgrade Cost
2) +8% Damage
3) +15% Ability Power (not for Reyna)
4) +2% Shards Each Hit
5) -5% Ability Cooldown
6) +2% Crit Chance
7) +20% Health
8) +1% Life Steal
9) -20% Revive Time
You might think that augments are not woth taking a closer look, but they can make or break a run, so take a closer look and be wise about your choices.
Artifacts
Purchase artifacts when you have enough Mythstones (M), until they cost 260 M. Now start upgrading those you like.
Additional support you should look out for and keep upgrading:
– Global Damage
– Offline Earnings
– Shard-Appearance
– Battleborn Upgrade Costs
Artifacts cost a lot of Mythstones, so keep grinding for them. Here are some of my artifacts atm.

Mythstones
Mythstones (M) are used to create artifacts, so they are of high value. But you only get Mythstones from Epic Boss Kills and through prestige. So starting the game new will give you some Mythstones depending on Stages Completed, Battleborn Levels, Epic Boss Kills.
I’m currently at level 90, this would give me at prestige:
61M – Completed Stages
31M – Battleborn Levels
29M Epic Boss Kills
= 121 Mythstones
Having this in mind, creating artifacts gets pretty time consuming. I would suggest to prestige around level 90, because the game slows down afterwards if you haven’t leveled your artifacts.
My 12th artifact will cost me 550M and I already earned 1.80k M, just so you get a feeling of how many Mythstones you will need. But i also leveled the important artifacts.
Gear
Get all the free gear you can get! Every 30min you will be able to get free gear off the store and these are best to start with.
Use your coins to purchase Epic-Gear-Packs. Save all coins until you’re at least level 10, otherwise the rewards are a bit lacklustre. But don’t upgrade your gear until you’ve reached the Endgame. When you’ve reached the Endgame, you can use the scrap to upgrade Damage and Critical Strike Gear first, all other stuff later on.
Out of every Gear Pack, you will get Money (=Shards) depending on the Game Stage.
EDIT: I got informed that not you may not get shards out of every gear pack.
Any useless Gear becomes scrap
Useless Gear that becomes scrap will give you different amounts, depending on the quality of the gear.
Endgame
You have reached the Endgame, when you got all heroes and the game starts to get slow around stage 85. This is the time you got alot of the achivements. Now you should try to get the last of them. Usually you will have around 50 of the achivements now.
Now you should max your Artifacts, prestige more often to get Mythstones. You should now be able to get to stage 50 quite fast. Just keep on pushing until the game slows down too much, prestige and start over.
The fastest way to grind Mythstones is to push up to Level 100 (usually this will take you 30min) and then prestige. Have a look unter “Picking Heroes” to see my team setup to grind mythstones.
When you have all artifacts you can get, you will leave the game running in the background and level up your heroes every now and then. Within some time you will unlock all achivements and push to your highest stage.
I heared someone already got to stage 1000.
Prestige
Be wise about it, if you are close to the next 10th level (50,60,70 etc.), keep pushing until you reach it for the Mythstone Bonus.
I usually try to reach for a goal of Mythstones (for example 50-60, later 100-200). 50 Mythstones are reached quite fast, so you can focus on rushing stages to build up your Mythstone-Empire!
Early on, you’re going to want to Prestige as soon as possible to gain new characters. That’s a good idea at first, but soon you’re going to want to wait it out. The longer you hold out, the more artefacts and mythstones you can gain. These carry on into the resets, meaning you get stronger every time. That’s how you’ll end up surviving longer every time.
Fast Forward
Something I haven’t tryed yet, but it worked in Clicker Heroes and Adventure Capitalist.
Go offline (flight modus) and change the time into the future (12hours or so). In Adventure Capitalist I was able to move forward into the year 2038.
The idea is, that the game thinks you have left it for that time and you get the shaks your heroes earnd in this time.
But I haven’t tryed it yet. Please leave a comment if it works.
Fast Forward doesn’t end up good. My Free Gear Pack got 385167:23 Minutes on the Clock and my Heroes won’t attack anymore. But, if you turn the time back 30min, you will be able to get free Gear-Packs way faster!
Unknown
I have not looked it up, but I was just thinking about the damage your heroes make. What if the damage is higher when you summon your hero later?
Doesn’t work, your heroes will always spawn with the same amount of damage and life. So get them as early as possible to maximize your DPS.
