Stand alone Pros and Cons.

Behemoth is incredibly unique as a monster and has a gameplay style to match.
He has unique pros and cons, they are as follow.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pros:
  1. This monster is REALLY fast when rolling, the only monster that can match is a Goliath that leaps from high points.
  2. Deals massive damage.
  3. Huge health and armour pool.
  4. Behemoth can control what the hunters can and cannot do with Rock Wall and Tongue Grab.
  5. Can be a little hard to predict at times.
  6. Traversal ability (Roll) Deals damage.
  7. Abilities used in tight spaces are decimating.
  8. Stage 1 hunter wipes are a thing with relentless RollAttack Spam and Fissure.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cons:

  1. Behemoth has very little mobility when not rolling, you will NOT catch up to a fleeing hunter without it (or tongue grab).
  2. The weakspot of Behemoth is on his stomach, that sounds ok but the weakspot is MASSIVE and the multiplier is large.
  3. Behemoth struggles to fight spread out hunters as he has very little crowd control.
  4. Slows effect your roll.
  5. All skillshot abilities.
  6. Size can impede climbing in tight spaces.
  7. Often too big to stealth around.
  8. Size eats Orbital Strike and Motor Cannons all day.

Lava Bomb

Damage 8/10
Range 10/10
Cast Time: 4/10
Farming Capabilty 4/10

To start off, Lava Bomb is a ranged mortar-like projectile that deals high area of effect damage then splits into multiple burning cinders than deal moderate damage over time to hunters standing on or very near them.

Now for the nitty gritty. Lava bomb has a delay of rougly 1 second and aiming this ability cannot be adjusted while casting, meaning where you choose to shoot is where it's going to land. Holding the ability does however let you see where it will land without casting.

Two more things to note, first this ability is telegraphed for a long time and is VERY obvious, Hunters will be well aware of what is going on, so try to use in on hunters that have very few escape options.

Second, when casting, Behemoth rears up towering over everything and looking quite intimidating. However it also shows his stomach is glorious fashion, so hunters will tear you apart. Best thing in my opinion is to fire it when NOT facing Assault or even Support if you can help it.

As a final note this ability has REDICULOUS range, like seriously... you can hit someone on the other side of the map. If you get Lava bombs early (Stage 1-2) you can actually slow down pursuing hunters by lobbing a glob of molten pain at them from 3 chasms away.

Tongue Grab

Damage 3/10
Range 7/10
Cast Time: 6/10
Farming Capabilty 8/10

The basics, Tongue grab is a ranged skillshot that works in targeting identically to Wraiths Abduction.
The range is generous and will grab far off targets, however no where near the range of Abduction.
You also won't move, which is a bonus in some regards, but it also won't pull the target straight to you. Instead the target is flung towards you flailing, people have jetpacked out of it more than once for me so take note.

This ability deals a small amount of damage once to a hunter, and twice to small wildlife. If you grab a Hunter, he will take damage and be pulled, but a Mammoth Bird will take damage when grabbed, then pulled and take more damage (1 shotting it).

This means that Tongue grab is an excellent farming tool even at level 1.

In regards to battle, this is your only way besides rolling to catch a hunter who escapes your wall or is too high up and is just duking you. It isn't mandatory but is highly recommended to get at least 1 level in it.

Fissure

Damage 9/10
Range 6/10
Cast Time: 7/10
Farming Capabilty 7/10

An interesting ability with a simple goal, behemoth raises up (showing his belly briefly) and slams the ground dealing very high damage in a straight line. The interesting part is the wave travels up and down terrain, this means that as long as the Hunters are in the line, they will get hit no matter what level they are standing on (unless of course they are in mid air). With a rather short cooldown, this will be your go-to attack for dealing massive damage to the hunters.

Another neat aspect to this skill is that it throws Hunters up in the air flailing. (Flailing means they cannot use their equipment aside from class special abilities) This can combo into a mid air tongue grab, can throw hunters off cliffs and even hurl someone into water or a Tyrant/Megamouth/Plant.

This skill deals enourmous damage, even at Lv1 you can use this skill to 1 shot tougher wildlife, making this skill excellent for farming wildlife that other monsters would struggle with. (stage 1, with armour and this skill you can easily take down a tyrant.)

Unlike Lava Bomb, this skill can be adjusted to a decent extent after casting.

Rock Wall

Damage 3/10
Range 8/10
Cast Time: 7/10
Farming Capabilty 3/10

Rock wall is by FAR, the hardest ability to use properly.
Sounds simple: Where you target, an enourmous wall of stone rises up dealing damage to hunters and blocking an area.

We all know it's no where near that simple, firstly, when the wall comes up it picks a certain level to wall, (The one with the most ground for the wall to exist) This means the wall will NOT cover everything where you put it.
Also the wall will not rise if it is too close to you or large wildlife like Dune Beetles or yourself; so if you are trying to block off an area while fleeing, get a good distance on the wall location. Your model size WILL block it.

Rock wall is climbable aswell so don't hesitate for a second to use it if you have to, while climbing you have no fear of revealing that weak spot either.

Rock Wall has multiple uses, it can be used to escape (I advice rolling and use it behind you, you will roll away automaticly just enough to not block the wall spawn. It can be used to isolate a lone hunter, can be used to make a hard back for your Lava Bomb to hit as the Hunters back into it.
And in the middle of a dome battle, wall yourself in with food for uninterupted meals (Unless Cabot is in the game, then you get to eat Railgun instead).

You can use the wall to block wildlife from escaping but I don't recomend it as they Hunters will surely see the wall and find you.

Roll

Well as i'm sure you all know (or at least should know), Behemoth cannot jump, fly, or teleport but instead Rolls. The Roll uses a single giant stamina bar that recharges over time, the Ball has INSANE speed going downhill, and hides your weakspot.

Roll deals about an attack worth of damage to whatever you roll over, and if you attack while in the ball, you will lurch out with a two-handed clap that deals extreme damage compared to other simple attacks (This attack also has quite the range on it).

Some problems you may Roll into are: Slows affect your roll speed, and are absolutely crippling if you are trying to roll uphill you become a large, wounded, pissed off, canyon strider.
On that note, Rolling uphill is much slower than downhill as you can build momentum. Its often a waste of your bar to roll uphill, just walk pudgey.

In combat Roll is a good way to catch a hunter just out of your range, roll up to them and introduce them to your left and right fists.

IMPORTANT: Repeating Roll Smash (Roll and Attack) Over and over on a hunter almost completely diables them from getting away, and is too punishing to be out healed (Except by Slim)

Pounce

Yea.. this ability deserves a section i guess.
Exactly the same concept as every pounce in the game.

However apparently being f*cking enourmous means nothing at all and so Behemoth has shown us that he in is infact a megamouth that takes no sh*t.

Behemoths pounce not only has a SICK animation, but has very impressive range and has no delay unlike Goliath. And in true nature of what would happen if a small cliff decided it was sick of your rubbish and grabbed you, the damage is insane. Repeated leaving an increasingly deep imprint of his fist in your face, Behemoth has no mercy and takes no prisoners. If you tongue grab someone and Rock Wall them in with you, use Fissure and then pounce them. Unless it's Assault, the Hunter will be powderized.

Skills and Perks

Behemoth can make use of many Perks and his early game is VERY important, so your skills need to be spot on to your play-style.

Recommended Perks:

  1. Smell Range - You NEED to know where Hunters are early game, and this will do wonders.
  2. Feeding Speed - What do I need to explain, slow monster, eat fast!
  3. Cooldown Reduction - Late game insurance.
  4. Stamina Increase - More hunter pan cakes, and get around faster.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Banished Perks:
  5. Movement Speed - Who cares? You have Roll! If you really just cannot get away from the hunters, then you COULD get this since it will increase how far your roll takes you by 20%.
  6. Climb Speed - If hunters are climbing ♥♥♥♥, tongue grab them, if you are having trouble in the terrain, give yourself breathing room with Rock Wall. Better options.
  7. Armour Regeneration - Oh please, you are not going to regenerate THAT much armour, just wall yourself in and feed, you never really notice this perk.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    If you feel the need:
  8. Damage Bonus - You already deal high damage.. DEAL MORE!
  9. Damage Resistance - You have alot of life and armour but that weakspot is harsh, this might help. If you are shot while rolling, very little damage is going to get through.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SKILLS

Alright, decide what you are going to do, are going to mad rush farm Wildlife and get out of dodge, or are you going to take is easy and be more careful and sneaky at times?
If the former: Get Tongue Grab (Lv1) and 2 into Fissure for some good farming.
If the latter: Max Rock Wall. It will save your life, seriously.
My personal loadout is:
Tongue Grab * / Fissure **
Tongue Grab * / Fissure *** / LavaBomb **
Tongue Grab * / Fissure *** / LavaBomb *** / RockWall **

But remember, it's all about how you play, if you don't want to do that, that's totally okay, it's just a suggestion.

Things to look out for

Well Behemoth has a few enemies than CRIPPLE him. I will cover them all and give my best advice what to do against them, but be warned: They arn't going to be easy to deal with, I still struggle against them.

  1. Slim: This insectoid hunter deals massive damage, heals massive hp, and blocks your smell (which is just horrible) he can also revive incapped hunters without touching them. Normally I like to target assault first since a medic cant keep up the heals, but Slim CAN and will also deal huge damage to you. Target this guy FIRST, it's your only hope. (Soon to be Nerfed)
  2. Sonny: I can't stand her, honestly, her shield drone is madness, it will protect hunters after you hit them. Sonny often places the drone up high where you cannot reach it, you either wall off your prey and crush him/her, Or try taking her out first, maxing tongue grab (not usually recommended) and try grab her, get her out of her team.
  3. Hank: Not a HUGE problem, but Hank does have orbital barrage which if you are trapped or are casting a long ability, it might just mess you up. He also deals legendary damage with the laser cutter and can shield the assault/medic. DON'T IGNORE THE BEARD!
  4. Mammoth Birds: Their shocks can deal insane damage if you attack them at the wrong time, always pounce or tongue these buggers.

Final Notes

One last thing: Behemoth has a very different objective in combat, instead of going after a medic or support, your focus is to get someone on their lonesome and unite their face with the earth. If you get the Assault all alone... EXCELLENT your biggest threat just made a terrible mistake.

Ontop of that, there is no medic out there that can out heal your roll attack spam. Use it in combination with Fissure for an easy kill even at stage 1. If Laz is on their team, kill someone (they wont be getting many heals) then rock wall yourself in with your free meal.

Just remember guys, Behemoth is without a doubt a harder monster to play than the others, I will be very impressed if you win your first match as him against a full player hunter team, so don't give up if you arn't winning your matches I failed my first bunch of games, then I tried unlearning what I had from Goliath/Kraken/Wraith, after that i got on a 'Roll' and found an incredible monster that will stomp his enemies to dust.

Feel free to post your awesome battle or escape stories in the comments, I love this community and I hope one day it will expand.
