I’ve decided to create this guide since I keep getting messages asking about the broken Expert achievement and it looks like the developer isn’t willing to fix it.

I was able to earn the achievement using the non-steam version of the game from Big Fish Games.

1. Download and extract the file below. It’s a save taken in the BFG version on hard difficulty right after the intro. Remove spaces from the link.

2. Disable cloud saves for the game on Steam.
   Right click on the game in your Library > Properties > Cloud > deselect checkbox
   
3. Run the game, start new adventure and right after the intro save and exit.
4. Copy and overwrite extracted files to:
   C:Users<your_username>AppDataRoamingFive-BN GamesDarknessAndFlame_TheDarkSide_F2PSteam<your_steam_id>save

5. Run the game from Steam as normal.

It’s easy to check if you’ve done it correctly: place your cursor over a collectible item and if it stays as regular arrow everything’s all right. If it changes into a hand than something didn’t work.
