What To Do

Even since I started playing the Total War series with the first Shogun game one strategy has worked and continues to work in every single total war game. You can look at it as a flaw, you can try to justify why the autoresolve calculates its victories this way, and I'm not here to explain why it does work. I'm just stating that it does.

That strategy is volume. Pure and simple volume of soldiers and armies will win you the game, every time. I'm also not talking about volume of quality troops or general, I'm talking about masses and masses of the cheapest units you can afford and just making more and more armies.

You'll easily be able to field anywhere between double to triple your opponents armies using this method and you'll find yourself steam rolling across the map. Don't bother with researching stronger units or even upgrading your units until you start hitting army limits, its only at point that there is even justification in doing that. Leave all the nonsense about army unit composition, troop positioning, strategy and tactics for the multiplayer.

Enjoy overrunning China, regardless of your faction using this strategy, and also not having to fight any battles. I mean, its not like you got the game to play the battles did you?
