This group actually has roots going back before the war. As it turns out, a young couple once visited Jerusalem, where they claimed to have received Divine Truth. After returning home, they gave themselves new names — Ioann Swami and Maria Devi Christos. These names supposedly represent Elijah, Enoch, and Adam — who had different incarnations throughout time — and also the Virgin Mary, Jesus’ bride, Eve, Isis, Princess Olga, and so on — basically claiming to be divine incarnations. They went on to found this Brotherhood, which gained traction before the war but was later persecuted. Eventually, the founders ended up behind bars and renounced the faith — and so did most of their followers. Still, some people held on to the belief. One of them was Navufey — one of the so-called Ten Apostles — who would go on to become the Brotherhood’s new leader, starting to perform rituals at home. When the nuclear war began, their shelter wasn’t destroyed in the bombing, which boosted their reputation among survivors. Navufey went on to build a fortified residence in the ruins, and later took over the “Gosprom” station, turning it into the Brotherhood’s new base. By the 2030s, Navufey had established strict discipline, turning the place into a cult — complete with sacrifices, religious services, and sending people out to fight the “two-headed serpent.”

Looking at the group’s history, it’s clear that the founders deified themselves, committed blasphemy, and mixed in occult ideas. They also gave up on their beliefs the moment things got tough — showing just how shallow and false those beliefs were. Their followers, on the other hand, used later so-called “miracles” to build a totalitarian, destructive cult — a prime example of where pride can lead...

This group has roots that go way back. Saratov itself wasn’t hit by nuclear strikes, but the Volga River flooded much of the land, forcing locals to adapt to new conditions. People came together in a kind of community called “Council,” which was later joined by Silantiy — a former district Committee worker and an escapee from a psychiatric hospital — who began preaching the Good News.

But over time, Silantiy’s heart became hardened. As he gained influence among the locals, he overthrew one of the leaders of Council, secured his power, and turned the group into the Church of the Water Tsar. Faith began to fade into the background, replaced by an iron-fisted totalitarian regime: technophobia, viewing electricity as a sin, ritual sacrifices, the worship of a giant Mutant Catfish as a guide to Paradise, battles with ball lightning, suppression of dissent, justification of violence, and so on.

After the “Aurora” crew intervened around 2035, the cult was significantly destabilized.

Looking at the information above, it’s clear that Silantiy may have truly started out righteous. But without any foundation to support that righteousness, his heart grew hard as he began to seek glory and power for himself. By overthrowing the existing government and establishing a totalitarian regime, Silantiy destroyed his flock, turning it into a system built on fear rather than love. In the end, he got what was coming to him.

When the nuclear war began, there were many churches and temples around Zhitomyrska Station. Most of the clergy and congregation managed to reach safety at the station or in Akademmistechko. After the war, the priests established the Christian faith at Zhitomyrska — but reformed it, adding violent practices such as whipping wrongdoers and burning heretics at the stake. These punishments were personally carried out by Father Nikodim, the self-proclaimed Patriarch of the entire metro system.

A few years later, a deadly epidemic swept through, turning stations into chaos and the Christians into wandering missionaries who traveled from place to place converting people. Eventually, the pandemic came to an end — and Father Nikodim died during one of his executions, though the exact reasons were never revealed.

Looking at the story above, we see a once peaceful Christian community that, under the pressure of fear, turned into a strict and violent regime — where dissenters were whipped and heretics burned at the stake, and those who sinned were beaten with whips. And, just like in other cases, in the end, he got what he deserved.

Very little is known about this group: between the stations Admiralteyskaya-2 and Nevsky Prospekt, there is a passage that leads to an underground city beneath Saint Isaac’s Cathedral. There, a small community of priests lives, singing hymns and praying to be allowed back to the surface — a reward they believe awaits them for their righteousness.

The city itself is a symmetrical underground temple, with one wall decorated in icons. Most of the area is filled with construction materials: planks, scaffolding, and other debris.

Though the text above is short, it clearly shows a peaceful community of priests who chose to live underground. Despite their difficult circumstances, they remained faithful to Christ and never denied Him — even in such extreme conditions. A true example of unwavering faith.

Not far from Nyamiha metro station, inside an underground drain beneath the Island of Courage and Sorrow, a former Orthodox priest named Tikhon set up the Monastery inside a military tent. From there, the Monastery grew — it got a church school, a farm, a hospital, a guesthouse for pilgrims, and much more. Many believers, after hearing about the Monastery’s existence, went looking for it through the underground nuclear shelter system known as “Muos.” The number of residents grew to around 200 people, including not just Orthodox Christians but also other Christian denominations.

Because of the potato farming, there was high mortality, but the stream of pilgrims kept it from getting out of hand. Later, the main powers of Minsk — namely the States of America and the Belarusian National Forces — tried to destroy the group, but all they managed to do was torture a young Nun, who was then declared a Holy Martyr by the community. Eventually, after a war between the community and the “Ribboners,” all factions merged into a single organization — the Republic — while the Monastery remained the main Orthodox center of “Muos.”

However, by 2053, after a series of setups and pressure on the inspectorate by psychologists, the Monastery was shut down. The clergy were sent to labor camps, and religion itself was banned. The last remaining priest, Father Andrei, who had been hiding in the Monastery’s secret rooms, was found in 2057. He repented and went on to preach Christianity in “Muos.”

Reading the text above, you can see the story of a martyred Church — crushed, but never destroyed. Their story mirrors Christ’s: love, persecution, death, betrayal, and the resurrection of Spirit through one faithful soul — once a coward, now filled with repentance. This group is clearly an example of true faith with genuine repentance.

Once underground, they set up a new underground Church, continuing their prayers with the congregation below ground. Some priests began walking through metro stations, preaching God’s Word.

Reading the text above, you can see a peaceful Christian group similar to the early Christians of Rome, who took refuge in catacombs, continuing to carry the Light. They keep walking through the dark tunnels of the metro, proclaiming Life and Salvation through Jesus Christ.

Almost immediately after the nuclear war, two surviving Catholic priests called people to keep their faith in God. On the day called the Schism with the Priests, 400 people out of 632 left. The remaining 232, called Nihilists, hated the Catholics, considering their faith and worldview foolish. Later, the Catholic community settled in the dungeons under the Manufaktura Mall, sending stalkers into the shopping center and developing. But due to Christian disputes, the community suffered many small splits, eventually leading Father Remigiy to slit the throat of the second priest, accusing him of godlessness. Remigiy seized power and turned the community into yet another regime, becoming a dictator and a demigod in the eyes of the community. Soon, in 2031, Nihilist forces will attack the community. The outcome of the battle remains unknown.

Looking at the text above, we see initially a good group that helped many keep their faith, but it fell into sin because of discord and pride. The first priest decided to kill the second for power, turning everything into an authoritarian regime. This example teaches us that faith without humility and love turns into something vile.

Before the nuclear war, Jehovah’s Witnesses were an international religious organization that, in the years leading up to the rocket strikes, actively predicted Armageddon. During the missile strikes, community members took refuge in a stopped train in the tunnel between “Serpukhovskaya” and “Tulskaya” stations. The community’s leader was appointed Elder John, who began recruiting brothers into the Flock. Those converted to the faith are fed, welcomed, and cleaned up, given a white robe. However, in the Metro 2033 book, after Artyom refuses to accept the Faith and leaves them, one follower yells after him during a chase to return the robe.

After a failed expedition in the winter of 2033, the community joined with a secular group called “Bolelschiki” to form the “Northern Horde.” Later, the tunnels collapsed because the new group threatened the capital’s organization, the “Town Hall.”

Amid general collapse and struggle for survival, a group of Holy Servants began attracting believers who had lost hope, forming a community. Many missionaries walked through the labyrinths of Wrocław, calling people to the Holy Land — the eastern part of the underground tunnels. Initially, the community was open to all seeking comfort and peace. However, within the first five years, power shifted towards religious radicalism. The community proclaimed itself the "New Vatican," electing its leader Tomasz II with the title "Over-Pope," who ordered all tunnels leading to the "New Vatican" to be blocked, leaving only one controlled passage. The "New Vatican" was isolated from the "sinful" world and began controlling trade routes. Later, the situation became unstable after a cannibal attack and the murder of the community’s archbishop, which led the new "Over-Pope" Tomasz III to justify mobilization and declare a Holy War, recruiting all men able to carry a gun into the "Army of God," causing mass flight from the community.

Carefully studying the above text, we see a rather sad story: the faction began as a bastion of Light, helping believers who had lost hope, but consumed by power, it turned into a spiritual prison. The Over-Pope, choosing the path of force, domination, and cruelty, led the flock into the abyss of fanaticism, forgetting the meaning of True Holiness.
