Everything in the game that shows up in the “Customise” menu, and how to get them.

Introduction

In METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE, Weapons and Outfits can be bought and enhanced in the “Customize” interface under the “Story” menu. Most of these items are obtained via playing through the story, doing certain achievements, or completing VR missions.

This guide will be going through all of them in the game.
This will help players going for the [Ich Liebe Kapitalismus] Achievement.

For PS3/Xbox360 Users:

The standard version of the game on consoles does not come with a certain 5 skins & 1 weapon that are available in the PC version. Instead they were released as DLC bundled with pre-orders and different editions back in 2013. However they are available to purchase now on the marketplace.

If you are playing a standard PS3/Xbox360 copy of Metal Gear Rising, you CANNOT get these without purchasing them first on the PSN/Xbox Games Store! Prices vary.

These are:

• Inferno Armor
• White Armor
• Commando Armor
• Cyborg Ninja Armor + FOX Blade
• MGS4 Raiden Custom Body

Body

Custom Cybory Body – Obtained Automatically.

Default Skin. Has no special effects.

Custom Cybory Body (Red) – Get at least bronze in 30% of VR training missions.

Costs 15,000 BPIncreases damage & absorbs more electrolytes from opponents, however you take more damage in return & have a higher energy usage.

Costs 15,000 BPBoasts high defensive ability, at the cost of doing less damage dealt to enemies & having less energy absorbed from foes.

Custom Cyborg Body (Yellow) – Get at least bronze in 100% of VR training missions.

Costs 15,000 BPIncreases energy absorption from enemies while keeping your own energy consumption at a minimum. Also grants less damage taken from enemy attacks. At no drawbacks.

Custom Cyborg Body (Desperado) – Complete Chapter 4.

Costs 15,000 BPImproves your detection rate, allowing you to go undetected better.

-Decreases the chance of being spotted. Enemies will take more time to notice you.

Suit – Complete Chapter R-00 on Very Hard.

Costs 20,000 BP. Has no special effects.

Mariachi Uniform – Complete Chapter 3.

Costs 20,000 BP.Sombrero sits on top of the cardboard box and metal barrel when you hide in them.

Standard Cyborg Body – Complete the game on Hard.

Costs 20,000 BP.Has no special effects.

Original Cyborg Body (MGS4) – Paid DLC, included by default on PC.

Costs 20,000 BP. When entering AR mode, Raiden’s original visor closes over his face and it’s four red internal lights glow. These red lights also glow during a Zandatsu.

Gray Fox (MGS1) – Paid DLC, included by default on PC.

Costs 20,000 BP. Gray fox’s eye light slightly glows when performing a Zandatsu.

White Armor – Paid DLC, included by default on PC.

Costs 10,000 BP.Allows Raiden to carry up to 10 ration packs instead of 5, aswell as up to 10 electrolyte packs

High-Frequency Blade – Unlocked Automatically.

Equipped by default.Has no special effects.

Armor Breaker – Unlocked by obtaining all left hand ID chips & then completing any level after.

Costs 20,000 BP.Has a chance to instantly turn armoured targets to “full blue” vulnerable status with every hit.

HF Long Sword – Unlocked by finishing all non-DLC VR missions with a “1st” ranking.

HF Wooden Sword – Unlocked by discovering all the Men in Boxes (M.I.B).

Costs 5,000 BP. You are no longer able to “slice” targets in blade mode, also has a chance to “vanish/despawn” all human opponents with every hit.

HF Murasama Blade – Unlocked by completing the Main Storyline once.

Costs 10,000 BP.Stronger & Faster than the default HF blade, has a glowing red effect w/ red electricity sparking.

HF Machete – Unlocked by obtaining 10 data storage items.

Costs 5,000 BP.Incredibly short range and weak, but compensates with extremely fast attack speed. You can still parry just fine with it.

FOX BLADE – Unlocked as part of the North American limited edition & included as standard with UK and Australian editions of the game. Now available as DLC for Consoles for $2.99 USD. Included by default on PC.

Costs 200,000 BP, even via code.Has the same stats as the default HF blade, but is able to cut through any & all armour instantly and is capable of breaking through all enemy blocks (Including boss battle’s blocks). It’s completely overpowered.

{Instant dismemberment effect}

HEBIDAMASHII (蛇魂) – A weapon exclusive to the Japanese version of the game, available part of the VR Missions DLC for Japanese consumers only. Cannot be obtained on PC or outside Japan.

Costs 10,000 BP.The sword will play unique Solid Snake voicelines depending on the situation, for example, upon encountering one of the Men In Boxes (M.I.B), Snake will remark: “People who like cardboard boxes can’t be that bad!”. Otherwise it has the same stats as the wooden sword.
NOTE: You do not need this weapon to unlock the “Ich Liebe Kapitalismus!” achievement.

Unique Weapons

L’Étranger (Pole-Arm) – Unlocked after defeating Mistral.

Costs 10,000 BP.Incredibly good at performing combos, the L’Étranger does chips of damage at fast speeds, rather than the normal, lesser frequent strikes doing stronger damage with the swords. It’s very good at “stunning” enemies over and over due to it’s damage tick speed.

Dystopia (Sai) – Unlocked after defeating Monsoon.

Costs 10,000 BP.Enables Raiden to “pull himself” at an incredibly fast speed towards enemies, closing the gap instantly while also minorly damaging & stunning the enemy with a kick. Has a rechargeable “stun” ability.

Bloodlust (Pincer Blades) – Unlocked after defeating Sundowner.

Costs 10,000 BP.A slow, lumbering weapon that outputs INCREDIBLE damage to any enemies caught in it’s pincer strike. It’s strike also has a very wide reach, able to grasp a whole group of enemies in one go. Will crush armour in most cases and kill (most) of the base human enemies in the game in 1 strike, severing them in two.

Wigs

Infinite Wig A – Unlocked by collecting 10 Left Hand IDs and finishing the game on Normal.

Costs 50,000 BP.Allows raiden to have infinite grenades, rocket launchers, 3d photo frames etc.

~Grants infinite(∞) subweapon ammo.

Infinite Wig B – Unlocked by collecting 20 Left Hand IDs and finishing the game on Normal.

Costs 50,000 BP.Allows Raiden to use Ripper Mode infinitely, however you need to re-enable Ripper-Mode everytime you enter “Blade Mode”.

~Grants Raiden infinite(∞) electrolytes.

Blade Mode Wig – Unlocked by collecting all 30 Left Hand IDs and finishing the game on Hard.

Costs 50,000 BP.Attacking in Blade Mode instantly cuts armour enemies, same as Fox Blade.
