( Frontline & Invasion ) Guide
Introduction: Expectation & Explanation
First and foremost, I will start by saying what this guide is NOT. This guide is NOT a guide to become a competitive legendary swordsman in Mordhau. BUT it will teach you how how to kill said warriors on the battlefield through cooperation and teamwork. This guide is also NOT a authoritative fashion guide on how to dress, do your own thing. BUT it shall show you some of my Battlefield sets inspired by the Free Guard and the Iron Company for you to use or to take inspiration from. So, if you would, put the 1411's down, and continue reading.

Strategy: Formation and Fittings
Firstly BANDAGES which cost a single point should be used more often in more of your builds. If you use my (R) rebind all the better. They keep you in the fight like the Bloodlust perk though honestly I find the bandage to be generally better at doing so. Bandages even have a support function if you drop them to your team. When to use them? If you get hit on the battlefield losing more than half your health or close to it and teammates are around you, disengage, stop being so kill hungry and start back stepping a few feet and heal with bandages while keeping your eye on the enemy and seeing if they try to push for you because you are damaged if so maybe do a surprise bait stab. The other time is out of combat but make sure to check your surroundings.
Secondly BILLHOOK and other long stabby weapons. For when the teams are stacked up on the battlefield it would be better to stab the enemy or use overheads than to swing side to side quite possibly hitting your teammates. Using my Keyboard Rebinds will help with this. Look, honestly reality is you will still hit teammates no matter what from time to time and when you accidentally team kill a simple sorry in text chat is always chivalrous, but if you are on the field of battle and cannot type most likely your teammate will understand it was an accident, especially if you follow this guide. Hold shields and fast melee also work well in formations with longer ranged melee.
Thirdly FORMATIONS will make team damage even less likely to happen. A type of formation is to stand behind to the right or left of a teammate by about six to ten feet and stay in that general distance with them then stabbing your weapon and stepping forward quickly AFTER your teammate does his initial swing. This is a type of formation fighting making you and your teammate much stronger than both of you would be solo and things like this are used in some high level team combat. Another formation but this for fighting a single yet mighty warrior is if you are three soldiers, two of you for the sides of said warrior spread out by about ten feet from the warrior and one of you behind the warrior. Surrounding them. When attacking like this if the warrior goes for one of the soldiers the two other soldiers push the warrior from the other directions. No matter who you are fighting few can deal with such a formation.
Fourthly TEAMWORK such as general communication with your comrades can be rather hard in Mordhau and is rarely used and sadly quite often is actively discouraged outside of discord. But call outs using team chat can come in handy depending on the reliability of your team and doing so can paint a picture of you as a teammate who is willing to strategize on the part of your team. Few, will listen, but maybe few, is all that you need. Telling your teammates that you placed a flag is generally useful when playing a battle engineer and last ditch efforts such asking to be guarded while doing objective may sometimes pan out. Other than communication protecting your teams archers and engineers from the other team and sadly oftentimes a troglodyte on your own team is a honorable thing to do. Also do not forget this is not duels this is the battlefield do not leave your teammate for a false sense of honor for you are not honoring your enemy or ally in 1v1's you are betraying your teammate and letting them die. Trust me when I say this, your enemy will not make the same mistake.
Artillery and Engineers: Positioning and Percision
Artillery and engineers are often the backbone of a winning team even more so at times than the person who top frags though do not say that or you will be flogged and beaten. To play either class effectively you need to know positioning. When it comes to the engineer where and when to setup as an engineer is hard to learn and due to it being situational from map to map impossible for me to teach in this guide. Usually off to the side or at an often missed but close to the battle location more nearing where your team spawns than the enemy... Got that? Good. As for Artillery? I personally prefer to use a javelin thrower or a crossbowman. Both are high dmg and decent precision. Stand behind your team and preferably at an elevation. It is risky to try to shoot and help a teammate engaging in combat because how much footwork is used in this game you are almost as likely to hit your teammate to the enemy. Solution? One solution is to hit enemies entering the battle making it easier for your team to finish the job or when they are leaving the battle to heal usually killing them. The second is to learn timings from certain ranges and just shoot the enemy when you know your teammate is going to step back.
Keyboard Rebinds: Convenience and Clarity
I WOULD HONESTLY TRY THIS FOR TWO ROUNDS IF I WERE YOU! You can reset key rebinds if you do not find these enjoyable but honestly for general gameplay I find these to be my favorite set of key rebinds I have tested over the years. Plus its only four changes from the default.
1.) Weapon Mode / Reload (R) to (Middle Mouse Button)
2.) Equip Slot 3 to (R) for quick pullout for bandages but keep default 3.
3.) Right Upper Strike to (Thumb Mouse Button Two)
4.) Stab to (Thumb Mouse Button One)
These four changes have made my combat much better personally.
