How to install GTA IV: San Andreas
Hello Steam users, today I am going to teach you how to sucessfully install and play GTA IV: San Andreas Mod.
*Somewhere in the Installation you may receive an error message saying that you don’t have the Episodes From Liberty City, just click [Ok] and ignore it, you just need the legit copy of GTA IV Steam Version to be able to play this Mod.*
-Requirements-
/! You will need a Rockstar Social Club account in order to acess the Multiplayer feature, if you don’t have an account, you can create one here :

/! You’ll NEED Games for Windows Live installed, also you’ll need to have an account in order to save and play multiplayer, you can download and create an account in here : Games for Windows Live, Download & Sign Up[www.xbox.com] . /!
/! You’ll need to be able to see hidden files and folders. /! To do so :

If you previously tried this mod, you’ll have to totally redownload the game from Steam in order to have a clean basis.
And you will have to Remove ALL your saves from the GTA IV folder, for example : C:Documents and SettingsLegenÐLocal DefinitionsApplication DataRockstar GamesGTA IVsavegames
To access Application Data folder, you have to allow hidden files and folder as explained above.
If you want to play the normal version of GTA IV back, just save these save files and re-add them later.

-Steps-
• 1/ Go on this Website : [link] Wait for the page to load, and Click on “Download“, then a logo will show up “Grand Theft AutoIV San Andreas Beta #3 (08.01.12)“, just click where it says “Beta #3 (08.01.12)” and a new page will pop up.
• 2/ At the newly loaded page, where it says “GTA IV: San Andreas BETA 3 “World Enhancement” – NEW!” there’ll be some download links presented as such :

(I’d recommend to use the Torrent Version, but each version will do it. If you don’t use a Torrent Client, I suggest you to download Utorrent).
• 3/ When the download is over, create a new folder in your documents for example “GTA IV: San Andreas“.
• 4/ Now go to the download folder “[GTAIVSA.com] GTA IV San Andreas BETA 3 World Enhancement” and run the IVSA setup.
• 5/ You have to select english language, otherwise the installer will crash.
• 6/ A message talking about the Cracked Version will appear. This doesn’t matter, just ignore it and click on Ok.
• 7/ A message will appear “GTA Folder Preparation“. You just have to click on “copy my existing GTA folder and prepare the copy“.
• 8/ You’ll now be asked to choose folders.
Where it says “Copy From:” Click on “[Browse…]” go search for your Steam GTA IV folder, for example mine is C:ProgramsSteamSteamAppscommonGrand Theft Auto IVGTAIV, select the GTA IV folder correctly.
Where it says = “Install to:”, Click on [Browse…]. This time you will have to select your GTA IV San Andreas folder that you previously created in your documents. For example mine : C:Documents and SettingsLegenÐMy DocumentsGTA IV San Andreas. Select the folder and click Next.
Then press Ok on the message that is gonna show up, it is to remove unnecessary files.
The wizard should then tell you that there is no save files, it is perfectly normal, if the wizard tells you that there is a save file, remove it.
• 9/ The installation wizard will now start. (“Welcome to the installShield Wizard for GTA IV : San Andreas..“).
You just have to click on Next, accept the terms and click on Next one more time.
• 10/ The right folder will already be selected, so you simply have to hit Next one more time.
• 11/ Here comes a delicate part. You’ll be asked to choose between Recommended or Custom Installation. We’re using the Steam Version of GTA IV, so we’ll simply choose the Recommended. If you want the cheats for example, you can use the Custom Installation. If you choose Custom Installation, leave the options as they are already selected besides the cheating options. Check the Install Wizard to get a detailed list of all cheats.
Hit Next one more time and wait for the installation to finish.
• 12/ Important : at the end on the installation do not run the game. UNCHECK “Open the ReadMe file and the Play GTA IV: San Andreas now“.
Run the game from the shortcut.
• 13/ Now you can add this game to your non-steam games in order to be able to play it on Steam.
If The game doesn’t work on Windows 8, right click on GTA IV : San Andreas shortcut, go to “properties” and set the compatibiliy to “Windows 7, Windows XP Professional or Vista” and relaunch the game.
Also running the game as administrator might solve some issues.
