Overview
Ever wondered how The Summit and its events work? Well, Let’s Get Started!
The Summit Explained
The Summit was added with The Crews’ Wild Run Expansion, which is a series of events or qualifiers through out a month with the main Summit Event being hosted at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the final week of a month.
Think of it like a Monthly Festival with Events and Prizes, no matter what level of player you are!
The main prerequisite is to own the Wild Run DLC

Summit Qualifiers
Summit Qualifiers are the Pre-Events that also allow entry to the end of month Summit.
– In a Month, there are between 6-8 Qualifier Events
– Qualifiers Run for 3-4 Days before ending
– Each Qualifier has a Theme, There’s normally a clue in the name or picture on the type of Vehicles Required (Motorbike, Muscle Cars, European Vehicles)
– EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE!
If you don’t own a car of the Type or Spec, you will be “Loaned” a car for the event
(Except for the Brand Time Attack Event, You MUST Own the Car in that Spec to compete)
To have free access to the End of Month Summit, 3 qualifier events need to be attended and competed in. After receiving 3 qualifier medals (Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum) in 3 of the qualifiers, The Summit can be attended at the end of the month.
These medals are for your overall ranking when the qualifier finishes, not for the individual events in the qualifier.
An easier way to think of it; 3 Qualifiers Attended as a minimum to be invitied to The Summit.
As Pictured Above
– I have attended 1 qualifier and earned a medal.
– The current qualifier is running and when it ends, I will earn a second medal
– To gain entry to The Summit, I will need 1 more qualifier medal
– There are 4 Qualifiers left in the month before the summit, so I will need to attend at least 1 more Qualifier to be able to participate in The Summit
Free Drive Challenges
Free Drive Challenges are designed for those that would like to create their own tracks or speed trap events.
To gain Qualifier and Summit Ranks in this event, all you need to do is race! The amount of money earned in Free Drive Challenges is used to calculate your ranking.
To get started, in Free Drive, press and hold the comma ( “,” ) button for a couple of seconds. If you are using an XBox Controller, this is normally holding LEFT on the D-Pad.
From the Map Screen, you can select to either make a Race by placing Check Points or make a Speed Trap event by placing the Speed Camera Locations.
Importing Favourite Tracks
Once you have created your Race or Speed Trap and have played it once, it can be saved to your favourites from the menu once complete if you would like to use it again.
Tracks from other people can also be added to your favourites by using the import feature. Selecting Favourites in the Free Drive Challenge Map, press ( “B” ) or if you are using an XBox Controller, Press the Blue X, and type in their tracks’ code.

Free Drive Stunts
Free Drive Stunts are designed for those that would like to create their own tracks or speed trap events.
To gain Qualifier and Summit Ranks in this event, all you need to do is keep being skillful! The amount of money earned in Free Drive Stunts is used to calculate your ranking.
To get started, in Free Drive, press and hold the full-stop ( “.” ) button for a couple of seconds. If you are using an XBox Controller, this is normally holding RIGHT on the D-Pad.
Performing Stunts
The stunts come in randomised screen messages on what you need to do. It seems to be based on the area that you are in but can be summed up in certain events.
As Pictured Above
– I need to be doing 140km/h or more
– On the Right Side of the road
– For 15 Seconds
So, I can either cruise at 140km/h for 15 Seconds until it completes, or I can do 400km/h on the freeway, weaving through traffic and collide with a barrier 5 times (for 15 seconds above 140km/h).
As you progress in Stunt Levels you will earn more money, but they will be more difficult, either requiring particular vehicles and specs, and having less time to complete it!
It will also add more Stunts per Level to reach the next one. In Stunt Levels 1-5 you will need to complete 2 Stunts to gain a level. Level 5+, 3 Stunts, and so on.
If you fail a stunt, your stunt count will be deducted (Levels do not deduct). It’s especially annoying at Stunt Level 17 and you failed Stunt 3, having to do 2 stunts again to gain Level 18.
Skill Events
Skill Events are the same events that you encounter out in Free Drive, except in the Qualifiers or Summit, these are Selected Individual Skill Events that get ranked, not any skill of that type in the area.
These can be previously existing Skill Events, or they can be specially placed Skill Events for that Qualifier or Summit in particular.
To filter the Qualifier or Summit Selected Skills, in your map, select “The Summit” in your filter menu. This will only show you the location of the Qualifier or Summit Hub and will also show you the 3 selected Skill Events that get ranked.
Brand Time Attack / Brand Speed Trap
Brand Time Attacks (or Speed Traps, depending on whether the intern changed Ivory Tower’s Coffee to Decaf) are Specific Vehicle and Spec Events.
The focus is on racing the same vehicle, in the same spec (Street,Dirt,Performance,Raid or Circuit) with the Best Time (or Highest Average Speed if it’s a Speed Trap) on the same track.
This is the event I enjoy the most, and is a good way to play with a vehicle and spec you may not have driven or owned before.
On my YouTube Channel, I try and post these events before the Qualifier or Summit finishes, just so you can see how the Car/Bike/Spec handles, but mostly just for fun!
Sometimes it’s more entertaining watching a smooth run than a fast run (Some of the fastest times I’ve watched conclude with a trashed car and a city wide power outage) or sometimes something out of the ordinary happens…
RX7 Fast Run, and Something a Little Different…
These are some of my older videos, the newer ones are uploaded in 1440p and are of better quality.

Drift Event (DF)
Drift Events are just that. Here’s a track, Use that Drift Spec and Get Yo Sideways On!
Drift can take a lot of practice to get used to, some of the older Crew Players have dubbed this event “Ice Skating” as it feels like the back wheels are blocks of ice.
Compared to how we used to drift in The Crew (Perf Specs in the Mountain States) Drifting the cars smoothly requires a lot of throttle and gear control. Mashing the throttle to the floor and swerving across the road like a Drunken Grandma on Bingo Night won’t get you a high score (Trust me, I’m guilty of this from when it first started).
Start Off with hard throttle until 2nd or 3rd gear, this is mostly personal preference, and try to ease off the throttle for a stable 85%-90% Rev. Then, turn into the corner and counter-steer. Sometimes counter-steer isn’t needed if the correct amount of throttle is applied.
If this is still feeling difficult, pop into the options menu and change the settings for Driving Help and Transmission. The benefit of a Manual Transmission is being able to shift into 3rd gear and not having it shift into 4th Automatically during a drift! (Or just locking it in 3rd Gear for your run)
After a bit of practice, see how high you can get the multiplier.
Larger Multiplier = Larger Scores! = HIGHER RANKING!!
Multipliers are added with consecutive drifting, some tips to try:
– If you are on a straight road, tap the brake to change drift sides to keep the multiplier going
– If you are going too fast, tap the hand brake (DO NOT HOLD IT OR YOU WILL SPIN) to change direction before a braking drift
– If you are a little slow, steer and tap the Boost Button (NOS or what ever you call it) for a second to do a little drift to extend the multiplier count before lining up the next corner
As long as you Drift / Boost / Slide every 2-3 Seconds, you shouldn’t lose your multiplier.
Monster Arena (MT)
Monster Arena is where guys with Mullets, Trucker Caps and Plaid Shirts Drink Beer (or is that NASCAR?)
It’s also where you take a HUGE ASS TRUCK over jumps, through loops, smash targets and do flips!
Monster Arena is another Points Event, more points, better ranking. It is a lot of fun with the right Truck and can be quite a challenge depending on which arena the event is being held at.
As there isn’t too many things to cover here, I’ll just add some tips!
– Sometimes, smashing 5x 100pt Targets in a row is faster than driving around looking for a 500pt Target to smash
– Try and do a flip or spin when jumping for a 500pt or 1000pt target
– There is always a 1000pt target at the top of a loop
– There is always a 5000pt target in the Arena, see if you can find it 😉
– During a jump, flip or spin, always try and face your truck in the direction you’re heading and try to land it flat on all 4 wheels. This should give you a Perfect Landing Bonus of 3x the stunt score! (Always awesome if you get it after flipping through a 1000pt target jump)
Drag Racing (DG)
Ah, Drag Racing. Since the beginning of the automobile, all we ever wanted to do is just go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fast!
The Drag Events are pretty interesting in terms of gameplay, with a couple of “Mini Games” to complete before the Fast Part begins.
As always, the Faster Time is a Better Ranking.
This is scored on the Fastest Time of 3 Runs, For Example:
Run 1 = 12.3 Seconds
Run 2 = 11.7 Seconds
Run 3 = 12.1 Seconds
Your Ranking = 11.7 Seconds
Just be aware that while Automatic Transmission settings do take affect, it is best to know what the buttons for Manual Shifting are before trying this event.
Tire Warmup
To start with, you will need to heat up your tires for the most grip before launching.
Too Cold or Too Hot will cause loss of grip and harm your times.
– Hold the throttle down to perform a burnout
– Watch the Arrow showing the tyre temperature and try to get it on the Green Marker
– If you get it under the green marker, tap the accelerator to spin the wheels just enough to get it in the green area
– If it goes over the green, let go of the throttle and wait. Hopefully it will cool down enough into the green area before the timer runs out
Staging Lights
READY, SET, GO! NO! WAIT! NOT YET!
Staging is all about timing. To get the best launch, you need to punch it when all the lights go Green! This is on the count of 4 Seconds, not 3.
As in, 3 – 2 – 1 – PUNCH IT! (Or, 1….2…..3….NOW)
Manual Shifting
Yes, you read that right, Manual Shifting even if you have it set to Automatic Transmission in your Options.
If you have it set to Automatic, it will still shift Automatically into the next gear, just not when you want it to. Auto will shift at the Rev Limit, but will not give you the boost of that “Perfect Shift”.
Firstly, you will want to know what the “Shift Up” button is mapped to for your setup. After that, the rest is easy.
– When the Rev Marker gets to the Green Bar, SHIFT UP!
– If you were a little early or late on the shift, it will be a Good Shift and you will get a small boost
– If you were on the Green Bar, it will be a Perfect Shift and you will get a Boost
Once you have shifted through all your gears, at the right time, tap your Boost Button (Or NOS, whatever) to empty it all in one go! Just keep pointing at the Finish Line!
There is a method of timing when to use your Boost, it can be at a particular speed or point on the track. The tracks are different depending on the Qualifier so keep an eye out for those bumps!
Crew Events
Crew Events are Select Races that change between each Qualifier or Summit and can be any style of event. Mostly you will find that it is a Time Attack/Time Trial or Speed Trap Event in a particular spec of vehicle. (As pictured above, this is a Performance Spec Time Attack).
Even though you are competing in the event as a Crew (Group), you will still get ranked on the leaderboard individually.
PVP Events
Compete in the most premier of e-peen swinging Player Versus Player action ever! These events can include:
– Unlimited Boost Users
– Rail Grinding with No Slowdown
– Crashing and Shunting from Glitching and Laggy Cars that defy all rational beliefs of gravity!
Honestly though, it’s really not that bad at all, just what the complainers on the forums say 😉
The rankings for the Qualifiers and Summit PVP Event are based on how much total money you have won racing in PVP, the more you win or more events you do, the higher you’ll rank.
Single Spec Only Events
Single Spec Only Events are exactly how that sounds, Any vehicle can compete as long as it’s that spec. Want to smoke the times of your friends in their Circuit Spec Lamborghinis with your newly upgraded Circuit Spec 2010 Mini Cooper? Well Now You Can!
There are a lot of difference and discussion on what is the best car of a type of spec. These events are where you can test these theories out.
Time Attack/Time Trial and Speed Trap Events are the usual suspects here:
– Time Attack: Get the fastest time on the track
– Speed Trap: Get the highest average speed while driving through speed trap cameras as fast as you can!

Exclusive Vehicles and How To Get Them!
I’m guessing this is the section you skipped straight to before reading everything else… Nothing to see here, go read everything above (Or watch the Video) then come back, the following information may not make any sense unless you know what you’re getting yourself into!
You’re back now? OK, Good! Lets talk exclusive cars!
After understanding how the Qualifiers and Summit Works, this is the last detail. When attending The Summit, an Exclusive Vehicle can be won! Allowing you, Yes YOU!, to get it for free and before anyone else can buy it at the Car Dealers.
So far, the availability of the Vehicles have followed this pattern:
– January and February (2016) – Win the BMW RS1200 Trail Bike
– March and April (2016) – Win the BMW M4 (RS1200 Available in April at Car Dealers)
– May and June (2016) – Win the Ferrari F40 (M4 Available in June at Car Dealiers)
So a new vehicle is announced and will be available for two Summits. If you miss out in the First Month, you can try again the next one. If you miss out again, you’ll need to wait another Month until it’s available to be purchased at the Car Dealiers.
So, How can I guarantee you that you get the Exclusive Vehicle? …….. I can’t. But I can show you how to better the odds!
I’ve seen this picture before… >:(
Hold up, there’s a reason it’s there. Notice that the first two qualifiers have a nice blue “+5%” Sticker on them?
Yep, that’s right. EVERY Qualifier that you attend gives you an extra 5% Chance to win the Exclusive Vehicle!
You will get a 15% Extra Chance just by entering the 3 Qualifiers to gain access to The Summit at the end of the month.
BUT, There are 6-8 Qualifiers in a month, and at a +5% Chance Each = 30%-40% Extra Chance to WIN!
(Yes, there is only 6 in the Picture, this is because I won the F40 Last Month and June is a short month)
This 40% Chance is on top of the Medal Reward on completion of The Summit. So…
– Win the Silver medal at The Summit = 20% Chance to Win the Exclusive Vehicle (+30%-+40% Bonus is 50%-60% Chance)
– Win the Gold medal at The Summit = 50% Chance to Win the Exclusive Vehicle (+30%-+40% Bonus is 80%-90% Chance)
– Win the Platinum medal at The Summit = 100% Chance to Win the Exclusive Vehicle (+30%-+40% Bonus is a whopping 130%-140% Chance! WOW!)
So, if you think you might not be able to achieve the Platinum Medal, 80%-90% Chance when achieving Gold is still really good! Just keep racing!
Other Tips and Tricks!
This wouldn’t be a very good guide without more Tips and Tricks! Especially since I may have missed some!
If you guys have anything extra that might help anyone getting started in The Summit Events, drop a comment and I’ll add it in!
Here’s a few to get started:
– Most Skill Event Gates can be entered both ways! If you’re having trouble scoring high in an event, try driving through it from the other side.
– You can select a Friends Ghost from the Ghost Menu at a Skill Event if they have a higher score than you. This way you can see the type of car they used or how they did the event.
– Changing the Vehicle Handling Help Level in your Game Options between “All Help” > “Sport” > “Hardcore” is worth trying. Sometimes changing it in some events can help you find that 3 extra seconds to be faster than your friend!
– If you think you might get a Parts Pack as a Reward, make sure you select the car or bike you want the parts for before logging out (This can also include the last 3 cars you have recently driven as mentioned by DatWut?)
