Add Items via ItemData
This is a short tutorial on how to add items via the ItemData tab. Originally this was useful for adding things that couldn’t normally be added into your Backpack and dropped such as: Eridium, Seraph Crystals, etc. Since Gibbed now includes a quantity field in the Backpack tab, it renders this unnecessary.
However, the ItemData section is still needed to add some of the customizations for characters that are not normally obtainable in game. This tutorial will focus on those but, the general idea is the same for basically any item.
Scroll down to ItemData and hit the down arrow to open up a new window.
Click the Add button near the top-left.
Here you’ll see a few things that you will need. You must enter the item’s Type, Balance, and a Quantity greater than 1. You may also choose to mark the item’s status as Trash, Normal or Favorite. If you have ever used my Heads and Skins drop save, I mark all of the Customizations that are added in this manner as Favorite to distinguish them.
(Note: Customizations added in this manner will show up in your inventory as long as you are not the host. You must load this character into another person’s game. You can then unlock the customizations and then drop them to the ground. There is no need to keep them in your inventory as they will get removed anyway.)
Simply copy and paste in the appropriate Type and Balance for the item and set a Quantity (I always just use 999). Once you have done that, you can click the Add button again to start a new item.
