How to fix Watch Dogs 1 Multiplayer

I have had this issue ever since I got the game. Whenever trying to load up anything multiplayer or online, for example free roam, it would give the error " error! The Ubisoft service is not available. Please try again later. " I noticed there are people who are able to access the servers which brought me to the conclusion that it's not an issue with the servers and they are indeed up. I'd like to give credit to steam user timelapsedfox who originally posted this fix on the watch dogs steam discussions page. I tried this fix yesterday and it worked perfectly.

1- buy standard edition from ubisoft connect (on sale rn for 7.50USD)

2- install the edition and play it for 5-10 minutes (do not play more than 2 hours)

3- launch your steam copy in ubisoft connect

4 - now the multiplayer of your steam copy is going to work if you launch the game on ubi connect

5- refund standard edition (will automatically refund if under 2 hours playtime)

Congratulations! Your steam copy now works with watch dogs multiplayer(only if you launch the game on ubi connect)
