How to get the "Kickstarter Backer" achievement NO MODS/CHEATS

I wanted to find a way to get the achievement using my own save and no one elses, i also had no interest in using SAM or mods and wanted to feel like I earned the achievement. That being said I find the idea of a kickstarter achievement incredibly stupid.

When searching for a guide I couldnt find anything pointing towards a solution aside form the mods, saves, or cheating. Eventually I stumbled upon some Reddit comments that hinted at the idea of certain definitive editions of the game providing the achievement. Specifically the standalone definitive edition on Steam. I did not consider this an option however as there was a patch in June that says it fixed some methods of obtaining the items needed for the achievement and the comments were several years old. I also became frustrated as I attempted to roll the update back on Steam but nothing came of it, I then discovered on an old Steam discussion page that the Steam depot for the kickstarter DLC shows it is included in the standalone definitive edition version of the game. Unfortunately when I added this to cart it says I will not receive a duplicate copy as I already own the game/dlcs through a different version of the definitive edition that doesnt match the one needed. I may have been able to remove them from my account and repurchase but this sounded expensive and unlikely to work as the June patch likely patched the method. One Reddit post in particular gave me some more missing links, where someone spoke of how they unlocked the achievement strangely after playing an old file from their Epic saved game.This was the final piece of the puzzle.

Ok, so to start I owned the game on Steam and made a save with a new character, I did this to ensure I created a "Saved Games" folder connected to Pillars of Eternity and Steam, then I uninstalled the game, not sure this part is required but I decided to. Then, I purchased the game on Epic Games Store (sad, I know but stay with me a moment) Install this, and create a new game. You should see once your able to view your inventory that you have the kickstarter cloak and pet (mainly just check for the cloak if you don't know which is which). Once you have this, save your game and quit out. Now, reinstall the game on Steam and click "load game" choose the save you created on the Epic Games Store version. You should then receive the desired achievement. Lastly, the most important step now, refund the game on Epic Games Store and play it on an actually good platform.

Be careful to meet the requirements of the Epic refund policy, you have to refund it within 14 days of purchase and have less than 2 hours of playtime.

I think the reason this works/exists is because the game released in 2020 on EGS, long after the original release date of the game and the kickstarter. Also, strangely enough both platforms used the very same folder to store the saved game, so you can avoid all the usual file shenanigans things like this usually require.

I also want to note that I never did receive the achievement on EGS which I still don't understand, (not that I care), but don't panic if the same happens for you, just continue with the process and I hope you have the same results as me.
