How to Kill Bonnie (not a meme)
Frozen lake in North Carolina at episode 5
Bonnie the Traitor
She asked us for food for her family, and we came out with a box of supplies. Then we realized Bonnie was part of Carver’s group. When Walter realizes it too, she cold-heartedly says: “Keep moving.”
SPOILER
Even if you ignore this guide and let her live, you’ll later see how truly evil she is. When that Russian kid tries to hijack the car Kenny fixed, he ends up shooting you with an AK. Bonnie looks at Clem, shows a hint of regret but still tries to get into the car and leaves you there to die.
At Episode 5, you reach an unfinished house near a frozen lake in North Carolina. While crossing the ice, this is where Luke’s death sequence begins.
The Only Way to Kill Bonnie
About killing Bonnie, According to the Walking Dead Wiki [walkingdead.fandom.com], Bonnie can die if Clementine fails certain actions. But those deaths are non-canon and result in a game over. You respawn and try again.
Except there is ONE way to kill Bonnie permanently without triggering a retry.
It all comes down to your decision during Luke’s drowning scene.
Until the moment Luke’s ice starts cracking, you are free to make whatever choices you want.
But once the ice finally breaks and Luke is left hanging onto its edge, things become serious.
At this point, Bonnie will repeatedly shout: “Go help him!”
Do NOT listen to her. Instead, do what Luke says. Stay back, Cover him, Shoot the walkers. DO NOT go toward Luke.
This is the part where Bonnie completely messes everything up. There could have been a chance to save Luke if she wasn’t there. Luke was strong enough to potentially pull himself up and crawl out of the cracked ice. But no, Bonnie had other plans…
Once Bonnie sees that you’re not going to help, she will take matters into her own hands. She runs onto the weak ice in an attempt to pull Luke out. Because of her weight and poor judgment, the ice finally gives in completely. Both Luke and Bonnie fall into the freezing water. At this point, our work is only halfway done.
Now comes the most important part of the entire guide.
When Luke is under the ice and starts hitting it from below, you will get the option to break the ice. DO NOT fully break the ice. You can hit the ice a few times, you can pretend you’re trying but DO NOT actually open a path Because Luke will die no matter what you do and breaking the ice only creates an escape route for Bonnie. And that is exactly what we are avoiding. Hit the ice a couple of times if you want to roleplay sympathy, then stop before it fully breaks
As Luke slowly disappears into the quiet depths of the lake, Bonnie is dragged down with him.
They are both dead. Bonnie is permanently gone
Rest easy Luke. You crazy diamond.
