Is my guide the first English guide for this game?
Introduction
So I decided to buy this piece of my childhood when it was on sale. At first it did not even want to launch. It kept crashing. Being frustrated I wanted to refund it but I did not get the refund in a short amount of time. Fortunately. I tried to figure out how to get it working and my tests were successful.
Step 1: Compatibility settings
1. Right-click on the game in your Steam library and select Properties
2. Select the tab “Local files” and click on “Browse local files…”
3. After the window opens up select the folder “bin” and right-click on game.exe and select Properties here
4. Select the tab “Compatibility” and check “Run in compatibility mode” where you may want to choose “Windows 7”. After that, check “Run as an Administrator” as well.
5. Click on “OK” to apply the settings.
Step 2: Editing the config file
1. Open up Explorer
2. Go to “Documents”
3. Open the folder “JoWooD” and then open “NFH2”
4. Right-click on “gameoptions.xml” and select “Edit”
5. Search for the part that says
<screen fullscreen=”true”
and change it to
<screen fullscreen=”false“
6. Save the file and exit.
