Overview
In this guide, I will teach you how to set up Remote Doors. I’ll show you different systems, mechanisms and building procedures to make it efficient and helpful.
Introduction
Hello! Welcome to my guide. I’ll show you, how to set up diffrent kinds of Remote Door Systems and I’ll teach you how to do it properly. First of all – why do you want to set up Remote Door System? Mainly because it decreases the workload of your guards. So, let’s start!
Mechanisms
Basically there is two of them. It can be either remote door or doors opened by a door servo. Now, what’s the diffrence? Remote doors can ONLY be used remotely. Doors opened by servos can also be opened by guards’ keys. That means you can’t open a remote door manually with your guard. So if you have no electricity, you won’t be able to open the door. It’s highly recommended to use door servos instead of remote doors.
Systems
Door system – what causes the door to open. These can be:
- Door Timer (doors open at certain times),
- Door Control System (guard opens the door remotely)
- Pressure Pads (when somebody steps on it).
Building: Door Control System (Controlled Remotely by Guards)
You need following things to make a working Door Control System:
- Door Control [$1000]
- Door Servo [$200]
- Connection – Door Control System—>Servo
When Door Control is placed, guard is automatically assigned to operate it.
Watch out though! A guard, operating a Door Control System can only open 2 doors per second!
Building: Door Timer System
You need following things to make a working Door Timer System:
- Door Timer [$1000]
- Door Servo [$200]
- Connection – Door Timer—>Servo
Unlike the Door Control System, Door Timer System doesn’t need a guard operating it. You just need to place the timer, set when do you want the doors to be opened and connect it to servos.
Building: Pressure Pad System
You need following things, to make a working Pressure Pad System:
- One or two Pressure Pads (depends on situation) placed next to the door. [$100 each]
One Pressure Pad
Two Pressure Pads
- Door Servo [200$]
- Connection – Pressure Pad—>Door Servo
One Pressure Pad
Two Pressure Pads
Tips & Tricks
Thanks for reading my guide! I’ve never done one before, so don’t be too rough ;). Here is a couple of tips, that might help you when building Remote Door System!
- If you have a lot of money, build an additional Door Control System and Door Servos for your Solitary Cells. Janiors and doctors, will be able to get to your prisoner easier.
- For areas like Canteen, Yard, Visitation Room etc. use Door Timers and set them for Freetime/Work (still remember about Eat/Yard time!).
- You can connect one Door Timer to multiple Door Servos.
- You can make Door Servo either open when triggered or close when triggered.
