How to wait for update

Steal one of the NASA's fancy dandy tech and go to SLEEP. Yes this may be just a little risky as you might wake up in the year 3024 but that's a bold assumption that Chapter 2 will be coming out that soon.

This is also probably the most boring way to wait as you're just playing dead for hundreds of years.

Of course, you want to be ALIVE by the time the new update comes out, so in order to do that sell your soul for IMMORTALITY, or a pair of new shiny sneakers, whatever.

After that, proceed to the next steps.

(No you can't sell your soul for the new update because even the devils are waiting for it)

As the section title says, do EVERYTHING THAT'S POSSIBLE IN THIS GAME. That includes creating every single possible contraption/vehicle/structure, downloading all the workshop submissions, creating every single possible world/tile, grinding in survival to its limits, the list goes on.
I'm too lazy to calculate how long all of that would take, but it's safe to assume that by the time you're done the update will be out.

Oh, if that wasn't enough somehow and Chapter 2 is still in development, check out the next one.

Do the same steps as you did before, this time with all the mods. If the mods don't work together or just don't work at all, fix them! You got time anyway and you could graduate from Scrap Mechanic modding school + you'd become a SAINT among creators.

Granted, the whole universe may be gone by the time you're done but who cares we're here waiting for the SCRAP MECHANIC UPDATE.

If Scrap Mechanic Chapter 2 still isn't out by now, there's only one more thing to do. Construct a time machine and time travel far into the future, go forward by eons of years, and repeat this step if Chapter 2 still ain't out yet.

Alternatively, if you want to spend more time with this beautiful game still on the same version, do this.

By the time you've traveled so far into the future, there's one more way to waste time and that is to repeat what you did thousands of years ago - 100% Scrap Mechanic Modded.

BUT ON ALL ACCOUNTS POSSIBLE, you're so far in the future that everything's been abandoned and you're the only vessel left alive by your immortality (except for Axolot cause they keep posting devblogs somehow). Start from your friends' steam accounts, and so on.

If Chapter 2 still isn't out yet, all you can do is to accept defeat as Axolot posts another devblog showcasing the coolest stuff imaginable. You can try to steal their copy, but in the end, you'll only have an unfinished product in your hands.
