LAKHMIDS QUICK GUIDE

army comp tips:
basically the strat is to have alot of missile units and cav. cav give em the run around while slingers/archers pelt away at them. u start with a tier 2 light cav units which is very strong early game. a few spears to protect ur archers, then only a few infantry to clean up the stagglers.

tribesmen are trashy unit but cheap and easy to recruit. can easily overwhelm with numbers. situational unit.

  1. upgrade main settlement move scout just east of gassanids, so u can see tanukids and what sassanids are up to. set settlement to religious influence. just stay at home turn 1 to prevent tanukids raiding u. next turn u can set a war target for gassanids. u can then move close by and sassanids will camp the settlement for u allowing u to take it. (sometimes gassanids just leave and run away its allways different) with war target u wont need to recruit 1 million heavy spears, u dont need to recruit anything. dont break the bank
  2. depending on what happens sassys will probs pull u into war with eastern rome. this is great u will have easy settelment to loot and capture nearby. nearby resources will put u into a good trade position. keep the sassanids happy for now.
  3. ur going to want to expand ur territory while keeping romans at bay. capturin eyptos probably the next move, u can also raid saba, the jews to the south, if u want them to declare war on u and capture that, but be careful of fighting wars on multi fronts, i stayed trading with them for a while. the water west of arabia gives u easy access to looting / raiding roman allys. the abandoned settlement has iron but is expensive to colonise, it may be colonised already, this will save u money when u steal it. i took it early but u may want to wait as can be heavy investment.
  4. carefully manage ur religion and diplomacy, and ur income, while using rebellions to train ur generals. this is quite tricky and u will have alot on ur plate. manage ur wars carefully. companion tents are good temp source of income and can be used to get rid of previous religion. i stayed christian for all early game. try to loot nearby settlements before u expand to upgrade ur own. dont expand to quickly as u have alot to manage.
  5. Sassanids should be weak now and not at home. be careful as romans can come across the water from constantinople so keep lands defended. should be easy to take sassanids main settlements. watch for white huns to the east.
  6. having war with sassanids u should now be in better standing with rome hopefully and u can peace out for hefty tribute and ally with rome if u like.

thats the early game covered, good luck.
