Mafia 3 Achievements Fix

1. Delete save files
Delete this folder:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\2K Games\Mafia III
(If it doesn't exist, skip this part)

2. Download the game from Steam
Self-explanatory.

3. Download older version of the game (patch 1.09)
Go to your browser and paste this link:
steam://nav/console (this will open the Steam console)

Then enter the following commands:
Note: The first download may take a while and won't show progress, so don't worry, it will finish!

4. Replace the original game files with the older patch
Navigate to this directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_360430

Inside, you’ll find two folders. Copy the contents of both and paste them into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III

When prompted, allow the files to be replaced.

5. Prevent the game from accessing the internet
Open Windows Defender Firewall and go to both the Inbound Rules and Outbound Rules sections.

In each section, create a new rule:

Click "New Rule"

Choose "Program", then browse to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mafia III\mafia3.exe

Select "Block the connection"

Click Next, check all three profiles (Domain, Private, Public), and finish by naming and saving the rule.

6. Set launch options
Right-click on the game in your Steam Library and go to:
Properties → Launch Options

Enter the following line (adjust the path if your game is installed elsewhere):
"C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mafia III\mafia3.exe" %command%

This ensures the game launches directly from the mafia3.exe file instead of using the default launcher.

Now launch the game. If you see a message saying "Failed to establish connection with 2K" and the version number in the Game section of the settings shows v1.09 (or similar), then you've successfully installed the older patch!
