Sandbox mode in 2.0

The easiest way to create a new sandbox mode in the new 2.0 update is to create a new map and then use the /cheat command to have but we still don't have unlimited electricity power so in this guide i'm going to teach you how to have unlimited electricity power and have Lab Tiles in the map in case you want them.

Before we start this "Sandbox mode" isn't exactly like the real Sandbox mode Factorio used to have but its really close to it.

First create a new map in Freeplay ( either with or without Space Age), then change the settings as you want, personally for Sandbox I prefer “No Enemies” and “No Pollution”

After the map loads we are going to open the console, the key to open the console varies from region to region but it's always the key above Tab and to the left of the number 1 Key. After opening the Console type /Cheat on the console and hit Enter, first time entering the cheat command the console will show a warning telling that achievements will be disabled for that map if /cheat command is entered again so we need to enter the /cheat command a second time on console to confirm that we want to go into Cheat Mode.

Now we’re on Cheat Mode, we have every item unlocked but we still don't have unlimited electricity power.

In order to have Unlimited electricity we will need to use the Map Editor, for us to use that we will need to use Console again.
Open the console and enter /editor after we enter that Command a small window will appear

• Go to the Entities Tab
  
• Go to the Unsorted tab
  
• Find the “Electric Energy Interface”
  
• Place the “Electric Energy Interface” anywhere on the map
  
• Close the Map Editor by entering the /editor command again on the Console

Now we have Unlimited Electricity on our new sandbox map. You can edit the “Electric Energy Interface” Settings by clicking on it.

In the last part of this guide we are going to turn the map Surface into Lab Tiles and enable the Global Electric Network

To turn the surface of our map into Lab Tiles we need to
• Open Console again and enter /editor command
  
• Go to “Surfaces” Tab
  
• Click in “Removes all entities”
  
• Click in “Fill with lab tiles”
  
• Check “Generate new chunks with lab tiles” THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT otherwise new chunks will not generate with lab tiles
  
• Check “Global electric network” to allow the use of your electricity without using electric poles
