Sonic 3 & Knuckles- The Barrel

Let's say, hypothetically you are playing Sonic 3 (with or without "& Knuckles" on the end) and you encounter a zone called the Carnival Night Zone. The place is good and all, happy as can be until you hypothetically encounter a bouncy barrel that goes up and down. "That's nice", you say hypothetically, "but how do I get past it?" You jump up and down on it over and over and over, but it DOESN'T SINK LOW ENOUGH TO GET PAST IT! It taunts you, refusing to move. You try over and over and over and...then the timer hits 9:59 and you die. Hypothetically you try again and again until you hypothetically rage quit and hypothetically live a frustrated childhood, never quite moving on from that one moment. You hypothetically enter a depression and have a deep seated grudge against that game and then you grow up and then curse Sonic and wonder how he could be so cruel to you and then, hypothetically, you snap and then you look online for help and then feel like and idiot when you see how easy this part was and you could have been enjoying the full game years ago. Then you hypothetically create a guide on a Steam Community hub at 9:00 PM to vent your frustration...hypothetically. Thankfully, you found this guide, so DON"T WORRY I WILL MAKE IT BETTER I PROMISE!

Ok, here comes the tricky part...


Hold up on the control pad...then down. Let me repeat that again. Without jumping, hold UP then DOWN. Alternate back and forth until the barrel sinks low enough to get past it then jump off.











YES! THAT'S IT! THAT'S ALL IT TAKES! That's what ruined my-er that hypothetical childhood. So there you go, enjoy the game now. Use the extra time to cure cancer or something...
