Terraria: The Complete 100% Achievement Guide (1.4.5 UPDATED)

ATTENTION: If you're struggling on a specific achievement you can save yourself some time looking through this guide and press CTRL+F to search for the specific achievement. This is a very lengthy guide.

I've noticed that there aren't that many good achievement steam guides for Terraria, and having as many hours as I do I decided to make this guide for you guys. This guide has taken me 6 consecutive days to write, even then it's still going to get improved throughout days to come. I hope this helps you and I hope this is an easy to follow guide for you.

Throughout this guide you'll notice some sections are categorised under 'Hardmode' or 'Prehardmode' achievements. Unlike what it sounds like, this does not relate to the difficulty you select before your world creation, PreHardmode simply refers to your world before you kill the Wall of Flesh and Hardmode refers to your world after you kill the Wall of Flesh. This is really important as killing the Wall of Flesh majorly changes your world. Think of it as unlocking extra game content but the extra game content is 70% of the entire game.

Before you kill the wall of flesh (Prehardmode) the world is very simplistic with simple mobs that do quite little damage and don't have as much health. Once you kill the wall of flesh you'll gain access to more enemies, NPCs, crafting recipes, armor, weapons as well as overall more exploration content.

The most recent Bigger and Boulder update (update version 1.4.5) has added 22 new achievements. Because of formatting limits, I have split the update's achievements into two sections one for all the Zenith world achievements and one for the rest of them.

Going Oldschool
Bring back the original title screen.

How to earn achievement
Click and hold on the sun in the main menu of the game and move it around you should unlock this achievement.

Sea You Later (crafted at Tinkerer's Workshop
Craft the final upgrade to the Cell Phone.

Crafting Recipe for Shellphone

Magic conch - found in hardmode desert fishing crates
Demon conch - found by fishing in lava
Cellphone - see crafting recipe in 'labor of love achievements' section

Fortune Favors the Bould
Discover a friendly boulder.

How to find friendly boulder
Friendly boulders are found deep underground and are hard to miss as they have a glowing rainbow aura around them. Hit/mine them to activate them and you will get the achievement.

Book Worm
Catalogue every creature in the world.

Complete the Bestiary

Rollin’ In Your Grave
Take a ride in your final resting place.

Ride the coffin minecart
Crafting recipe for the coffin minecart (at the anvil):

• 5 Iron / Lead Bars
  
• 10 of any wood
  
• 10 rotten chunks or vertebrae
  
• Make sure you are crafting in ecto mist (the fog that is generated when you place alot of graves)

Fear The Sun
Dawn the garb of a vampire and get a sunburn.

How to get achievement
Create a world with the vampire seed (type 'whatahorriblenighttohaveacurse' into the seed search bar and you should be able to create it. Have the vampire vanity set equipped (either armor or vanity slots is fine), the set is dropped from special bags dropped during halloween from every mob.
The thing about this seed is since you take damage out in the sun, you will spawn in the caves. Dig your way up to the surface and wait for the sun.

Spicy Licks
Jam out on a six stringed instrument.

How to get achievement
Play one of the few guitars that are in the game:

• Ivy - Dropped by the steampunker if their name is Whitney
  
• Rain Song - Rare drop from flying fish
  
• Stellar Tune - Dropped by the Empress of Light boss
  
• The Axe - Dropped by Plantera boss

Training Day
Get your villagers fully combat ready.

How to get achievement
Use the advanced combat techniques and advanced combat techniques volume two - permanent buffing items which are applied to npc's.

Advanced combat techniques: volume two - obtained when throwing a spell tome into a pool of shimmer

New Digs
Give any villager a new look.

How to get achievement
Douse one of your NPC's in shimmer to transform them.

Organized Chaos
Find the ultra rare Rod of Discord.

How to get Rod of Discord
The rod of discord is a really rare drop from elementals in the underground hallow biome.

Conservationist
Support sustainable logging by planting 100 acorns.

Plant 100 acorns

It’s Shaling Outside
Survive the dreaded rain of boulders.

How to get achievement
Create a for the worthy world seed along with drunk world seed. For time efficiency, make it a journey world with a journey world character so you can control the weather. Make sure you are on surface.
Put the wind on maximum on the journey mode weather controls and switch between monsoon and clear sky weather controls. Keep switching between these rain settings until the boulder rain starts.

Extra Life
Die as a hardcore character and survive to tell the tale.

How to get achievment
Create a world in the constant + celebration mark 10 secrets seeds and die with a hardcore character in the world.

On Fleek
Spot the sun on a “cool” day.

Equip the sunglasses vanity item during a sunny day

Mini-Me
Become a Moon Lord impersonator.

Equip the full moon lord set

Terrarist
Scare your villagers with a stink bug sword.

How to get achievement
Use the flymeal sword on an NPC.

Trash Compactor
Research 50% of all items in Journey Mode.

How to get achievement
In a journey mode world, you can research items by having them in your inventory. Research 50% of all in-game items.

Interdimensional Recycling
Give the Dryad a can of Joja Cola.

How to get achievement
Give a Joja Cola can to the Dryad, this item has an uncommon chance of being fished up and is considered a 'junk item', so fish in very shallow water.

Created this section as I could not fit every 1.4.5 achievement into one section. A good few of the achievements require you to complete tasks on a Zenith world seed.

Zenith world refers to a world that is created on the Zenith world seed. You can do this by clicking on the seed icon in the world creation menu and then selecting Zenith. To put it shortly, Zenith is a combination of many secret seeds that are designed to make the game harder or completely different to play.

Grave Mistake
“Accidentally” kill a friend with your tombstone.

How to get achievement
On a Zenith world seed, when you die your grave becomes a harmful projectile, similar to a boulder. Box yourself in next to an NPC and let your character die.

My People Need Me
Embark on a one way trip into outer space.

How to get achievement
On a Zenith world, go beyond the world's height border.

Queen Machine
Defeated the combined form of the 3 mechanical giants.

How to summon
The boss can be summoned with the Ocram's razor item which can be crafted with all the mechanical boss summons. The boss can only be summoned in Zenith world seeds.

Boulder Lord
Prove your worth against the Moon Lord's worst.

How to unlock achievement
Beat the moon lord in a Zenith world seed.

These are achievements that were all added in the labor of love update (Version 1.4.4). During the update 11 achievements were added:

A Rare Realm
Some very special seeds can lead to unique and rewarding experiences. Can you find one?

How to get this achievement
Upon world creation you need to enter a special seed and load up the world. Here are some of the special seeds you can try:

A Shimmer In The Dark
Shimmer an item into another item. What other transmutations can you find?

How to obtain shimmer
Shimmer can be found in the Aether biome and can be crafted after defeating moonlord into the bottomless shimmer bucket with 10 luminite bars at the ancient manipulator. Throw one of the many items it transforms, see what comes of it.

Aknhumulation Complete
Obtain the Ankh Shield, the finest protection from unpleasant maladies and ailments.

How to get Ankh Shield
To get the Ankh Shield you'd need to go through a hefty crafting process, you'd need to craft some various items before you'd need to combine them.

All below items will be crafted at the Tinkerer's Workshop

Crafting recipe for Obsidian Shield:

• Obsidian Skull - Crafted from 20 obsidian at the furnace
  
• Cobalt Shield - Found in dungeon golden chests

After the obsidian shield is crafted, you will need to craft the Ankh charm, to craft the Ankh Charm you will need to craft the remaining items listed below, Again, at the tinkerer's workshop.

Crafting recipe for Reflective Shades:

• Blindfold - Dropped by Corrupt Slimes, Slimelings, Shadow Slimes, Crimslimes as well as Dark and Blood Mummies
  
• Pocket Mirror - Dropped by Medusa in the marble biome

Crafting recipe for Armor Bracing:

• Vitamins - Dropped by Corruptors and Floaty Grosses
  
• Armor Polish - Dropped by Blue Armored Bones and Armored Skeletons

Crafting recipe for Medicated Bandage:

• Adhesive Bandage - Dropped by Rusty Armored Bones, Werewolf and Angler Fish
  
• Bezoar - Dropped by Hornets, Moss Hornets and Toxic Sludges

Crafting recipe for Countercurse Mantra:

• Nazar - Dropped by Cursed Hammers, Enchanted Swords, Crimson Axes, Giant cursed skulls, Cursed Skulls and Dragon Skulls.
  
• Megaphone - Drooped by Pixies, Dark Mummies, Blood Mummies and the Green Jellyfish

Crafting recipe for The Plan:

• Trifold Map - Dropped by Giant Bats, Light Mummies, Spectral Mummies and Clowns
  
• Fast Clock - Dropped by Pixies, Wraiths and Regular Mummies

When all above items are combined at the Tinkerer's Workshop you will be able to craft the Ankh Charm. When combining the Ankh Charm with the Obsidian Shield you will then finally be able to craft the Ankh Shield.

Black Mirror
Obtain the Cell Phone. You'll never leave home without it again.

Torch God
Invoked the wrath of the God of Torches, and survived long enough to earn its blessing.

How to summon torch god
Place 100 torches underground (does not have to be in the cavern layer).
NOTE: Sometimes more than 100 torches would be required for some players so bring more just in case
Complete the mini encounter and you'll be rewarded with the Torch god's blessing, a consumable. Use the consumable and you'll get this achievement.

An eye for an eye
Defeat Deerclops, the chilly one-eyed monstrosity from a foreign land.

How to summon
You will need the deer thing to summon the deerclops in the snow biome.

• 3 Flinx Fur
  
• 5 Crimtane/Demonite Ore
  
• 1 Lens

Feast of Midas
Obtain Golden Delight, the highest quality meal made from the highest quality . . . ingredients.

Crafting recipe for Golden Delight (Crafted at cooking pot or cauldron)
Golden delight requires 1 golden critter of any type and you'll be able to craft it. Once consumed you'll earn this achievement. Golden critters are rare versions of the critters you encounter around the world, it's entirely up to chance on encountering one, have a bug net handy so you can catch one.

To Infinity... and Beyond!
Fly a Kwad Racer into outer space.

How to get the Kwad Racer Drone
The drone is sold by the cyborg NPC for 10 gold coins after you kill plantera. Once you buy the racer drone fly it up to space.

The Great Slime Mitosis
Find all of the Slime Pets and have them move in!

How to get each town slime

To get this achievement you will need the following slimes to move in:

• Squire Slime - Find a slime and throw a copper shortsword or copper helmet at it
  
• Nerdy Slime - Defeat King Slime and this slime will spawn
  
• Cool Slime - Spawns in during an active party
  
• Clumsy Slime - Spawns randomly near floating islands tied to a balloon, attack the balloon
  
• Elder Slime - Found underground after defeating skeletron in a shaking chest, unlock with golden key
  
• Surly Slime - Can be fished during bloodmoon
  
• Mystic Slime - Throw purification powder at mystic frogs which can be found in jungle surface
  
• Diva Slime - Throw the sparkle slime balloon (Dropped by queen slime) into shimmer

Unusual Survival Strategies
Delay death from drowning by drinking water. It doesn't make much sense, but you did what you had to do.

How to get achievement
Whilst drowning underwater, drink some bottled water

And Good Riddance!
Completely purify all Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow from your world, until the Dryad is satisfied!

Pure World
Clear your world of corruption/crimson and go to the Dryad NPC. If you are struggling create a new world and eliminate the corruption/crimson prehardmode (corruption spread is less severe prehardmode).
Some tips for this achievement is using the drill mount (Drill Containment Unit dropped by the Martian Madness event) or the Celebration MK2.

There are 5 Prehardmode surface exploration achievements:

Timber!!
Chop down your first tree.

Seriously? How can you miss this achievement?
Once you load into your world you should see some trees, use your starting copper axe.

You can do it!
Survive your character's first full night.

Just simply wait
The day-night cycle in Terraria of course works differently to real life time. A minute of real time corresponds to one hour in Terraria. So every 24 minutes in real life will equal to one full day in Terraria. If you get a hold of a pocket watch or find a clock, sunrise starts at 4:30am and the beginning of night time starts at 7:30pm (in game).

Marathon Medalist
Travel a total of 26.2 miles on foot

Don't worry your character's legs won't fall off
Explore to your heart's content!

Into Orbit
You can only go down from here!

Check out what's at the top of your world
Simply build upwards until you reach the height border of your world.

Quiet Neighborhood
Enter a misty graveyard filled with the surly dead.

Time to die
To get this achievement you need to create the newly added graveyard mini biome. To create this biome simply put down atleast 7 gravestones around the same area and fog should appear above the surface blocks. Gravestones can be obtained by dying.

Surprisingly there are no hardmode surface exploration achievements. All the rest of the end-game content achievements involve crafting, underground exploration, equipment and boss slaying.

Ooo! Shiny!
Mine your first nugget of ore with a pickaxe

Where do you find Ore?
Ore is usually found underground however it's possible you can find some ore buried on the side of hills and near the surface. Put that starting copper pickaxe of yours to work!

Hey! Listen!
Encounter a fairy.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Terraria Ocarina of Time
Throughout your time exploring underground you'll encounter a fairy flying towards you. The fairy will then point you towards some treasure so be sure to not sleep on that!

I Am Loot!
Discover a golden chest underground and take a peek at its contents.

Finding golden chests
Speaking of underground exploration, every now and then you'll come across old, collapsed wooden structures underground which contain either a gold or a wooden chest.

Watch Your Step!
Become victim to a nasty underground trap.

Mind your head... and Feet
Throughout your journey into the deep caves of Terraria you'll encounter some booby traps. Most of these traps are wired to pressure plates. You'll encounter poison dart traps and boulder traps which are the most common underground traps.

Lucky Break
Survive a long fall with just a sliver of health remaining.

Just a scratch
This is under this category simply because you're able to find more steep drops than you woud've found in the surface. Find a drop and jump. If it doesn't trigger the achievement go back up to the top of the drop and add a few blocks to the height of the drop.

Heart Breaker
Discover and smash your first heart crystal underground.

Finding a life crystal
Life crystals are found deep underground. You don't necessarily need to reach the cavern layer but you'll soon enough come across one during your underground exploration. Use the pickaxe to break it. Heart crystals increase your total health, you can increase your health up to 400 with life crystals. Life crystals are especially common in the jungle, undeground mushroom biomes as well as granite and marble biomes.

Dead Men Tell No Tales
You were so preoccupied with wether or not you could open the chest that you didn't stop to think if you should.

Deadly Chests
Not all chests are safe to open. some chests are simply a trigger for an underground trap.

Where's My Honey?
Discover a large bee's hive deep in the jungle.

Where's my Hive?
Hives are fairly common actually. Venture down into the underground jungle, dig around until you find an orange strange structure. You'll know it's a hive since once you mine through it, bees should spawn out to attack you.

Jeepers Creepers
Stumble into a spider cavern in the underground.

Hope you're not afraid of spiders
Spider caverns are one of the more rarer mini biomes. You can find out in the cavern layer which is really deep underground. There is no specific tip on finding these. There are a few in your world, You just need to explore a little bit.

Rock Bottom
The only way is up!ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Dig straight down!
Dig so far down that the world won't let you continue down any further.

It's Getting Hot in Here
Spelunk deep enough to reach the molten underworld.

Go to Hell
Dig down until you reach the underworld. You know you're near it when you start seeing lava.

Smashing, Poppet!
Using explosives or your trusty hammer, smash a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart in the evil parts of your world.

Don't be Shy
Take a deep dive into the evil biomes of your world. If your world has the corruption evil biome (the purple one) you'll encounter some ditches which you can drop down into. Smash the purple glowing orbs with your hammer. If your pickaxe isn't strong enough use bombs or dynamite (bought from the demolitionist). The Crimson evil biome has cave entrances, proceed inside until you find some glowing red hearts, use the same method.

Begone, Evil!
Smash a demon or crimson altar with a powerful, holy hammer.

After killing the Wall of Flesh you'll be rewarded with a special hammer. Use this hammer and swing it at some demon alters found underground in your evil biomes. Smashing them will grant your world with powerful Ores! The more you smash the more Ores spawn.

Extra Shiny!
Mine a powerful ore that has been newly blessed upon your world.

Shiny Indeed
As explained in the previous achievement, after smashing a demon alter take a trip anywhere underground and you'll encounter some new powerful ore.

Get a Life
Consume a life fruit, which grows in the thick of subterranean jungle grass.

Well... Atleast your Healthy in Terraria rather than real life
Make sure you killed atleast 1 mechanical boss beforehand.
Once you've done that, take a trip to the jungle and you'll be able to get yourself some life fruit, you'll find heart shaped plants which you can destroy and use to increase your health even further.

Photosynthesis
Mine chlorophyte, an organic ore found deep among the thickest of flora.

The Green Greatness
The more Planteras you kill the more Chlorophyte spawns in your world. This ore is only found in the jungle. In order to mine Chlorophyte ore you will need to craft yourself either the Pickaxe Axe or the Drax. Don't use all your Ore though as you can create a farm. The ore spreads as time progresses so you can plant some ore into some mud and watch the ore cluster slowly grow over time.

Big Booty
Unlock one of the dungeon's large, mysterious chests with a special key.

How to obtain biome keys
Biome keys are an extremely rare drop (0.04%) from any mob for the respective biome key you're trying to get, (for example for the jungle key you would have to kill mobs in the jungle), Time of day doesn't matter neither does the elevation of your character (underground or surface you can choose where to farm).
The keys are NOT usable if Plantera hasn't been defeated in the world.

Temple Raider
Breach the impenetrable walls of the jungle temple.

Watch your step!
Once you kill Plantera she'll drop a key for you to use in the jungle temple. You've most likely encountered the jungle temple PreHardmode but was never able to explore it. Well now you can. The jungle temple is a large dark orange/brownish structure found in the underground jungle. The entrance where you can use your key is usually on the top right of the overall structure.

Benched
Craft your first work bench

Shockingly only 50% of players have this achievement
You can craft your work bench after collecting at least 10 wood. Press the ESC key to open up your inventory, at the bottom left you'll find your crafting menu. Click on the work bench. Boom.

Stop! Hammer Time!
Obtain your first hammer via crafting or otherwise

Very simple!
Straight after your work bench achievement you can obtain this achievement by using some of your leftover wood to craft yourself a wooden hammer!

Star Power
Craft a mana crystal out of fallen stars, and consume it.

Crafting a mana crystal
Mana crystals are crafted from fallen stars which drop down onto the surface at night time. Once you gather 3 fallen stars you can craft yourself a mana crystal at the work bench.

Heavy Metal
Obtain an anvil made from iron or lead

Crafting or locating an anvil
If you found a old collapsed underground wooden structure sometimes it may contain an anvil, use your pickaxe and boom you have yourself an anvil. If you want to craft yourself an anvil you need to have 5 Iron/Lead bars smelted from the furnace using the respective ores. The Anvil is crafted at the workbench and can also be purchased from the Merchant for 50 silver coins.

Throwing Lines
Throw a yoyo.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Not all yoyos are crafted but the earliest yoyo you can obtain can be crafted; the Wooden Yoyo. It is crafted from 10 wood of any type and 20 cobweb at the workbench. Congratulations! Your first murderous toy. There are also plenty other yoyos which can be found or dropped as loot from enemies, I'm just explaining the easiest one to get.

Matching Attire
Equip armor in all three armor slots: head, chest and feet.

Armed and Dangerous
The easiest armour set you can obtain is the wooden armour. Craft it at your workbench. Or if you want to be more conventional mine enough ore to smelt it into bars at the furnace. Once you've done that you can craft armour pieces at the anvil. Armor is equipped on the bottom right after pressing the ESC key.

Like a Boss
Obtain a boss-summoning item.

Boss summoning items can also be obtained or crafted. Some underground chests you'll encounter have the suspicious looking eye. You can craft boss summons at the demon alter (found in your evil biomes). Some of the simple boss summon crafting recipes are as follows:

• Slime Crown
  
• Suspicious Looking Eye - 6 Lenses (Obtained from demon eyes at night)
  
• Bloody Spine
  
• Worm Food

Boots of the Hero
Obtain the Terraspark Boots, forged from the finest boots of fire and ice.

To craft the terraspark boots you need to combine most of the boots you can collect in the game along with a bunch of other accessories. The crafting recipe for these boots is extensive so I'll redirect you to the Terraria Wiki until I edit this section into an understandable format without it being just a bunch of text.

Miner for Fire
Craft a molten pickaxe using the hottest of materials.

The molten pickaxe is crafted from 20 Hellstone bars which are smelted at the Hell Furnace.
1 Hellstone Bar is smelted from 3 hellstone ore (found in the underworld) and 1 obsidian (combine lava and water, mine the mineral that is made).

Prismancer
Obtain a rainbow rod.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Crafting recipe for the rainbow rod (at the Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil):

• 10 Crystal Shards (Found in underground Hallow Biome)
  
• 10 Pixie Dust (Dropped by the Pixies found in the Hallow biome)
  
• 2 Unicorn Horn (Dropped by Unicorns in the Hallow Surface)
  
• 8 Souls of Light (Dropped by Mobs in the Hallow cavern layer)
  
• 15 Souls of Sight (Dropped by the Twins Boss)

Drax Attax
Craft a drax or pickaxe axe using hallowed bars, and the souls of the three mechanical bosses.

Once you've killed all of the mechanical bosses; Skeletron Prime, Destroyer or The Twins. They'll drop some Hallowed Bars as well as the souls of Fright, Might and Sight. Craft yourself the Pickaxe Axe or the Drax at the Mythril or Orichalcum anvil. The crafting recipe one of these items are:

• 1 Soul of Fright (Skeletron Prime)
  
• 1 Soul of Might (The Destroyer)
  
• 1 Soul of Sight (The Twins)
  
• 18 Hallowed Bars (Dropped by all the above listed bosses)

Sword of the Hero
Obtain a Terra Blade, forged from the finest blades of light and darkness.

This sword has a hefty crafting recipe so I'll try explain it the best I can on here. You need two powerful swords to combine into the Terra Blade however one of these swords requires its own respective swords to craft.
The first sword you'll need is the Knight's Edge. This sword can be crafted in PreHardmode.
The second sword is the excalibur.
Both swords can be crafted into more powerful versions of the swords (True Excalibur and True Night's Edge) by combining them with the broken hero sword which is dropped by Mothron in the Solar Eclipse event.

Night's Edge Crafting Recipe (Crafted at Demon Alter):

• Fiery Greatsword - 20 Hellstone Bars -> (60 Hellstone and 20 obsidian)
  
• Blade of Grass - 15 Jungle Spores, 12 Stingers and 3 Vines -> (Underground jungle green orbs, Hornets, Maneaters in underground jungle)
  
• Light's Bane/Blood Butcherer - 10 Demonite Bars/10 Crimtane Bars -> (Ore dropped by the Eye of Cthulu or the boss of your respective evil biome)
  
• Muramasa - Open a locked golden chest in the dungeon to have a chance of having this blade

Excalibur Crafting Recipe (Crafted at Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil):

• 12 Hallowed Bars - (Dropped by any of the mechanical bosses)

True Night's Edge Crafting Recipe (Crafted at Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil):

• Night's Edge - Follow above recipe to craft it
  
• Broken Hero Sword - 25% drop chance from Mothron in the Solar Eclipse event

True Excalibur Crafting Recipe (Crafted at Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil):

• Excalibur - Follow above recipe to craft it
  
• Broken Hero Sword - 25% drop chance from Mothron in the Solar Eclipse event

Terra Blade Crafting Recipe (Crafted at Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil):

• True Night's Edge - Follow the above recipe
  
• True Excalibur - Follow the above recipe

Infinity +1 Sword
Obtain the Zenith, the culmination of a journey forged into the ultimate sword.

Crafting Recipe for Zenith Sword:

• Terra Blade - Refer to the crafting recipe above this achievement
  
• Meowmere - Drops from the Moon Lord Boss

How to get wings
There are only one set of wings which can be obtained in prehardmode however I don't recommend getting them as they are pretty rare. It's the fledgling wings from skyware chests found on the sky islands or obtained from sky crates fished from sky lakes.The easiest wings to obtain are the Demon, Angel or Leaf wings in hardmode.

  How to obtain Dye
  There are a few ways to obtain dye. One of which is to pick up strange plants found around the surface of your world. This will move in your Dye Trader who you can buy the Dye Vat from which will serve as your crafting station for dye. The Dye Trader will sell a couple of Dyes costing one gold each. Once you've obtained your dyes equip them in your dye slots. Don't forget the 2nd tab of your equipment for your mounts, grappling hook, pets and light pets.

No Hobo
Build a house suitable enough for your first town NPC, such as the guide to move into.

What counts as 'suitable' housing?
Something that may not be so obvious is you need to build a house with specific requirements if you want to move the guide (first NPC you encounter) into your new home.
For your house to be suitable you need to:

• Cover your 'box' you created out of blocks with walls. Walls are crafted at the crafting bench, one of (mostly) any block will craft you 4 walls of that block. To fill your house up easier use the Auto-place feature by toggling this using Ctrl on your keyboard. This will fill the box up much quicker than you manually placing each wall with your cursor. If you misplace any walls, craft yourself a hammer and you can remove the misplaced walls.
  
  
• Contain atleast one door OR platforms leading into the room/house. You can craft platforms without a crafting bench however you need to craft doors at the crafting bench. The standard door is crafted out of wood, the same with platforms.
  Place the door on the sides of the box as should be. Platforms have more freedom as you can place them on the sides or on the roof of your house. Be careful when placing them on the sides in substitute for doors as not only you can pass through them, unwanted mobs and enemies will be able to pass through also.
  
  
• Light the interior of the house with a light source. The easiest light source to obtain is the torch. You can craft one at your work bench with the use of 1 wood and 3 gel. Gel is obtained from slimes, those blue/green blobs you see during day time, they don't spawn at night time so gather your resources carefully.

Funkytown

The groom is a very rare mob which spawns in the blood moon event or in the graveyard mini biome. He looks like a regular zombie dressed in a top hat and tuxedo.

Doctor Bones is a rare enemy which spawns in the underground jungle biome. He will look like a regular zombie with a brown Indiana Jones-style hat.

Locating Tim
Tim is a rare mob which spawns in the deeper parts of the Cavern Layer. You will know you've encountered him when you see a skeleton wearing a wizard hat who won't stop firing blue fireballs in your direction!

Vehicular Manslaughter
Defeat an enemy by running it over with a minecart.

Railroad Rage
Place some minecart rails on the surface of your world and await your next victim.

Dungeon Heist
Steal a key from the dungeon's undead denizens, and unlock one of their precious golden chests.

Kill the dungeon slime which will drop you a golden key to unlock the locked golden chests in the dungeon.

Heliophobia
Trick a gnome into turning into stone!

Where to find Gnomes
Gnomes can be found running around inside the Living tree structures you find on the surface of your world. Venture down to the sectioned rooms you find underneath the tree and you should find a gnome or two, if you don't find a gnome wait beside the room (Make sure the room is offscreen so the gnomes can spawn) and wait. Dig upwards until you let sunlight into the same area where the gnomes are located. Make the gnome chase you into the sunlight and he'll turn into stone. You can also mine him to pick him up and place him as a decoration later on.

Deceiver of Fools
Kill a nymphㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Don't be fooled
Throughout your cavern layer explorations you might come across a lost girl without clothing. Hold up now before you head over there and try to take her in your arms because she most definitely isn't going to be your new neighbour in your town. This rare encounter is actually an enemy, she will transform into the Nymph and will become hostile so you have no choice but to kill her.
It's okay... Maybe there's some mods out there for you which will let you live your dreams.

How to spawn the King Slime
There are three ways to spawn the king slime.

• He will spawn during the slime rain event after the player has killed 150 slimes, the number of slimes decreases to 75 once you have killed king slime atleast once in that world.
  
• Can spawn randomly at a rare chance if the following conditions are met: player location is above level 0, it is daytime, there is green grass present, the player is on the far left or far right of the map.
  
• you can use your resources and craft the boss summoning item at the demon altar found in your respective evil biomes.

Crafting recipe for the slime crown (King Slime Boss Summon):

• 5 Gold Bars - Smelted at the furnace, 5 gold ore can be smelted into 1 bar
  
• 1 Ruby - Found underground
  
• Gold Crown - Crafted from the above resources at the anvil
  
• 20 gel - Dropped by slimes (Combine the gold crown with the 20 gel at the demon altar)

Eye on You
Defeat the Eye of Cthulhu, an ocular menace who only appears at night.

How to spawn the Eye of Cthulhu
There are two ways to spawn the Eye of Cthulhu, he will automatically invade your world on your new character once your character new hits the total of 200 health (All red hearts) and a total of 10 defense the boss will have a 1/3 chance to spawn in your world at night. You can also manually summon him using the suspicious looking eye, found in chests or can be crafted from 6 lenses at the demon altar.

• 6 Lenses - Dropped from demon eyes which spawn at night time.

Boned
Defeat Skeletron, the cursed guardian of the dungeon.

How to summon skeletron
Skeletron is manually summoned at the start of the game when speaking to the Old Man in the Dungeon at night time. When you do, a new dialog option will open will be present. Click 'curse' and the old man will transform into Skeletron.
If for some reason this achievement doesn't appear you can do the encounter again by equipping the clothier voodoo doll in your accessories and killing the clothier.

Sting Operation
Defeat the Queen Bee, the matriarch of the jungle hives.

How to summon the Queen Bee
There are two ways to summon the queen bee. The first method is to locate a bee hive in the underground jungle. Mine into it until you reach the inside of the Hive. You should find a Bee Larvae inside a yellow casing. Once you attack or mine it the Bee Larvae will be destroyed and the queen bee will spawn. If you fail your first attempt at fighting her that's no big deal you can venture back down to the hive and collect some resources which you'll need to craft the boss summon. The boss can be summoned at any time just as long as it's in the presence of the jungle.

Crafting recipe for the Abeemination (Queen Bee boss summon):

• 5 Honey Block - When you mix water with honey it will create a solid honey block, mine it
  
• 5 Hive Block - Mine a hive structure to obtain this item
  
• 1 Stinger - Drops from hornets found in the underground jungle biome
  
• 1 Bottled Honey - Crafted when you stand in honey whilst having a bottle in your inventory

Worm Fodder
Defeat the Eater of Worlds, a massive worm whom dwells in the corruption.

How to summon the eater of worlds
Assuming your world has corruption and not crimson you'll be able to summon the eater of worlds. Venture down to the ditches you find in the surface of your corruption biome and you should drop down and find some purple glowing orbs, submerged under some ebonstone. if you're lucky you'll find some open shadow orbs. Use your hammer to smash 3 Orbs and the eater of worlds will spawn. Your world should spawn with 6 - 9 orbs altogether so you have a few attempts before having to use the crafting recipe to summon it. The summoning item is crafted at the demon altar which you'll find underground in your corruption biome.

Crafting recipe for Worm Food (Eater of Worlds boss summon):

• 15 Rotten Chunks - Dropped by the mobs in the corruption biome
  
• 30 Vile Powder - Crafted from 6 vile mushrooms at the alchemy table or bottle on table

Mastermind
Defeat the Brain of Cthulhu, an enourmous demon brain which haunts the creeping crimson.

How to summon Brain of Cthulhu
Assuming your world has a crimson evil biome, venture down the circular cave entrances found on the surface of your evil biome and on your way down you should find some glowing red hearts inside some crimstone. Use bombs or dynamite and you'll be able to get to them pretty easy. Destroy 3 Hearts and the brain of Cthulhu will spawn. This won't be your only attempt as there will be more than 3 crimson hearts in your evil biome at a time. You can also summon the brain of cthulhu with the use of the bloody spine crafted at the demon altar.

Crafting recipe for bloody spine (Brain of Cthulhu boss summon):

• 15 Vertibra - Has a chance to drop from all crimson mobs
  
• 30 Vicious Powder - crafted from 6 vicious mushrooms at the alchemy table or bottle on table

Still Hungry
Defeat the Wall of Flesh, the master and core of the world who arises after a great, burning sacrifice.

How to summon the Wall of Flesh
The Wall of Flesh is the last PreHardmode boss of Terraria before your world gets progressed into Hardmode. There is only one way to spawn the Wall of Flesh. During your time in the underworld may or may not see an uncommon mob called the Voodoo Demon. You'll know when you see it when you see a flying demon holding a small doll in its feet. Kill it and it will drop something called the guide voodoo doll. To use this doll you need to have a guide which is living in your town. If your world has a living guide then you can summon the Wall of Flesh. Simply drop the Guide voodoo doll into some lava and it will sacrifice the guide and spawn the Wall of Flesh. Don't worry, a new guide will respawn once your world sees another morning.

It's Hard!
Unleash the ancient spirits of light and darkness across your world, enabling much stronger foes and showering the world with dazzling treasures (and rainbows!).

Not a boss
This achievement should pop once you have defeated the Wall of Flesh. This is just here to remind you that your world has... changed to say the least.

Buckets of Bolts
Defeat the three nocturnal mechanical menaces: the Twins, the Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime.

The Titanium Trinity
The mechanical bosses are summoned at night time. You have to craft their boss summons to summon them. For this particular achievement you just need to beat one of each (can be on different nights and not on the same night).

Crafting Recipe for Mechanical Worm (Destroyer Boss Summon):

• 6 Rotten Chunk/Vertebra
  
• 5 Iron/Lead Bar
  
• 6 Souls of Night - Chance to drop from any mob belonging to your evil biome in the cavern layer

Crafting Recipe for Mechanical Eye (The Twins Boss Summon):

• 3 Lens

• 6 Souls of Light - Chance to drop from any mob belonging to the Hallow biome in the cavern layer

Crafting Recipe for Mechanical Skull (Skeletron Prime Boss Summon):

• 30 Bones - Dropped by any skeleton enemy (I recommend going to the Dungeon to farm these)

Mecha Mayhem
Do battle against the Twins, the Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime simultaneously and emerge victorious.

Tough as Nails
Kill all the mechanical bosses on the same night, summoning them at the same time. For difficulty I recommend doing this on normal rather than expert or master.

The Great Southern Plantkill
Defeat Plantera, the overgrown monstrosity of the jungle's depths.

How to Summon Plantera
Every time you kill the three mechanical bosses (doesn't have to be on the same night) 1 Plantera bulb will spawn in the cavern layer of your jungle biome. Looking for this bulb can be a pain to look for so I recommend killing the three bosses a few times. Once you do find the Pink coloured plant bulb use your pickaxe and Plantera will spawn. A note to take in, the bulb emits light and can be spotted on your map, so if you fully explored the underground jungle you have the best chances of finding it on the fullscreen map. It will even say its a Plantera bulb when you hover your cursor over it.

Fish Out of Water
Defeat Duke Fishron, mutant terror of the sea.

How to Summon Duke Fishron
You will need a bug net as well as a fishing rod to summon the boss. Venture down to the glowing mushroom biome and you will see a small worm wriggling around. I recommend making your mushroom biome flat-surfaced as the worms are very quick and can escape very easily. Use your best mobility accessories for the best chances of catching the worm. Once you have a worm or two cast your line at any of the Ocean biomes and once the line gets yanked you'll soon find your big catch.

Lihzahrdian Idol
Defeat Golem, the stone-faced ritualistic idol of the lihzahrd tribe.

How to summon the golem
Once you've explored around your Jungle temple you should've gathered some Lihzahrd power cells from the chests. At the very end of the Temple (Usually the deepest part) you will encounter a large Altar with a rotating star above it. Right click on it and you should use up a power cell to summon the Golem.

Obsessive Devotion
Defeat the Ancient Cultist, fanatical leader of the dungeon coven.

How to summon the Lunatic Cultist
Once you kill the Golem a bunch of hooded figures will spawn at the entrance of your dungeon. Kill them all and you will spawn the Lunatic Cultist.

Champion of Terraria
Defeat the Moon Lord.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

How to summon the Moon Lord
There are two ways to summon the Moon Lord. One way is 'for free' and one way requires resources. To spawn the Moon Lord without the use of summoning items/resources you will need to destroy all 4 celestial pillars which spawn around your world after defeating the Lunatic Cultist. The other method requires the celestial sigil which is crafted at the ancient manipulator.

Crafting recipe for the Celestial Sigil (Moon Lord Boss Summon):

• 20 Solar Fragment - Dropped after destroying the Solar celestial pillar
  
• 20 Vortex Fragment - Dropped after destroying the Vortex celestial pillar

How to spawn Queen Slime
To spawn the Queen slime you need the Gelatin Crystal, to find them you to venture down into the underground hallow. Look for locations where specifically Crystal shards form. One of those crystals will be a gelatin crystal instead. You'll know you've found it when you see a sparkly animated pink crystal formation which fades in and out of purple to pink. It's roughly the same size as a crystal shard. Mine it with your pickaxe to collect it and use it in the Hallow surface.

Fae Flayer
Defeat the Empress of Light, responsible for all those flashy lights and glitter.

How to Spawn The Empress of Light
This boss will be spawnable after you kill Plantera, however it is recommended for you to gain powerful gear as this is a very hard boss, think of grinding for Golem or Duke Fishron gear. To spawn her you need to kill a Prismatic Lacewing which is a rare Hallow surface mob you find at night. You can also catch the Prismatic Lacewing with your bug net and release it to spawn the boss later. Don't do this boss during the day as she will become enraged therefore much harder than her form at night.

A Rather Blustery Day
Fly a kite on a windy day.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Not much of an event
A randomly spawning event during daytime. You will know its a windy day when a different soundtrack plays rather than the original daytime soundtrack. You will also see leaves flying across your character. Kites are very rare item drops, the earliest kite you could obtain comes from the slime attached to a flying balloon, an exclusive enemy to the windy day event.

Bloodbath
Survive a blood moon, a nocturnal event where the rivers run red and monsters swarm aplenty.

A randomly spawning event during night time. You will know it's a bloodmoon when your world turns red and a bunch of blood enemies spawn.

Sticky Situation
Survive the slime rain, where gelatinous organisms fall from the sky in droves.

A randomly spawning day time event. Slime will start falling from the sky. You can also spawn the King Slime.

Goblin Punter
Triumph over a goblin invasion, a ragtag regiment of crude, barbaric, pointy-eared warriors and their shadowflame sorcerers.

How to spawn the goblin invasion
The goblin invasion randomly spawns once the player:

• Destroyed at least one shadow orb or crimson heart
  
• Has 200 health or more
  
• Is near respawn point at daytime

If the invasion doesn't spawn there's a manual way to spawn the invasion through the Goblin Battle Standard.

Do You Want To Slay a Snowman?
Triumph over the frost legion, a festive family of maniacal snowman mobsters.

How to summon the Frost Legion invasion
This is a Christmas exclusive event. You summon the invasion using the snow globe, an occasional drop when unwrapping presents.

Walk the Plank
Triumph over a pirate invasion, a group of pillagers from the sea out for your booty... and your life.

How to spawn the Pirate invasion
Once the player has achieved 200 health on their character the pirate invasion has a 1 in 30 chance of spawning randomly (If the player hasn't defeated the pirate invasion yet). Once the player defeats the pirate invasion, the chance increases to 1 in 50. To summon the invasion manually you need the Pirate Map which is a rare drop from any Ocean biome mob, however the player must have 200 health to use the pirate map.

To keep everything short and sweet the prerequisites/requirements for the pirate invasion are as follows:

• The world is in Hardmode (Player has defeated the wall of flesh in the world they want to summon the invasion)
  
• Atleast 1 demon altar has been smashed
  
• Player has atleast 200 health
  
• There are no active events (of course)

Kill the Sun
Survive a solar eclipse, a day darker than night filled with creatures of horror.

How to spawn the Solar Eclipse event
The solar eclipse event has a 1 in 20 chance of spawning once you kill atleast one mechanical boss. To pass the time quicker sleep in your bed and time will advance.

Hero of Etheria
Repel the strongest forces the Old One's Army can muster.

First of all to earn this achievement you need to have killed atleast one mechanical boss and defeat the Golem. After you defeat the Golem the 'strongest forces' will spawn in the Old One's Army event. To earn the achievement you need to complete Wave 7.

Tin-Foil Hatter
Triumph over a martian invasion, when beings from out of this world come to scramble your brains and probe you in uncomfortable places.

How to Spawn the Martian Madness event
There are some prerequisites for the martian madness event. First of all the player has to have killed the Golem boss, secondly the player must have atleast 200 maximum health otherwise the event won't start.
To have the best chances of spawning this invasion go to the ocean biome and build up until you reach the space mini-biome. After waiting some time a Martian device should appear, let it scan you and the martians will soon come to invade your world!

Baleful Harvest
Reach the 15th wave of a pumpkin moon, where evil lurks among the autumn harvest.

Reach wave 15 of the pumpkin moon event.
Crafting recipe for pumpkin moon medallion (Event Summon for Pumpkin Moon Event):

• 30 Pumpkin blocks - Pumpkin seeds can be purchased from the Dryad or wait for Halloween
  
• 10 Hallowed Bars - Dropped by the Mechanical Bosses
  
• 5 Ectoplasm - Dropped by dungeon spirits in the Dungeon available after killing Plantera

Ice Scream
Reach the 15th wave of a frost moon, where the festive season quickly degrades into madness.

Reach wave 15 of the frost moon event.
Crafting recipe for the Naughty Present (Event Summon for Frost Moon Event):

• 20 Silk - crafted at the Loom from cobwebs
  
• 5 Souls of Fright - Dropped by Skeletron Prime
  
• 5 Ectoplasm - Dropped by dungeon spirits in the Dungeon available after killing Plantera

Star Destroyer
Defeat the four celestial towers of the moon.

How to spawn the celestial/lunar event
The celestial event spawns after you kill the Lunatic Cultist. 4 Celestial pillars will appear around your world, they will have a forcefield around them upon first encounter. The forcefield disappears after the player kill 100 enemies that are spawned by the pillar. After that the player will be able to damage and destroy the pillar.

The Frequent Flyer
Spend over 1 gold being treated by the nurse.

Hospital bills are through the roof nowadays
Have a dangerous mob harm you with your nifty nurse living nearby.

Completely Awesome
Obtain a minishark.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Where to get the minishark
The minishark can be bought from the arms dealer (Prehardmode) for 35 gold. To move the arms dealer into your town you need to obtain either ammunition (for a gun) or obtain a gun.

Feeling Petty
Deliver headpats to the town pet.

How to spawn a town pet
This achievement relates to the Zoologist NPC you can buy a dog or a cat license for 5 gold coins from her.
The item works like a consumable. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SUITABLE HOUSING (and there's an npc already living where you want to spawn the pet). From my knowledge the town pet spawns in the morning just like the other NPCs. Once the pet moves in, right click the pet to deliver them some sweet head pats!
This achievement also works on pet slimes, see the labour of love achievement section on more information on how to obtain pet slimes.

Leading Landlord
Meet with a tenant who's as happy as they possibly can be!

To get this achievement you can get it a couple ways.

• Build a house with 2 separate rooms in the desert biome, move in your arms dealer and nurse. Talk to the arms dealer.
  
• Build a house with 2 separate rooms in the jungle biome, move in your painter and dryad.
  Talk to the painter.
  
• Build a house with 2 separate rooms in the jungle biome, move in your Zoologist and Golfer. Talk to either.
  ^ These are the most easiest methods so far

Jolly Jamboree
What you're celebrating doesn't matter, just throw a party already!

A Vague Achievement
To obtain this achievement you need to have the party girl NPC moved into your town. She has a 1 in 40 chance to spawn in during the day-time (morning). You must have a spare room otherwise she won't spawn and move in, have a spare room to increase your chances.
Purchase the Party Center for 20 gold from her once she moves in. Place it, Right click your cursor over it. Enjoy your party!

It Can Talk?!
Build a house in a mushroom biome and have the Truffle move in.

Fungal Friend
To move the truffle in the house needs to be near a glowing mushroom biome. You can either build a house beside one you've already discovered in your world or make an artificial one on the surface to save some travel time. You can do this by placing 200 mud blocks and placing a bunch of glowing mushroom seeds which will spread the biome across the mud, eventually forming a glowing mushroom biome.

Have all possible town NPCs living in your world

Hot Reels!
Drop a lure in a pool of lava for a pre-fried haul!

For this achievement you will need the following equipment:

• Lavaproof Bug Net - Bug Net, 15 Hellstone Bars
  
• Any fishing pole

Fetch some of the lava critters you can find in the underworld biome with the Lavaproof Bug Net and use your fishing pole to fish in the lava. You can also get this achievement by using the hotline fishing pole but that's a rare drop from the angler so it's not as reliable as this method of lava fishing.

Don't Dread on Me
Defeat the Dreadnautilus, murderous mollusk lurking beneath the surface of the sanguine seas.

How to summon the Dreadnautilus
Cast your line in a lake (anywhere) during a blood moon. This mini-boss has a 1 in 10 chance of spawning but there are 4 other enemies which can be spawned also; Wandering Eye Fish, Zombie Merman, Blood Eel and the Hemogoblin Shark. Good luck.

Glorious Golden Pole
Obtain a golden fishing rod.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The angler will reward you with the golden fishing pole after 30 quests.

Servant-in-Training
Complete your 1st quest for the angler.

What are angler quests?
The Angler is an NPC which you obtain by going to the surface edges of your world. You'll encounter an Ocean biome. Search around for a boy that's sleeping either on the shore, underwater or floating in the water. If you don't find him he's most likely on the other side of your world (the other ocean biome). Once you move in the Angler NPC he will give you quests on fetching certain fish once per day. He'll state the fish's location so you have an easier time finding the fish. Bring it to him and he'll give you some rewards for it.

Good Little Slave
Complete your 10th quest for the angler.

Do some more quests for the angler.

Trout Monkey
Complete your 25th quest for the angler.

And more...

Fast and Fishious
Complete your 50th quest for the angler.

And eeeven more...

Supreme Helper Minion
Complete a grand total of 200 quests for the angler
