A Healing Beacon works like a Purification Bomb if placed near corrupted blocks/water. The good part is it has a greater range and you can just pick it up again. So you can actually make the underworld more beautiful/friendly.
Another thing with the Healing Beacon is, it will turn any water (not lava) source into healing water.
If you throw a Corrupt Bomb on the surface it will of course corrupt, but the mobs which will spawn at this point are also corrupt, so be carefull.
If you want to create a water source, place a Hardened Lava block and place ice or snow right next to it.
For the lava source place a Hardened Lava block and burn it down, for example with a Fire Bomb.
Sometimes you'll find black water which represents oil, if you freeze it with a ice block nearby or a Freeze Bomb for example you'll get a lot of coal ores (don't use fire or you'll create a sea of lava)
Burning coal ores creates diamond ores (with Fire Bomb for example).
Burning sand creates salt (with Fire Bomb for example).
Corals grow on mud near water.
It might be obvious, but some people try to avoid to craft Advanced Extractors because of the needed obsidian, but it is highly recommended. WIth the Advanced Extractors you'll get 2x reward in 1/2 the time, so a win win. Super Extractors are even better (with 3x reward in 1/3 time).
Lumite Mining Cells have an infinite amount of durability when you collect lower tier blocks, it starts to loose a lot when you collect corrupted stuff. So if you want to get a lot stone, sand or whatever, use the cell forever.
To get recipes you don't always have to craft the items, it is enough if you collect these (for example get the items from a friend). But this does not work for all recipes.
If you find big wide caves, especially in the lava depth (where lava supports your sight) then place a Teleporter and don't fill the place with light. You'll have a high chance on finding Treasure Chests! I have a farm where usually 15-20 chests are quite next to each other. Of course you could also build a big room yourself, but you'll have to keep it dark.
Also if you building rooms for farming monsters, you need to have the correct stones. So if you want lava monster to spawn, use hardened lava blocks and so on. A room should be at least 16x16 for best outcome, but it can also be smaller if it has to be (monsters can actually spawn on 1x1 blocks)
Place a Queen Bee on at least two wood blocks and it will produce beeswax after 1-3 days, so no need to find trees. For a farm make sure that you have at least 3 empty blocks between each pillar.
Not everyone noticed it straight away, but you cannot drown in healing water, so make use of it (for example use it as an elevator, etc)
If you have trouble fighting against lava monsters, stay inside the lava with a fire resist potion and wait until the red cross for attacking shows up. You can reach them, but they won't you. This does not count for corrupted ones. If you want to kill the "thing", it is good to lure it into a corner where it is blocked by a block and strike from the side.
Don't hesitate using TNT, especially if you want to collect ores. TNT does not destroy ore blocks, even TNT3 keeps them save. Every tier of TNT can destroy more or less natural blocks.
