Overview
The 1575 offensive was the first real attack on the oda during the war. It started with the the siege of Kyoto, as the Otomo wanted to retake the city. The city was well protected with a large garrison, and the battle lasted all day until the oda won. The casualties were in the thousands. After the failed attack the yammana declared war on the oda, the tide had been turned to the Otomo and their allies. The yammana attacked wasaka it failed. The yammana and their allies (will know be known as the axis) attacked the city 3 more times all failed, the yammana had just got their 5th and 2nd army back from the otomo’s land and went for the city the garrison was not able to take them both out so the oda 2nd army under a general who shall not be named any more went to help the city. The 5th battle of wasaka was about to begin. The battle began with the archers firing at each other, the more accurate oda archers cut the yammana to pieces and the oda cavalry fought the yammana cavalry and won. The infantry clashed and was deadly but the oda won and killed the retreating yammana. The battle was over and the oda had won at a cost they lost 3,500 out of 7,000 the yammana lost 5,000 out of 8,000. The yammana attacked one more time and were repelled the offensive was over and was a decisive victory for the oda. In total 30,000 people died, more than half were “axis” troops. This was the turning point in the war but even more would have to die to win this war.
