Arverni Legendary: the first 3 turns.
Goals
Turn 1
- Send your spy towards The Greek States, I tend to target Thrace. (this will help diplomacy in the future as you meet new factions)
- Research Under Floor Drainage in Construction. (This is to boost growth rate up)
- Expand Nemossos and build an Artisan's Lodge. (This is for a bronze workshop for the coming war)
- Ask the Pictones to join the war against Aedui.
- Offer a NAP to Massilia and demand 500. (very rarely Massilia will reject the NAP, think of it as catching them on a bad day, leave the Diplomacy screen and return, this usually fixes it)
- Offer Trade to Massilia and demand 500.
- Ask Massilia to join the war against Aedui.
- Offer peace to Aedui, demand theu join your Confederation, pay 2000.
- Move the army The Horns of Cernunnos south toward Burdigala, stop at the bridge.
- Move the other army Catobudua's Flight to The Horn's army, transfer the two units it contains and disband the Catbudua's army. (this will give you 3 free units from the next confederation)
- Declare was on the Carnutes offer them peace, demand they join your confederation, demand from 500 to 3000 from them. (usually 2000)
- Declare war on the Namnetes, offer them peace, demand they join your confederation, demand from 500 to 3000 from them. (usually 1500)
- Declare war on the Sequani and offer them peace, demand they join your confederation, demand from 500 to 3000 from them. (usually 1500)
- Declare war on the Volcae and offer them peace, demand they join your confederation, demand from 500 to 3000 from them. (usually 1000)
- Declare war on theTreverii and offer them peace, demand they join your confederation, demand from 500 to 3000 from them. (usually 1000)
- Set the Celtica province to the Bread and Games edict.
- Recruit 3 units into the Horn's army, it is probably a good idea to get melee as you have recieved many free ranged units via Confederation)
- Move the Defender's of the Hills in Bibracte to Vesontio.
- Move the Swords of Segomo army in Tolosa to the border with the Pictones and recruit 3 units.
- Move the army in Cenabum at double time toward Vesontio.
- Move the army in Treverorum to Vesontio, transfer the units to Vesontio and march back to Treverorum at double time.
- Dismantle the Enclosed Land in Bibracte and save all your money for the next turn's leverage.
End Turn
Notes: The order is surprisingly important, the subtle things such as the three free units acquired from the Carnutes Confederating after dismissing an army dictate how much money you get from diplomacy and if certain factions will confederate at all. For instance without the proper order it can be hard to confederate Treverii.
Turn 2
- Declare war on the Pictones, then offer them peace, to Join Condederation and pay 3000-6000. (if you are too cheap you can make them mad and they will refuse everything, if you mess it up too bad you can load your autosave)
- Declare war on Vivisci.
- Move the army from Tolosa to Burdigala, then attack with the Horn's army, just maintain the siege for now.
- Move the Army in Lemonum toward Budigala at double time, transfer the units you want into the Horn's army for a full stack.
- Occupy Burdigala and set the Bread and Games edict.
- In Bibracte build a Commons, in Burdigala dismantle the Enclosed Lands, in Lemonum build an Enclosed Land.
- Level up the Horn's General.
- Recruit 3 units into a free army in Burdigala.
- In Vesontio transfer the units between armies and send them empty general back to garrison Bibracte to assist in public order.
- Spend the rest of your treasury as you see fit, I would focus on upgrading Hamlets that offer goods first to boost both Trade and Growth.
Notes: There is a fairly good chance the Pictones will break their Defesive Alliance with you in the first 10 turns so don't feel as though you wasted the treaty. Furthermore you just acquired their armies anyway and can now issue an edict.
Don't feel bad about dumping your treasury to Confederate the Pictones as you will reach the first milestone on turn 3 meeting all the sub goals, pulling in 5000.
Turn 3
- In Burdigala build a Commons, in Nemossos build a Bronze Workshop, in Cenabum build an Enclosed Land, in Tolosa build a Sacred Grove and upgrade the Hamlet if you didn't already, in Treverorum build a Sacred Grove.
- Spend the rest of your treasury as you see fit.
- March the Horn's army and the Children or Morgane army at double time toward Aracillum, if you lost a lot of units in the taking of Burdigala you may want to wait a turn and recruit.
End Turn
Notes: next turn you will be able to capture Aracillum achieving a sub goal of the next milestone and acquiring the trade good Marble. This is not an easy battle and you likely pull in a costly victory but Cantabri is at war with other faction and won't be able to stop you from capturing Terraco in the next 2-3 turns after Aracillum.
What's next?
You have a war to deal with to the south and will need to get public order under control. Also Massalia will start dropping treaties, without trade they have out lived their usefulness.
To achieve the next milestone you need to maintain 60 military units, at this point you should have a minimum of 36, well on your way. 1 of the 4 sub goals are already achieved and to achieve the other 3 you need to take the following.Green is what you own, red is what you need. You will likely achieve the 60 unit mark before you hold the required settlments if you don't monitor your unit count.
Good Luck.
Notes
- This was written for a vanilla legendary game.
- There are very rare occasions where the events of the first 3 turns can differ slightly.
- From Patch 7 beta notes; Campaign diplomacy: It’s now harder to sign trade & alliance treaties with AI factions, gifts now give a bigger boost to relations.
